Matt had flown in to Oahu a few days ago to visit his grandparents in Manoa and had spent a good chunk of time with them as well as some of his friends from high school. It was nice being back. He really missed Oahu and his grandparents. Still, when he told them that he'd be hopping over to Maui for a few days during his visit, they didn't mind in the least. Lu was a cool chick and he wanted to spend some time with her. Plus, he wanted to see if her skills on a board matched all the talk.

Rolling up into the beach parking lot in a jeep he had rented, Matt pulled his board out from the back and padded down the sand path. With a pair of aviators over his eyes, he scanned the beach, smiling when he finally spotted Lu.

Who: Matt and Lu
When: Sunday evening
Where: Starting at school and then heading into Boston.
What: Looks like it's a date.

Even though he had already been at TJS for a few weeks now, Matt was still trying to get adjusted. Luckily, most of the people he had met were friendly and helpful enough that it made transitioning back into school mode a bit easier for him.

Getting invited to a movie night with Lu, Starbuck and Kim was pretty cool. All three of them seemed like genuine, chill people and they were managing to get him to be a little more social. Matt was still reeling a bit from the accident, but he knew he had to get back on his feet. It was why he was here after all.

Yes, he was working on getting his abilities back in the classroom, but going out was also something he needed so he had asked Lu if she wanted to go into Boston with him. He was glad she had agreed.. she seemed like a cool girl and he wanted to get to know her better.

5 o'clock rolled around and Matt was already sitting in the common room waiting for her to show up, half paying attention to the TV that was on in front of him playing some random scary movie.

Who: Lu, Kim, Starbuck, Matt (and Kamea?)
What: Taking over Bucky's place for movies.
Where: Starbuck's apartment.
When: Friday night, starting aboooout 6:15?

It was about ten minutes before she'd told Kim to be there and a little longer until Matt was meant to be joining them. Lu was standing outside Bucky's door with a bag slung across her body that contained the films and some munchies of both the healthy and totally unhealthy varieties. She'd aimed a little earlier than the others so she had time to inform Bucky of what they were doing and talk him into it if he wasn't so keen. She was hoping he'd be fine with it though. Hanging out with him in his place sounded perfect right now.

Knocking on the door she waited until it was opened and breezed past him with a grin. "Hey! Thanks for hosting movie night so Kim can be introduced to the combination of surfing, aliens and Disney!" She said in greeting.

Who: Matt and Rae
When: Around 4pm on Thursday
Where: Supernatural History classroom
What: Matt decides that Supernatural History is never gonna be a normal class.

Matt's week had been pretty laid back so far. Well, with the exception of helping out Summer on Tuesday. He hadn't felt like he was of much help there since she was only sleeping, but apparently she and the two other girls who were with her had thought differently. That was definitely an interesting way to start things off at a new school.

He was trying not to think of any of that though because right now, he was trying to concentrate on taking notes of Professor Witt's lecture. It had been a while since he had been in a classroom, but he seemed to be picking back up on it quickly.

Looking back up from his notes to the board, he caught sight of a brunette who was facing in his direction. Was she staring at him?

What: Clumsy Summer trips and ends up ... asleep?


Summer was doing her best to stay rapt with attention in all of her classes today. She was a calendar marking, note-taking, highlighting queen. Some of her classes were less interesting than others. Supernatural History was actually her 5th class in a row on Tuesdays and Thursdays; she figured blocking them all together was preferable over teasing oneself with breaks and lunches. After this, she could just go back to her room, walk Sebastian, then do nothing -- except perhaps homework -- for the rest of the evening. It was unlike her to look forward to being useless, but then she hadn't been much like herself lately, she thought.

Until she violently tripped over someone else's things. That... that was like her. Emma had been reaching for her purse just as Summer almost fell over it. She let out a sharp gasp as she almost fell flat on her face, kicking Emma's purse a good two feet. When she had regained her balance she let out a breathy 'OhmyGod!' and grabbed the sleep demon's forearm.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to k---"

Suddenly the world closed in around her eyes sight, and she dropped to the floor dead asleep. Surrounding students let out a quiet uproar.

What: New student meets newly rejuvenated teacher
Where: Science classroom
When: After Advanced Science

It was a wonderful day. It was a wonderful, glorious April day in New England, which meant it was cold and muddy outside, but it was still a wonderful day. Every day since Mikhail had come back was a wonderful day. It was also the first day of classes, and probably not every one of her students appreciated her exceptionally chipper mood.

She flitted about her classes in much the same way she had been flitting about her apartment for the past week. The first day of class was always an intro to her. She designed class guidelines with the students. There was one she always made sure made it into the guidelines, but otherwise, it was up to the students to design their own guidelines. Then she'd explain the topics, and discuss which open-ended questions the class would like to see answered. That was usually tough because, for some reason, a lot of students weren't used to thinking like that. The ones who didn't like science couldn't see how what they did like was influenced by science. Into music? Ok, let's look at the physics of sound waves. It usually got going eventually.

And then she'd ended her classes with a bang. Literally. Feeling this happy made her want to explode things. Or maybe it made her want to take risks. In any case, a small chemistry demonstration gave rise to a small, but impressive explosion.

All in all, it seemed like a good start to the semester. She was cleaning up after her Advanced Science when she noticed a new student hanging around, taking his time packing up to leave. "Ummm.... I know, I know..." Pressing her hand to her forehead, she tried to remember the student's name. "Matt!" she suddenly cried. "Can I help you?"
