Who: Lelia and Open
When: Between breakfast and lunch
Where: The library
What: Lelia meets someone while exploring the tomes.

Lelia was delighted. Delighted, calm, and just a little excited. She felt completely at home in the library, which not only held a large selection of the educational and personal pleasure reads, but also some of the oldest books Lelia had ever laid eyes on. She was too afraid to touch them, terrified that she might accidentally tear a page or that they would crumble to pieces in her hands.

She walked up and down the rows, over and over, just reaching out to feel the less delicate of the books, making believe she could absorb their knowledge just by touch, a little grin appearing on her face as she would think "I know German now, oh now I know the history of ancient Rome, and there, now I can recite to you every aspect of neutrinos."

When she rounded a corner to the books on the supernatural, she really began to focus, looking for any books that might explain some things about her particular power. She picked out two that seemed particularly interesting, one titled "Shape shifting through history" which had a person on the cover who was changing into a wolf (which she understood was one of the more common themes in regards to people changing into animals, since even she knew what a werewolf was) as well as a book with no picture on the cover titled "Controlling the change: A beginners guide to animal transformation."

She was so focused on the books as she walked towards the checkout counter, that she didn't notice the person in her way, and she bumped into them, sending her books flying to the ground and causing her to begin apologizing profusely before she had even registered who she had hit.

"Sorry, sorry, I was lost in thought, I'm so sorry, please don't be angry!"

Saturday, 9/24

Who: Gabby and Dr. Skyler
Where: The infirmary
When: Saturday afternoon
Why: Gabby is an idiot who can't sit still.

Gabby really had been trying to follow the rules laid out by the nurse in the infirmary. She really, really was. The biggie was stay still unless she absolutely had to move around. Well, that just wasn't going to work out with a girl like Ms. Marshall. There was a school to explore, a computer lab to trek to, and a lot of things that just didn't mesh well with staying in bed.

Saturday afternoon came around, and it seemed like as good a time as any for an experiment. Gabby was in her room, about to head down to the computer lab again, when she decided that she'd try to walk without the aid of the irritating crutch. Setting it aside, she slowly shifted her weight to her bad leg. It hurt, but not too awfully. Then she took one step. All was well. Another. No problem. Maybe she didn't need the crutch after all.

And then the third step. It felt like a muscle in her leg literally twisted. Not like a cramp, but something far worse. She let out a hiss from the pain and reeled forward, trying to catch herself on the bed. She missed and fell to her knees, which drew a cry from her lips. The stitches on the wound in her thigh had quite literally torn out, and blood was seeping through the bandage at an alarming rate. On top of that, she'd tried to break her fall with her arms, which had caused her to strain her wounded left shoulder. She felt a sharp pain and then warmth. It was bleeding as well.

"Shit," she muttered, staying on the ground for a moment before pulling herself up on the bed, grabbing the crutch. She needed to go to the infirmary again. Having been lounging in her room for most of the morning, she was wearing athletic shorts and a t-shirt with sneakers. It was a fairly usual uniform for her. The walk to the infirmary was a freaking long one. When she finally did get there, the bandage on her leg was literally soaked through, and thin rivulets of blood were trailing down over her knee and down her calf.

"Hello?" she called, no panic at all in her voice. If anyone looked at her, they'd think she was seeking care for a paper cut. "Is anyone in here?"

Friday--9/14/07

Who: Gabby and Nox
What: Explaining current limitations in the world of athletic classes
Where: Nox's office
When: Friday, after lunch

The nurse had finally and begrudgingly released Gabby on her own recognizance with the stipulations that she returned every morning to have her wounds and bandages checked until told otherwise. Rules like that were manageable as long as she didn't have to remain confined to a bed night and day. Her first stop had been her dorm room, which definitely needed some homey touches. She'd get right to that as soon as she managed to get into her bank account. Maybe one of the professors or administrators had contacts within the government or something that could help handle a situation like that. She really had no idea.

After getting her very few belongings settled, she decided to go take care of some necessary business. Her more academically oriented classes wouldn't be a problem, but ever the avid athlete, Gabby had decided to go ahead and register for several phys ed courses and felt like speaking to the professors about her temporary limitations might be a good idea. It was part of her personality as a student to always be polite and approach professors about any possible conflicts or problems before the course actually began. Call her a teacher's pet, but she'd always prided herself on being a good student.

Her left arm was in a sling to support the shot-up shoulder, and she braced the weight of her injured right leg on a crutch tucked beneath her right arm. It didn't leave a lot of leeway to carry around papers or any sort, but she really hoped she'd be able to at least limp reliably to class without a crutch soon enough that she wouldn't have to worry about it. For now, though, she memorized the office number and the most direct parth to Professor Alekos and set off across the campus.

Huh. It was bigger than she expected. By the time she made it to the professor's office, her arm was throbbing and she was pretty sure one of the stitches in her leg might have come a little bit loose. Not enough to bleed through a bandage, but enough that the nurse would probably have a few stern words with her the next morning. Sighing, she knocked on the office door, hoping that he was there and she hadn't just hobbled across the campus for nothing.

Sunday - 9/9/07

Who: Rez and Gabby
When: Afternoon
Where: The Infirmary
What: There are some places that one shouldn't take a skateboard, even if they are a professional.

So maybe it was his own stupidity that had landed him here, but Rez wasn't exactly know for being the brightest bulb in the box. One of the guys that he had become friends with last semester had just gotten back to the school and they had decided to go outside and skate a few rails. Of course Rez was a complete and total show off and he couldn't pass up the opportunity to school the kid on a few new tricks he had picked up when he had been here mostly by himself over the break.

But he skipped when he should have hopped and he face planted right on one of the concrete stairs. Talking about PAIN! And Jesus Christ there was a lot of blood! Of course he was used to that. He had been in more accidents than he could count in his twenty-four years of life. But everybody else freaked out about it. The guy took off into a sprint to find a staff member and before he could tell them that he would be fine, he was being hauled off to the infirmary so that Nurse Hatchet Face could have a look at it. Fuck! He really hated this place!

"Don't move!" The professor warned with a stern look and a finger in the face after seeing him to a bed. They knew him too well in this place. He often times just took off the minute they were gone after an injury and didn't bother having it looked at at all. Miss Swann had had a talk with him about that more than once because of the whole liability issue or whatever.

He rolled his eyes in response. "Yeah, yeah, yeah." The words were muffled by the sound of the blood tissue that he held up to his nose and mouth but the Professor got the gist of it at least and left him be to sit and wait and be annoyed.

The girl in the room was so quiet that he didn't actually notice her there, and it wasn't like she was in the bed right next to his or anything, but all the way across the room instead. So as he sat there, swinging his feet off the end of the bed and moving his head to the song that was playing inside of it, he decided to pass the time with a little bit of song.

"I don't want anybody else. When I think about you, I touch myself. O-o-ohhh I don't want anybody else. Oh no, oh no, oh no." It started out soft at first, and then he got a bit louder. "You're the one who makes me come running. You're the sun who makes me shine! When you're around I'm always laughing. I wanna make you mii---Oh shit!" That was when he spotted her.

"Wow. Uh.. I thought I was alone." He sort of chuckled. "How embarrassing...."
