Charlie Edwards was not very receptive to therapy, a fact that Alex was finding out very quickly. She was stubborn, insanely so, and he had barely managed to get a word out of her this afternoon during their session. But he was still hopeful that he would be able to break through. She wanted to talk. He could tell that much. She just... needed a little time to trust him, that was all.

Alex was just dropping Charlie off on campus since Riley had a few more hours to work. The plan was that Charlie would sit in Riley's office while he did some paperwork and then they would go home together. She had even brought a book to keep her entertained in the meantime, but something happened the very instant that she stepped into the room.

"Hey Riley," Alex said, a smile upon his lips as he stepped into the room. "We made it both in one piece," he teased as he looked over at the girl who was standing beside him staring at Riley as though she was looking through him. He was just about to ask her to step out of the room so that he could talk to Riley alone for a moment before Charlie spoke.

"What the fuck..." The words came out as a whisper, her brow furrowing slightly.

Upon hearing her speak, Alex looked at her, his own brow furrowing with confusion. "Charlie, is everything alright?"

She wasn't even hearing him. Charlie scoffed, opening her mouth as if she were going to speak and then she closed it again. Her face was going red, as it always did when she was angry, her body language tensing up as she stared hard at Riley. "What the fuck?!?! Who the fuck was she?"

So Lloyd's fiance that he didn't even know he had was coming over, and suffice to say he was freaking out just a little bit. The newly dyed blonde strands of hair were gelled, then ungelled, then ruffled to their sexiest best and shit he had no clothes! Four hours lasted far too long. Too much strange shit was happening. A spell, or something, and now some fiance who sounded reall sexy and talk of sex slavery.... to think that Lloyd had believed this to be a field trip test by his University Course now seemed laughable, for as he waited impatiently he finally realised there were pictures of him looking much older dotted around the room. This was trippy. This was more than trippy... but he'd wait for answers.

Alex was nervous and excited and anxious when he finally made it to Danvers to pick up Lloyd. His heart was about to race out of his chest though he looked as calm and collected as he could as he knocked on the other man's door dressed in his very best suit. Everything was set. The reservations were made for dinner, dancing and a room to follow at Scullers Jazz Club and he was looking forward to a wonderful night. This week had been a crazy one, and he was most definitely looking forward to some quality time with Lloyd.

A smile immediately formed upon his lips when the other man opened the door. He inhaled a breath and then said in a soft exhale, "You look.... breathtaking." That was all he could manage before he simply had to kiss him, pulling him tight and close as his lips eagerly closed the distance, a soft growl vibrating against Lloyd's full lips as the hand at his back clutched at him needfully.

"God, I've missed you." It'd been less than a week but it felt like forever and a part of that had to do with their current state of flux coming to an end. He was so happy that it was done and over with, that the sell was in process and he had already procured employment back where he belonged, with the man that he loved. Now all they needed to do was find a house over Winter break and things would be... extraordinary.

This was not a conversation that he wanted to have, but he needed to. He had given this a lot of thought and while he had every reason in the world to turn his back on his family, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Two wrongs didn't make a right. That's what he had always told his patients. And now he had to recall that lesson for himself. His mother and grandmother couldn't make it on their own. They couldn't survive if he sold the family business, as he had planned to do. So now, it was up to him to head back home and get it back on its feet, and find someone to fill the void that his grandfather's death had left behind. This was the plan. And he had no idea how long it was going to take.

He had asked Lloyd to come over as soon as he was done for the day. He was sure the man thought it would be something fun, something happy, but he was in for a surprise. The least he could do was tell him in person that he was going to leave him, after saying he never would, for an indeterminable amount of time, in order to secure the future of two women who had never given a damn about his own. He didn't expect this to go well, not at all, and he could feel his body tense up the moment he heard the other man's footsteps heading toward his door.

Alex had been distracted all day long after the conversation with Lloyd. Of course he had been distracted before that too, thinking about what had happened the night before. He was glad that Lloyd had decided to talk to him though. He felt better getting that out into the open not to mention he was looking forward to their plans for this evening.

Alex arrived at the club at precisely 8, passing a few of the employees on the way out who thanked him for an early night off. He smiled a little, a slight blush forming in his cheeks, and gave them all a nod in return. By the time he made it out onto the main floor, the club was empty, save one man that he was sure was still in the place, though he didn't see him about just yet. He was certain he'd be out in just a moment.

In the meantime, he made himself at home, finding his way over to the bar to pour himself a drink, Jameson's on ice. He would need a few more where that came from if he was going to do what he'd come here with the intention of doing. Or at least for part of it...

Upset was too simple a word to describe the way that Alex felt right now. He was... devastated. And while the man was generally good at hiding his emotions, he couldn't do it this time, not right now, and he looked like he was on the breaking point as he made his way through the halls of the school to Lloyd's office.

He didn't knock. Hopefully the other man wasn't busy. Upon entering, he had the vague thought that it was good that he didn't have a patient with him, but right now, he wasn't particularly concerned with inconveniencing anyone.He needed Lloyd right now. Maybe he'd have some... idea of what could be done, though at this point, he didn't think there was much of anything he could do.

"She's being deported." The words came from his lips before Lloyd would even have time to ask what was going on, and he immediately began to pace. "She called and there was something wrong with her papers, I really don't know the whole story, but her citizenship was apparently temporary and it's run out now and they're sending her back to Kiev!"

They had been on the road for about an hour before the fuel light came on on Alex's car. He'd thought he would have enough to make it the whole way to his grandparents' house, it was only another forty minutes away after all, but he was wrong. So he pulled into the next fueling station he came across and pulled up to the pump to fill it up.

Looking over at Lloyd, words could not express how unbelievably glad he was to have him with him. He couldn't imagine going alone. He would have, of course, had he no other choice, but this was definitely better. And just thinking about it prompted him to lean over and press a kiss against the other man's lips before he pulled away with a smile.

"Need anything from inside?" Of course he was welcome to go in if he wanted or needed to. "We've got a little under an hour before we're there if traffic holds up." It was clear by the look that crossed his face just then that he wasn't looking forward to getting there. In fact, he almost hoped for some strange event to happen, to slow them up, to stay them in their tracks, to give him an excuse for not arriving, but only if it was a good one.

He'd been in his office when he'd gotten the call, fortunately there had not been a patient in the room with him. He hadn't known how to feel about it. He still didn't know how to feel about it. He was partially angry and partially just in a panic. There was but one thing to be done, however. He was going to have to go to Cape Cod, and he was going to have to leave as soon as possible.

Quick steps had carried him back to his apartment which was where he was currently. He couldn't think. He had to pack and... ugh, normally he had a list made whenever he was going somewhere. But there had been no time! And instead he had his suitcase on the bed, a few things blindly tossed into it as he rummaged around his closet, tearing clothes off of hangers and throwing them down as he desperately searched for one thing in particular.

"Where the fuck is it?" With all these different emotions swirling around, he was having a hard time keeping himself composed. And it was in a sudden fit of anger that he grabbed a box from the bottom of his closet and then hurled it across the room, the box crashing into the bedroom wall before falling to the floor, the contents spilling out all over the place.

There were some facts that could not be denied. And the fact that Alex missed Lloyd when he wasn't around was one of those facts. But he was at the club tonight, working, getting the place ready, doing whatever it was that he did there, and Alex was at home alone. It was boring, lonely, and after a while, he decided how best to remedy that. He was going to pay Lloyd a surprise visit.

Dressed in a pair of tight fitting, well worn jeans and a blue-gray, short sleeved button up that brought out the color of his eyes, Alex headed into Boston shortly after ten pm. It didn't take him long to find the place as he and Lloyd had discussed it a few times, and parking was fairly easy to come by. The location was great, he had to admit, and he could imagine a lot of success in the club's future as he walked, hands tucked into pockets, down the street from his car and in through a side door.

There were a few people milling about the place, working on this or that, yelling at one another from across the room. Blue eyes scanned the place noting not only the way it looked inside, but also seeking out his other half, though he wasn't quite sure they'd been an item long enough for him to really call him that. But he didn't see him, and so he walked up to a nearby member of the staff and asked, "Can you tell me where I can find Lloyd?"

Alex had woken up because Lloyd wasn't there anymore. He'd rolled over to drape his arm across the other man only to find his side of the bed empty. As consciousness overcame him, eyes fluttering open, he could hear the other man's voice in the distance. He was in another room talking to someone. Alex lay there for a moment longer, listening for a second voice but heard none. He was on the phone. Glancing at the clock, he frowned a little. It was early, and immediately he was worried that something was wrong.

Waiting for the sound of the other man's voice to come to an end, signaling the end of the phone call, Alex pushed himself up out of bed. His feet and chest were bare, dressed only in a pair of plaid pajama pants, as he made his way from the bedroom and into the kitchen where the other man stood, pouring a glass of wine. "Everything okay?" A phone call and a glass of wine in the middle of the night. That was never a good sign.

Ok so a number of things had not been anticipated. Alex being funny, for one. Alex being gay for another. And Alex making him stop crying. Lloyd had been in tears the moment he stepped through to his apartment every day since Monday, the minute he was cloaked in silence. It was possibly the silence that got him. Expressing his feelings to Alex made him seem a little better. At least he was now showering, preening and getting ready. Quietly - he didn't want Alex to hear him blitzing his home in preparation for his visit.

A tap on the wall... right. That was the signal. There were refreshments on the table. Lloyd's eyes still looked puffy. But he needed company, and the guy had done him the service of listening to him moan. The least he could do was grace him with hospitality.
