Wednesday: October/8/08
Who: Cherry (Molly) and Roake
When: Wednesday early evening
Where: starting in Lynn Woods (about ten miles south of Danvers)
What: a rescue mission, sorta
As soon as Cherry's car ran out of gas from turning it on every so often to warm up, she knew she'd have to call someone for help. She'd considered all her options, not really liking any of them, when Roake came to mind. He was ideal because he didn't really care about her. Well, he didn't care more than the average goodhearted stranger. They were civil, but hadn't spent much time together since he'd rejected her advances. Now that she'd truly be rejected, her heart broken, she needed someone detached from the situation to help her. Friends and family would worry too much or try to coddle her, and Cherry couldn't handle that right now. She just wanted a ride back to campus, and maybe a place to crash for the night, because going back to her own apartment was an unappealing idea.
It didn't take long for Roake to arrive, and that was truly a blessing and miracle. It surprised Cherry that he'd been able to borrow Garret's abilities so quickly and use them to find her. She wondered if Roake explained himself, for if it had been a bump and run sort of thing. It really didn't matter at this point. She was cold and ready to jump into a heated car.
Grabbing her bag, phone and keys, Cherry hopped out of her SUV and into Roake's car. She looked a total wreck, and it was obvious she'd been crying a lot and was cold. It was also clear she'd not showered in two days, her brunette locks pulled into a haphazard ponytail. "Thanks," she said softly, giving Roake a weak smile.
