The lower level of the recreation room held a spread of food to satisfy all palettes. Vegan, sweet tooth or vampire, there was something for everyone, buffet style and spread over every available foot of space. On the upper level was a massive, multi-room spread dance floor with thumping bass and flashing lights. The indoor track catered more the the college students, with club music and fewer decorations, and the ones it did have would creep out death himself. In the basketball court, high school students would find spooky decor and pop music and a well lit environment to ensure that all hands stayed where they belonged. Chaperones mingled throughout the dance rooms, keeping watch over the students and making sure the college students didn't get drunk and that the high school students didn't sneak into the college dance.

Of course, it's almost impossible to keep watch over everything all the time...

Maggie was excited. With Nathaniel's abilities, he could probably shift just like her, and then she'd have someone to run around with as a moose. It would be fun! She didn't think it would be too hard to transform into a moose. They weren't all that different looking from big deer, and she could do a deer. Sadly, the females didn't have cool antlers, but that was okay. She'd still have fun.

She threw on some loose sweats and flip flops, stuff that was easy to strip out of, because she had to get naked when she shifted. Then Maggie hurried to Nathaniel's room. She knocked and called to him, "It's Maggie!" The blond was feeling extra bouncy, totally ready to get out and run around.

What: swimming, hot tubbing, probably some smoochin'

Maggie had really reached her limit with homework for the night. She still had a bit more to do, but her brain was melting. She needed a break. A swim and some lighthearted fun with Kael was just what the doctor ordered. And, well, she was serious that he could quiz her on math! If he was good at it like his brother, then she could use his help.

She changed quickly into her bikini and then threw on some sweat pants, t-shirt, and hoodie with it for the commute to the rec center. After slipping on her flip flops and pocketed her keys and phone, she set off. It would be silly to put on makeup or do her hair when she was gonna be getting in the pool. Right? And Kael didn't seem like he wanted a fussy sort of girl. She could dress nice when she wanted to, but she could also be really casual.

She showed up to the pool room and immediately grabbed one of the available towels before she started stripping out of the clothes that had kept her warm for the walk over.

Nathaniel had woken up at the crack of dawn and since his room was sparse and the internet was only mildly interesting to him, he decided to play by himself. He didn't want to wake up Remington or Candi, so he set out into the halls. But he had walked the halls so many times that he felt like he knew them inside out, and there was nothing to learn. And since it was Sunday and the school wasn't teaching things, and the library was closed, Nathaniel grew so bored that he decided to practice his magic. Remington had told him he needed to get better at it, and what better time than when no one else seemed to be awake?

After a bit of practice (and a few spills in the boarding school dorms), Nathaniel had managed to create himself an impressive ball made of water and was bouncing it between his hands as he walked, his eyes lit up and a huge grin on his face. Rounding a corner, he almost walked into someone walking, and he let out a surprised squeak. "Oh!" he declared, then held out his water ball. "Lookit what I did!!!"

Maggie had only been a little nervous the other night when she and Kael went into Boston to hang out. Because it was just a friendly meet up. Sorta. Though it had turned into more of a date as they spent time together. But tonight? She'd definitely invited him over with the implication that it was meant to be MORE than friendly. It was clear she'd been flirting when she said he should come visit her. So, naturally, she was flipping out.

She scrambled to put an away message up and then leapt from her bed to start rummaging through her clothes. She needed to put on something cute. And her hair was a mess. Loose curls going nuts from taking a shower earlier and letting it air dry however it wanted. She wasn't wearing makeup either. What the hell was wrong with her! She should have planned this better.

She changed into some shorts and a tank top, but wasn't fully happy with it. It would have to do for now though. Because the lack of makeup was a bigger problem. Maggie quickly swept on some mascara and lipgloss, the essentials, and then fussed with her hair before realizing it wasn't happening right now. Because that's when there was a knock at the door. Shit!

Maggie groaned at her reflection in the mirror before rushing over to greet Kael. She smiled awkwardly as she opened the door and leaned back against the frame. "Hey," she said, the nerves clear in her voice. "Uh.. come in."

What: road trip and hanging out

It was a somewhat chilly night, though maybe that was just Maggie. She was like her uncle in that she was nearly always cold as a vampire. But Maggie REFUSED to wear winter clothes just yet. Fall, okay, but not winter. She wasn't ready for its arrival. Besides, fall and spring fashion were soooo much cuter. Though she'd kept her fashion sense a little bit at bay tonight, because she didn't want to look like she was trying too hard when meeting Kael. Leather pants were bold though, but it was hard for her to realize that anymore, because Maggie's taste in fashion had been groomed at an early age by Ava and Ana. At least her t-shirt and jacket were laid back.

She headed out to the parking lot as she and Kael had discussed and leaned up against the side of her car. Okay, so maybe it did look like she was trying to hard, because the leather pants and beautifully restored muscle car made her look awfully tough. Oh well. It wasn't intentional! Besides, she'd had the car for ages. It never changed. And if she'd dressed girly tonight, she might have clashed with its classic looks.

Ugh, she was over thinking this! Maggie tried to relax and stop worrying. She'd not thought much about how she might feel about Kael until Cassie went and started nudging her into thinking that sort of stuff. Maggie just wanted to make new friends. But now she was wondering if he was cute. So pointless!

Maggie was totally nervous about seeing Lyle tonight, and she'd never been nervous around him before. Suddenly there were all these feelings when she thought about him. Maggie wasn't new to having feelings for boys, nor was she innocent. But this was intense and different. It felt like she loved him. Maybe she'd loved him all along. He'd been her sponsor when she was a senior in high school last year, and he tutored her in math outside of class because she really struggled with the subject. But now, well, she didn't see him as a teacher or confidant anymore. She thought he was simply amazing and sexy, and she wanted to do all sorts of terrible things with him!

That was perhaps the strangest part, because Maggie had sworn off sex after several bad experiences with Devon. Not that he was bad. He was wonderful and patient. She really loved him, though it was more as a best friend. But who wanted to lose their virginity each and every time they had sex? Not Maggie! It hurt, and it would always hurt. So while she had desires, the pain worked as negative conditioning to make her avoid such things.

But maybe it would be different with Lyle. Or maybe she could just block out the pain. Something. She wanted him. And she hoped that the little black dress she picked would make him want her. She fixed her hair in a way that looked quite grown-up, and she did her makeup in a similar fashion. Sure, they were just watching a movie in her dorm room, so it might look a little odd for her to be dolled up like this, but she'd worn a ball gown to his place last night just for fun. Maybe he wouldn't suspect anything and would just be enchanted by her bombshell appearance. Hoping to add to the ambience, she lit a bunch of candles and turned out the lights.

What: they need some family time

Charlie was still angry with Ava, and he figured he might always be, but his rage had been quenched for the time being by killing her sire. Saul was primarily to blame for what happened to Maggie. Charlie knew that. But that didn't make it any easier to cope with the fact that she'd been turned against her will by Ava. Logic couldn't heal the hurt he felt. It also couldn't ease the pain now felt by the twins and his niece now that their bloodline had been severed.

Maggie wasn't in as much pain as Ava and Ana, but she did suffer, and she was growing more upset as the reality of her new lot in life settled in. After talking with Ava, he packed up some things for himself and Maggie, along with Cassius and Edelweiss, and the group headed over to Ava's campus apartment for a sleep over.

"You're not gonna fight more, are you?" Maggie asked as she dragged her feet. She felt somewhat weak.

"I can't promise that, Maggie."

"Can you try," she pleaded as she hugged Edelweiss' furry body to her chest.

Charlie nodded. "I can try. We're going over there because it will make you all feel better. I don't want them suffering any more than I want you suffering.. angry or not."

Maggie was quiet then, and she let Charlie knock on the door lightly when they arrived. Ava said the door would be open, so he turned the knob a second later and let Cassius run inside. The dog seemed to know that he was expected to be calm and quickly find a place to settle, so he did. He got comfortable on a rug under the dining table. Maggie didn't let go of Edelweiss. Now that the cat wasn't afraid of her anymore, she carried the furball around as a security blanket of sorts. "Go find Ava," Charlie told Maggie as he leaned in to kiss the top of her head and send her on his way. When she was off, he went to see Ana.

He found her in the spare room curled up in bed. "Hey," Charlie said softly as he sat on the edge of the bed and put his hand on her gently.

What: mini vamp is having trouble sleeping, but she knows how to sleepwalk!

Sleep shifting wasn't something new, nor was sleepwalking. Maggie did both from time to time when she was dreaming about being one of the various animal forms she'd mastered. But this was the first time it had happened since being turned into a vampire. With visions of hunting in a forest playing out in her head, Maggie's body morphed into that of a black panther. The transformation caused her pajamas to rip from her body. Her ears and whiskers twitched. Her paws flexed and batted at invisible prey. And then suddenly, without warning, she leapt up and off the bed. She was still sleeping. Still dreaming of prey. And, as an expert predator, she was extremely stealthy as she moved out of her bedroom.

Awhile back, Charlie had changed the door handles to make it so Maggie could actually open them while transformed. The plan seemed really fucking stupid right now, given that Maggie was able to slip out with ease and through the hallway. Cracked doors and windows were her friend as she made her way outside, driven by the need to find real prey. Eventually, she woke up, but it was gradual, and instincts had kicked in, so she didn't think to go back. Maggie was hungry.

Even though she'd had a 'physical' sort of day with blades and swimming, Maggie was still filled with nervous energy. She couldn't seem to sit still, probably because she was still nervous about the anonymous flowers that arrived earlier in the week. Who sent them? Were they meant as a thoughtful gift or a threat? She'd been hiding a lot at her Aunt Ava's place, but simply sitting there only seemed to make things worse. She needed to get out.

So she left a note for her aunt and decided to go out for a run around campus. She'd be safe so long as she stayed on school property, right? Teleporters couldn't get through the school's magical defenses. Well, most teleporters couldn't. She knew that Peyton was able to, but Peyton was different. Alejandro wouldn't be able to pop in unannounced.

She headed for the stables first, thinking she could visit Iron Man before her run, but didn't make it there before running into a kind face. Myron. He was nice and funny and usually made her smile. Maybe he'd be able to cheer her up and ease her fears. "Hey, Myron!" she said with a wave and a warm grin.

Charlie got a call from Maggie the night before, telling him that she had invited Harlow to come over for their usual Sunday breakfast. Charlie and Maggie shared a lot of meals throughout the week, but Sunday morning breakfast was the main one, the rest were impromptu. He was busy mixing the pancake batter while Peyton helped herself to his video game collection.

She was a terrible house guest, but it was a comfort having her close by. He didn't know when he might need her teleporting ability, so he'd worked out an arrangement with her to live with him for the time being. The study had a twin sized bed that Maggie used when she stayed over, so it worked as a suitable guest room for Peyton to occupy. She'd definitely made herself at home. The room was a disaster.

All the noise from the TV wasn't enough to distract the vampire with excellent hearing when a knock came at the door. It had to be Harlow, because Maggie didn't knock. He set the mixing bowl aside and wiped his hands on his jeans, heading over to open the door. Tiny and blond, Harlow kind of reminded him of Maggie. He smiled at her and opened the door wide. "Hey, I'm Charlie. You beat Maggie.. but she'll probably be here in a second." Cassius, who had been munching on Peyton's crumbs (she was a slob), hopped up from his spot on the floor below her feet and walked over to greet the newcomer. He sniffed at Harlow and then nudged her leg for attention. "That's Cassius.. he's a sucker for cute girls."

Trevor was still not comfortable at the school, sure his family thought it was a great idea for him to enroll, control his beast yada yada but he didn't want to be there...all those fucking people. So he got out of the building and started stalking the grounds, looking for anything interesting. Random critters and shifters pretending to be critters, creepy looking buildings and then he found the stable. The boy had never been near a real horse before so he slowly walked up to them, hoping his lion wouldn't scare the crap out of them. "Hey boy, I won't hurt you." He said softly as he walked towards the large animal.

Where: Devon's new room!
What: a slumber party of awesomeness!!!!!

Maggie was SO EXCITED! She couldn't remember the last time she'd been this excited. It was a real slumber party in the older kids' dorms with Devon, who was turning out to be her very best friend ever. She still totally loved Kamea, but Kamea was quite a bit younger. Devon felt more like her age, though he was older. They had a lot in common and understood each other.

She jogged through the hallways in her pajamas (pink flannel pants with red hards on them and a pink Motown t-shirt from her uncle Charlie), carrying a bag with chips, soft drinks and TWO kinds of ice cream (vanilla and chocolate). She didn't want to be late for all the fun, though she supposed the fun wouldn't start until she got there since it was just her and Devon.

When she reached his room, she knocked enthusiastically. "It's me!"

When: LAST Thursday
Where: Fox's room
What: Maggie gets a lesson of sorts ;)

Maggie was confused by Fox's post. Why did he want cameras installed in another student's room? And why was he complaining about the noise? She noticed comments on his post were equally confusing, and it seemed Fox was unwilling to outright explain it to her. Everyone was dancing around the topic at hand with vague references to whatever was going on. Was it a party? She wanted to know! A party would be fun.

Heading out of her own room, she headed for the older students' dorms and Fox's room. Maggie heard noises that she didn't recognize. Screaming, names, some moaning. She knocked loudly on Fox's door. It sounded like someone might be in trouble! As soon as he opened the door, she looked at him with wide eyes and grabbed his hand. "It sounds like a fight.. or someone hurt. We should go get security to help!" She was genuinely worried. Maybe she should call Uncle Charlie.
