Monday, November 5, 2007 Who: Ava and Nathaniel Where: the cafeteria and then who knows When: dinner time What: vampire picnic! except not.
It had not been very long since he told Frankie and Nathaniel felt numb. A whole blanket of numbness fell over him, everything became monotonous, and if he hadn't had to go to class, he would not have gotten out of bed. He needed to eat, yes, that was still very important, and right now it was nearing dinner. He had eaten so regularly before that he only grew hungry at precise times and he left his room to head towards the cafeteria.
He should not stay for long because if he saw Frankie, it'd only hurt more, but then again he needed to see her if only for a moment. Maybe that was not going to happen; he had to hope it did. Nathaniel had not realized how much seeing Frankie often meant to him and going without was like breaking off pieces of his heart and crushing them beneath someone's foot. So without enjoyment, he took his blood and headed to one of the tables. He did not drink yet. Instead, he stared at the red liquid before him, his dark hair falling over his forehead.
The daily reminder he was different. Now, surprisingly, he cared less about drinking blood and more about the horrible urges that came with bloodlust. How easy it was to lose control - no, he would never let that happen again. No more people he loved being hurt, so he would control himself fiercely for the rest of his life. He knew that before and his opinion was confirmed doubly now. Finally he took a sip of the blood.
