The library connection is paying off. I've managed to purchase a collection of unidentified books from someone clearing out their uncle's things and I imagine that's what I'll be going through for the rest of the week, though I'd like to take another pass through the marketplace as well. Hopefully there's something worthwhile in here, but honestly even if they're all rather mundane textbooks they'll probably be interesting enough given how different this world is to mine. If it was up to me I might well keep them all. I suppose we'll see what happens.

Do you mind having some company on your marketplace pass?

No, that's fine. Two sets of eyes are better than one.

Let me know when you're heading out. The way my body is right now, everything I touch becomes ... damp. Which isn't conducive to book shopping, so I'd appreciate some help there.

After lunch tomorrow, I think.

I think I'm going to spend all of tomorrow going about the marketplace. This might be the last time I get to be in one similar to my home.

I'm just trying to take everyone's advice and stock up on as much as I can.

You might be able to save some of the dried meat, but the bread will go stale very quickly. I suppose we could put it in that frozen room?

I'll avoid perishable food where I can. Hard cheese should last a while. Jam or honey, biscotti or hardtack, dried fruits, potted meat, seasonings if they're affordable. Otherwise the things Eliot was asking about earlier in the week like clothing and alcohol, maybe some basic weapons or whatever tools look like they could come in handy. I wouldn't mind some tools for making quick maps of places we end up, either. Compasses and calipers.

People seem to have gotten a lot of money, but herbs and the like were highly prized in my sphere. Cintra was good for growing them though.

But hardtack is disgusting. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I know I managed to sell quite a lot of the things I was able to make, which will help quite a bit.

I'd definitely prefer biscotti if I can find any. It's similar to hardtack with the double baking but there are more ingredients, like sugar, egg, almonds. Not quite so much like eating brick.

I got this weird bag, but when I reached in, a goat came out of it. So if you see a goat running around the Green, don't hurt it!

I don't think I've really had biscotti? Or at least it wasn't called that.

I've seen references to things like that. It could be a bag of tricks, maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised if you hadn't. At home it's from Italy and it's not very common in most of the rest of the world. But baking it twice takes out enough moisture for it to last a long time.
