NO EXITS

Based on my exploration outside the valley and what other people have described I've come up with a map showing the area to hopefully help anyone still trying to find the place.



I personally think the north-eastern entrance is the easiest to find - if you look carefully among the trees you can see the beginnings of the path where the vegetation on the ground has stopped growing. It might be worth some of us cutting the trees there down to make it more visible, especially since we'll need the wood anyway to improve our shelter. I'm also wondering if we should prioritise putting some kind of gate up on each entrance to keep the nastier things out, but it would need to be pretty sturdy and made of stone at the least. At least the bizarrely simplified version of building things we have here doesn't seem to allow for poor construction quality. It's just all either there or it's not.

I haven't heard anyone mention finding the Derleth campus, so I'm going out on a limb and assuming that we may not find one. And if we do, it may not be in a condition that will sustain us. We should consider that we're going to have to make our own shelter, but I'd like to suggest that we don't do this alone.

It might be easy to make fabric and clothing, weapons, but if we pool our resources, I bet we can build better things to house us all. Something stronger. We can protect each other, make patrols for the creatures so we're not blindly being killed an reset.

I've found an area that seems to relatively safe, compared to the other places I've been traveling here. It's a valley, hidden by trees and hills. There's a lake in the center of it. If we're going by Earth direction, I'd say it's northeast and directly east of the largest frozen mountain I could find. Hopefully that gives you somewhere to go. I think we should all convene here if we can. There is safety in numbers here, and I want us to have our best chance.

Okay, so here is my recap of day one in this place.

I checked out the little gem thing in my arm and managed to figure out what to do and make, and I got a bunch of different items from collecting stuff around here. I think I got very well into the task and then got attacked by that giant cat that Sam was talking about. Got a few jabs in but it just overpowered me.

So basically, I saw the moon in the sky when I woke up that looks like its a few days away from the full moon so, head's up??

Oh, yeah, and I might need help looking for my body. I want my stuff back.

This is fucking new — did we get thrown into Jurassic Park?

This sure was a lovely way to find out that I'm not used to roughing it anymore. I've been spoiled by the amenities of a magic mansion for far too long. I have managed to cobble together a decent shelter at least.

Has anyone made any educated guesses about how large this island is?

HOLY FUCK

WARNING!: There are giant fucking cats hiding in those big redwood trees that attack by jumping down on you. Flying just puts you closer to them. Good thing I've had a lot of practice dodging things out of the air but usually I don't have to sacrifice most of the fish I'd collected to appease them afterwards.

I'm near a shoreline, probably southern based on where the sun rose this morning. I'm going to work on putting together some shelter before nightfall, and figure out food.

Additionally, for any of you that might be in the area: I put a sort of small fort-like structure from some sticks I found on the beach near where I am, so if you walk the shoreline, you'll probably eventually stumble across that, and I'm near there.

There are definitely things out there, and it might be easier to deal with them in a group if we can get a small group of us together.

Alright, somethings I have discovered. Would possibly be the same for the rest of you.

I died. My light beam attracted a large creature. I only know this because as someone had indicated earlier, it felt like losing consciousness and waking up later. And I only know I died for sure because I stumbled upon my own body while trying to get back to wherever I had thought I had come from.

So, yes, I suppose you do die but it's not permanent although you do lose everything including your clothes.

I will be a little more cautious but I'm putting up my light beam again.

Oh my God! I just witnessed someone getting mauled to death by what seemed to be a prehistoric creature! A dinosaur perhaps. Luckily it didn't notice me. I don't know where I am! I am not dressed for this.

Does anyone have eyes on the campus? I can locate people with magic but not the general direction of the campus.

Well, this is all wrong. Literally, almost all of it, not least of all the fact that I am currently standing underneath a partially collapsed but clearly man-made stone arch and have seen at least five different species that absolutely never co-existed.

Seriously? How am I supposed to live, laugh, love in these conditions?

I can hear a lot of big animals in the area and I've climbed up a tree that's at least six or seven feet in diameter at the base of the trunk. It must be a very old forest. I can't smell anything like gasoline or plastics either, and the canopy's too thick to see the sky properly so I can't tell if the stars are right. The only light nearby seems to be this thing in my wrist that's glowing. I'm not sure if I should try taking it out, it feels very securely embedded. I think there's swamp or bog over to my left but I won't know what direction that is until the sun comes up. There's cleaner water somewhere behind me to the right, too.

On the seventh day at precisely 1:32 AM, the campus once more resets. Everyone trapped in the experiment falls unconscious (if not sleeping already) only to wake up…

I am so sorry I could not be there to greet you myself, but I trust you'll find your way around soon enough. Most of the students have not yet arrived for the new semester and so I've arranged for [your?] lodging on campus. You'll find a key in your pocket. Just like old times, eh?

Should the experiment go as planned, for one week we will be able to displace time and space itself. I believe with my calculations we will be able to control the effects and no one shall be the wiser. To anyone not directly involved it will be imperceptible.
