[Sometime in the night, a grim scene is set out in the lobby of the Passages Hotel.

Stale water with a horrible dead smell has been thrown out on the carpet by the bucketful, or, as it turns out, by the jug-ful, as the cheap blue ones used to cart water away from grocery machines are left to one side. Dead fish had been left in the jugs to make the water rancid before they were emptied.

Black gravel, three bags of pebbles colored for fish tanks, has been emptied atop the mouldering carpet, making it glisten as if watered and wet.

A torn piece of material is left on display in the center of the mess, probably once white, limp and eye-catching in the most unavoidable way. An assembly of torn tulle, ivory netting, and stained silk, a ballerina's costume. It's horribly stained with rust down one side, viciously ripped, and weighed down with an equally stained rock the size of a bowling ball like that of thousands in the desert mountains within sight of the city.

The blood is human, and there's much too much of it.]

While I am not certain which side of the door you are currently on, it is likely best to avoid the hotel lobby in Las Vegas for the time. Someone has made quite a state of it.

For anyone wishing to venture to Passages today, please be careful when you first arrive. There is a rather surprising and unnecessary scene in the lobby and I'm not sure when or how it will be cleaned up. For those of you with a weak stomach, I would advise against visiting the hotel for the moment.

Just so you are aware, the lobby of Passages has been turned into a rather disgusting scene. It smells rancid and there is a great deal of blood. I'm not sure how squeamish you are. Does anyone know a ballerina
