Before I continue, I would like to make clear that my relationship with my mother left off in a bad place. I rationally know you are not her, but navigating this whole scenario leaves me with a conundrum. If we don't speak now, I might wonder on what you might have said. If we do, I have to deal with that fact that whatever you say will possibly leave me more frustrated with her. Neither seems ideal, but bad decisions are a theme of Derleth.
