It doesn't look like things are slowing down, so I think we should take precautions and start moving people and supplies up to the floating island. It might be overkill, but I'd rather be safe than soaked. We'll get you back down or into the upper levels of the apartments if it stops.

But for now everyone get to the Defense Force headquarters. We'll gather on the roof there to head up to the island. Bring food, ponchos, whatever you might need.

I need everyone who can get to the island with flight, phasing, leaps of strength, teleporting, whatever to start ferrying people and supplies up there. I'm not just talking to the force either. [That's right, you've been enlisted.]

There's also no shelter up there and since it's obviously raining I want someone putting together a list of what we need to make a water-proof shelter up there fast. Speaking of fast, Wally consider yourself on assembly duty. While we're at it, let's make some rafts just in case. Gather up what you can find in the stores. I've never wanted to go kayaking, but that doesn't mean it's not available.

Volunteers need to respond or I'll start volunteering you.

We aren't keeping anyone at a dispatch station during this, but if anyone needs help, don't forget you have a communicator attached to your face. We'll get to you. Now, move.

[Early in the morning, Yen glances at the communicator before turning away again. It feels too strange to look at the thing before she even has anyone responding. Her long feline ears remain oriented toward it for a split moment longer than her eyes.]

[She is clearly in the art center, sitting at a table. On one side, a pile of sticks strong-looking sticks. On the other, a pile of rocks. Some of the sticks have the rocks wound onto the end, done inexpertly but patiently. It is clear that she has been at this for a while.]

[Yen is tapping the head of one of these "wands" rhythmically against her cheek as she surveys her work.]

Soooooooo. There's that fancy slice of wilderness beyond the 6th gate—I'm yearning to explore it, but I find myself short on. Well.

[Yen throws her hands up (along with the "wand") at the assorted mess of sticks and rocks around her. Her eyes widen.]

I've been talking to people and keeping an eye out and some of us are or have been affected by the pearls that were brought in from sector 6. [You know, by the green girl.]

I'm not sure exactly how they work, but they're amplifying or creating feelings in people. It could be anger or nothingness. [Those were a couple he was pretty certain about from Jack, Mal, and Korra.] But it could be more than that. It could be any emotion. [As far as he knows.]

If you have a pearl you need to get rid of it. [Driving this point home.]

It had seemed like such a good idea at the time, to just go with it and be selfish for once. It wasn't like he was actually dating anyone and Rebecca made everything feel so easy, like you could just hook up with a friend and that was it. It reminded him of when he was eighteen and new to the city and how Tessa taught him the same thing — you don't have to be madly in love with someone to bone. It's fine if it's just for fun. Now, of course, back in the apartment where he stayed most nights, he couldn't help but wonder if it really was so easy. There's always other people involved and even though he couldn't care less about what most of the dome thought of him by now, it wasn't that long ago that he broke things off with Euphie. For damn good reasons, at that! Good, emotional, mature reasons but he knows what this must look like from the outside and the last thing he ever wanted was to hurt her. It was just... he needed good things too. He needed some intimacy and warmth because heaven knows when he'd get that next, if ever.

He sighs, head leaned against his arms where he sits by the kitchen table. Boy wouldn't it be nice if he had a best friend somewhere around here who could help him straighten this mess out? ]

[Kitty decided to head to Lyrical, the karaoke bar, in sector three tonight. If she can't beat this talking too much about too many things virus or whatever it is then she can at least do it while drinking, right? It'll seem more familiar that way.

Honestly, he doesn't really know why he's asking people this. One moment he was going through the stuff he's collected since he's been in the dome, and the next he got the urge to turn the communicator on.]

I used to think we would. Back when Rob and Zatanna were still here. Before I knew what was really going on. Now I'm not so sure.

[He sighs, and shakes his head. He knows this is silly, the way he's been getting all sentimental lately. But he really misses home. He misses his family and friends that aren't here. He misses not knowing what the future holds for him.]

You may have noticed the veritable fleet of maintenance bots zipping all over the dome throughout the night, working hard to clean up the dome and set up decorations for this momentous occasion. Come morning there isn't a corner left unfestive, with brightly colored garlands hanging across the streets and wrapping around the sector gates. Even the trees have been primped for the occasion, colors changing into rich reds and oranges. Strings of light hang from the branches and lanterns line the streets, here and there broken up by a pile of stacked hay bales perfect for taking a rest on.

Of course, that is far from all! There wouldn't be much of a festival without entertainment and your loving wardens have made absolutely sure that there's something for everyone!

[Here he comes to set the mood, and by set the mood I mean cause everyone to get all angry or confused or whatever else people tend to feel when they hear the typical things he liked to say to rile people up.

Every time I think we're gonna get something exciting like a war or a riot, everything quickly goes back to the way it was before. Nobody knows how to have any fun here.

[The last thing you remember is walking through a glowing door. Whether that was a good decision or a bad one is going to depend heavily on how claustrophobic you are, because right now you are fully encased in a very streamlined, sophisticated pod. It is regulating your body temperature, monitoring your vital signs, administering nutrition and dozens of other odds and ends to keep your body functional and healthy during its stay.

You're not usually conscious for this part of things. If you were, it would be a pretty boring experience. On the plus side, there aren't any tubes or wires attached to you. Those are a little too outdated for technology like this. The other plus is that you can open your pod hatch with a push. Luckily for you, those muscles in your arms and legs haven't atrophied. That's part of the science, but it's not perfect. There will be some aching and discomfort.

Take a minute to take stock of everything. You're wearing a bodysuit you don't remember putting on. You're in a giant, spiraling room you've never set eyes on before and your powers—if you have any—are blocked. But you're not alone. There are other people pushing their own pods open or lying still and silent in theirs. In fact there is a very large number of pods. You might not recognize everyone, but that doesn't mean they weren't an inmate at one time—they were even if it was brief.

For the moment there are no bots coming for you, no alarms going off that you can hear, and no immediate threats. The space is vast and the doors aren't locked, but you also might not recognize them as doors or understand how to activate them just yet.]

[ Getting tased was not fun -- it actually made him feel some strange, crushing emotion that he had been heretofore completely unfamiliar with -- so he might as well get this "craft supplies" thing out of the way. Of course, it would help if he actually knew how to make these things... As "punishment" for leaving the beach area yesterday, I am required to share a "secret about myself". I was unsure of what exactly this entailed, as there's nothing I particularly cared to hide to begin with, but a perusal of a dictionary provided me with the definition beyond human understanding. Thus, the secret that I am going to share is this: I am the smartest human being in the world.

[ Camping out on the beach is fun, right? Sleeping under the stars, lulled to sleep by the lapping of the waves and the rustling in the palm fronds. This isn't a refugee camp, this is a resort!

Several larger tents have been prepared on the beach. If this isn't enough there's a bunch of smaller ones ready to be set up, along with the permanent beach huts if tents aren't your thing. The makings of hot dogs and s'mores are available by the fire pits and if you have additional dietary desires, the convenience store isn't far away!
