Day 357 | Video

[info]spacelike
[info]marinanova
[It was all wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The kind of wrong you know in your bones, the wrongness of blasphemy and perversion, the embodiment of everything against all good sense and logic and taste.]

[Caliborn woke up in a strange place, and his blood was green.]

[It didn't take long to figure out that he was, somehow, occupying his dead sister's lime-addled brain. What took longer was figuring out what to do about it—other than to follow the old instinct of completely trashing her things. He may be somewhere strange and he may not know a single thing about what's going on, but ruining Calliope's life is a downright nostalgic comfort.]

[It's that same comfort that he latches onto when he finds and figures out the communicator, hears a bunch of humans (and robots??) whining about something unimportant, and clears his throat to do his best Calliope impression.]

[It's awful, frankly. Anyone who has met Calliope in person knows she doesn't smirk like this, and even if you haven't, Calliope's voice isn't so—well, harsh and stilted. Every word spat out to mock, or with absurd pauses for emphasis.]

Oh, boo-hoo! Dearie me. I am sooooooo. Ugly.

I forgot how ugly I was? It's been so long since I looked at me. In the face. I even cracked my mirror?

[Caliborn flips the communicator around to show that yes, indeed, he broke a mirror. The astute and detail-oriented viewer might catch the mirror reflecting other broken things in the background, but he doesn't linger on it for long. He brings it back to his face.]

So. Who here has a cure for this condition. Of being. An "Ugly Bitch."

Day 350 | Video

[info]spacelike
[info]marinanova
[Calliope may not be a fan of showing herself on video, but that doesn't mean she can't point the communicator's camera out her apartment window. So the video's view is a lovely—picture-perfect snowfall, ice on the window in neat snowflake patterning, and everything is beautiful.]

[From behind, Calliope sighs miserably.]

I'm terribly glad that this is a one-day occurrence. Winter is, quite possibly, the worst season!

[She second-guesses herself, and makes a soft noise of doubt at her own statement.] I suppose that's unfair. Plenty of people enjoy it, and I suppose it's not as if we have to worry about clothing or firewood or food.

But...!

[Calliope lets that "but" hang, since she feels like she's complaining too much. It's so hard, given how much she commiserated and bonded with others during Demeleier's endless wet cold winters.]

[Including her brother.]

[Unseen, she squeezes her eyes shut and shakes her head.]

So...! Um. What do you like to do indoors during snowy weather?

DAY 347 : Haunted Hotel Mingle

[info]marinanova_npc
[info]marinanova

[You have a lot of baggage for your stay. Not the kind you stuff free robes and toiletries into. No, the kind of baggage that helps drive the sort of scenarios you experience. Your fears and your hang ups. Or maybe not everything is about you after all and you have a perfectly random, horrific time. Either way, the adventure starts now. Ring the bell for service.]

Day 341: video [open to action]

[info]raisedontolkien
[info]marinanova
[the video feed cuts on to show a determined looking redhead standing on the beach. she doesn't hesitate once audio connects and it's clear, if only by the way she holds herself, that neither unfamiliar technology or being randomly abducted to some ridiculous "prison" intimidate her very much. when she speaks, she somehow manages to sound authoritative, friendly, and irritable all in one. what can she say? she has skills.]

So hi there. My name's Charlie Bradbury and, to totes state the obvious, I'm new. Any chance someone who hasn't drank the Kool-Aid want to help a girl out and offer up the 411 on what's being done to blow this crapshoot? That'd be super.

[the next bit is private to sam and dean winchester and protected via charlie's own (albeit quickly tossed together) encryption protocol; charlie's neutral expression immediately becomes a grin and she waves almost perkily at the feed.]

Miss me, bitches?

[ooc: if anyone wants to meet charlie face-to-face instead, she'll be near the beach area unless they icly discuss meeting elsewhere.]

[DAY 340] "DEAD BACK HOME" GROUP THERAPY MINGLE

[info]spacelike
[info]marinanova
[This group therapy session takes place in an appropriately-sized study room in the Education Center. There is one large oval table for everyone to sit at, and a smaller snack table off at the side.]

[The session is divided into two parts.]

PART ONE: Mourning Yourself
Discussion
— Did you harbor any regrets before your death? And if so, is there anything you can do for them with your newfound time?
— Do you know how you died? How did you learn? Did you arrive near-death, or did you hear about it from a friend? How do you feel about the particular details of it?
— Who or what killed you? Have you forgiven it or them? Why or why not?
— Is there anything you wish you could change? Why? Discuss.

Activities
— Write your own obituary or eulogy. Once you've read it out loud, you'll be invited to burn it with a bot-offered candle. (The bot will not hand over the candle.)
— Picture yourself attending your own funeral. When it's your turn to pay your respects to yourself, what would you say? What thoughts occur to you?
— Write a letter to at least one of your loved ones. What would you say about your death to them?

[After this, there is a break. Coffee and tea are provided, along with both savory and sweet snacks. You're still not allowed to leave, though.]

PART TWO: Moving Forward
Discussion
— What dreams and hobbies did you have before? Can you pursue them now?
— Discuss what your previous goals were. What are similar things you can do to achieve them here?
— What kinds of relationships have you made, or would kinds would you like to have?

Activities
— Write down your plans for your future. Partner up and discuss them in-depth to flesh them out better.
— Come up with a daily routine, emphasizing your interests. Refer to others to help you find relevant resources or activities.
— Draw yourself 5, 10, or 25 years from now. Share it with a partner or the group.

-
((OOC: You're also welcome to come up with any of your own activities/therapeutic discussion topics! Everything offered here is just a starting point.))

[info]marinanova
[Welcome to the Family Issues group therapy located in a room at the education center. There are tables, chairs, prompts and various supplies along with food and beverages and a bot to keep an eye on things. Enjoy!]

There are family member photos everywhere. Make sure to use them to prompt conversations.

There is a hand out that explains roleplaying each other's key relatives including:
— Tell the person how you feel and what you needed from them.
— Express frustration/anger with the foam bats provided.
— Hug it out.

Game
There's a poster with the following instructions.
Word associations: start with a word that makes you think of family and then go back and forth with a partner, occasionally stopping to discuss what the words represent.

Card prompts
There's a basket of cards to get conversations started.
— What do you think of when you think of family?
— Who are you closest to in your family and why do you think that is?
— Who are you most distant or confrontational with in your family and why do you think that is?
— Have you lost a family member? What happened?
— What is your earliest memory?
— What was your childhood like?
— What sort of stressors were there in the family? (Separation, divorce, moving, loss of job, births, deaths, abuse)

[Someone was angry. Someone was also being followed by a bot because he hadn't done his "punishment" for hacking the computer, yet. There had been... issues... happening... and frankly, he couldn't be bothered attempting to rhyme everything he said.

So now, he was doing his damnedest to get around without having to talk to people because he didn't want to have to rhyme.

This, of course, made him the perfect target for people to talk to him... especially because there was a rather conspicuous bot following him around.]

Day 336 | Voice & Action

[info]spacelike
[info]marinanova
[Calliope wakes up.]

[This alone is cause for celebration, in her book. She sits up fast, she smiles brightly. So much to do now that she knows she's alive and safe!]

[Calliope begins her errands: a nice, clean suit from a boutique. Breakfast (of bacon and sausages and nothing else, other than sugary tea). An apartment at the Streamline Complexes (along with a digression to marvel at an automatically-activating sink), and then, groceries.]

[She raids the candy and meat departments.]

[This happy little alien can be found running errands all morning, humming cheerfully or smiling impossibly peacefully as she goes. There are still visible fangs, but that's just her overbite.]

[She had hesitated to put out a network call, if only because she knew not everyone she met yesterday may be there. But, before noon rolls around, she knows what she needs to do.]

[Voice]

Good day! I'm still here!

Blimey, there's so much to be done to get settled. I've already gotten started with it, but I keep finding more to do! [She does not sound put-off by this.] But now that I know I'm not leaving, I definitely want to get to know everyone! I came to know nearly everyone in my village, after all. It seems strange to think I'm among strangers again.

Please tell me about yourselves! Name, home world, and, umm, one fun fact that you feel comfortable sharing!

Video with Action

[Good morning Marina! Have a bright eyed, bushy tailed redhead on your feed. Shallan is set up currently in the Daffodil Dive, it's obvious from the plate of leftover pie cake in her hand as she's talking to you.]

Good morning! I am opening this to everyone, old and new. I'm doing sketches of everyone for Chuck as a Regular's Wall at the bar. You can pick where you want me to sketch you, and who with if you like. I will be available all day.

Closed Voice to Artemis

...Can I say that I'm sorry? You're right, the wardens are horrible...
