Suzaku's wakes up far more gently than usual. It's his usual time, he knows, but something's not right. He's very comfortable, and very warm. Comfortable enough that for a long moment, he doesn't even open his eyes, just makes a small sound of pleasure.

Good morning. I'm given to understand that the welcome baskets my sister [ subtle emphasis; a preemptive defense of his inheritance of the project! ] spearheaded were previously disseminated via courier, but I'm afraid that's all I know about who else worked on them...

Is there anyone else I ought to speak with before I assume her duties? [ So gracious. ]

[ Housemates will find Lelouch at the kitchen table, with an empty woven basket and a notepad. He has the latest of half a dozen lists on it. Ideas about what a welcome basket should contain.

Naturally he also made breakfast, so help yourself. ]

[ There is Suzaku. There is Suzaku with his eyes as though carved from stone.

He opens his mouth to say that Euphie is no longer in the Dome, which means that she is gone back to her death and what comes out? ]

[ ... Two bright blotches appear on Suzaku's cheeks because WHAT IS THIS EVEN and how can any of it be said to be for good, and he cuts the transmission. ]

[ Hello, Marina. You might find Lelouch getting coffee this morning, hanging around the library during the day, both typical of him, or, later on, the pet cafe -- which is less so.

He would not say he's been... hiding for the last few days. That would be ridiculous. Especially since the people he would, in theory, be hiding from are also people he lives with. But he has been leaving his room in the mornings wearing a bland smile like armor, and then spending the rest of the day out of doors. Filtering his network activity away from them. That... sort of thing.

One thing to have one of your greatest failures known; another to have it painfully reenacted. ]

Library

[ You will probably find him pouring over a stack of books with a small notebook, jotting things down while he listens to the network with half an ear. The notes he's making look like utter gibberish, because they are in code. ]

Pet Cafe

[ Lelouch makes a slow circle of the cafe, looking at fish first, then birds, and so on. He is looking but not touching, just... taking in the menagerie, until one of the firelizards decides his perfectly-still form looks like a good perch, and settles on one of his shoulders. Cue flailing, which changes the pretty creature's mind real fast. Lelouch will then scramble quickly to his feet, dust himself off, and pretend that did not happen. ]

[ And it was going so well.

He shared an apartment with them for several days, a room with Euphie for some of that, and keeping that -- particular -- area of his chest hidden wasn't terribly difficult. He's always been on the modest side. Pajamas to bed, typical enough; avoiding the pool and the ocean, perfectly in keeping with his preferences to minimize any form of physical activity; shirt on through the heatwave... he was hardly the only one.

But Botani has been relentlessly, coercively relaxing. Everything here is so simple and easy. Doing what makes you most comfortable is so... simple and easy.

And he is soaked through from a mishap at the lagoon, which is not comfortable, so Lelouch's first impulse is to fix that, even though far from being in a locked room (or bathroom, or once Euphie's closet), he's currently outdoors where anyone could see him...

...he's going to pull his shirt up over his head, exposing a truly nasty-looking scar on his chest. ]


((ooc: if your character is the type to recognize these things, it's a pretty new scar, and he got it from being stabbed between his ribs and through his heart with near-surgical precision!))

[ "The rest of your natural life." C.C. wonders how long the technology in this prison was designed to last. The "lush and abundant setting" she wakes up to fills her with a profound sense of unhappiness -- an eternity in a single place isn't what she expected when she made her most recent choices. She's still laying on her back in the middle of what looks like a park, pushing buttons on her communicator to see what it does. Finally, she manages the settings for a video message.
