[No more rules. Big announcements. New arrival - it's all a little overwhelming when it comes at him along with a festering cough in his chest. His time was supposed to be up, finally, but yet again he's the dead man walking. Every mile, every inch he pushed himself - for what? For her. And where is she now? Better off. Better off than him, that's for fucking sure.

James will haunt the streets past dark; a crooked figure en route to the Daffodil Dive. He shows no outward familiarity with the place once he happens upon it, coughing into his sleeve as he enters. He heads straight for the bar with a limp in his gait, slow but steady strides getting him there. He'll sink down into a seat, as moody as he is greying.]

I'm usually not a fan of bottle episodes but I guess I can make an exception just this one time. You got the scenery right at least, so much better than, say, a basement. You got a Gilligan's Island thing going on here, except I don't have to choose if I want to jerk off to Ginger or the Professor. Lots of extras out there, I've noticed. Guess someone did the work for a big budget, huh? If you catch my drift.

So. I only have one question. Where do you keep the really big guns? I have an itch that only a semi-automatic can scratch.

Oh, and while I'm at it – any X-men out there or is this another instance of you not making the cut?

Hello, fellow prisoner types.

[It's Kitty but it's also not Kitty. Her hair is long and held back in a pony tail. She's still older than the other resident Kitty though. And her style is unique from both of them.]

I've been here a little while and haven't done the whole, hi, I'm here thing. So, let's get it out of the way. Hi, I'm Kat. Kat Pryde if you want it Bond-style. I already know the ropes of the place so don't worry about giving me all the details. But introductions are good. [She's also wondering if anyone has heard of her. I mean, she was on Jimmy Kimmel's show not long ago talking about one of her company's prototypes and giving a shout out for mutant rights. She's kind of used to being recognized. Not sure how that plays here though.]

Also, and this might be jumping several guns at once, but I'm thinking there should be an inventor's club thing if there isn't one already. I have tech skills we have some raw materials. Who's with me? I might also be interested in a teaching position. I know, I know, I look like a kid, and I am, but I'm also a CEO with some teaching guest lecturing credits under my belt. [The smile is just a little smug which is also covering up some of the "oh em gee" of being in this place. Her life has never exactly been normal, but it's never been this either. It's kind of exciting too though.]

[Inmates, are you enjoying the slow dribble of water coming from your faucets? What about the way the power goes out briefly just as you were about to save something? How about the crisp chill in the morning after temperatures dropped overnight? And maybe the most heinous of all, with no new deliveries coming in anyone who only likes fully yellow bananas with no brown spots is now out of luck! Okay, so it's not exactly the worst thing that could be happening, but it is day three and things are only getting worse even if it's only gradually.]

[She finally makes her way out of the apartment, taking a long route to the Defense Force headquarters if only to avoid passing too closely to other apartments and popular sites. Who would be in the cemetery, right? When she gets to her office she gathers some things up to work on, not interested in staying long.]

[The day has been going as you might imagine. It's dark and dangerous and while she feels a thrill when engaged in a fight she also has more than her fair share of concern when it comes to others. She feels protective of the inhabitants of this dome which is probably a good thing for the leader of the Defense Force to have, but it also runs deeper than that. It would be there even if her position changed. Always one of the X-men, but also someone who has just lost too much for too long.]

Report in. Anyone. Force or not. We're all in this today. [But she also hopes they heeded Suzaku's warnings and stayed in. Too many heroes getting themselves hurt today isn't going to help anyone. Same could be said of her of course.] I want to hear some voices. [If only to know you're okay.] What are you seeing? Anyone need help?

[She's wearing glow sticks around her neck and arms to provide a little light without being too cumbersome. There's a traditional flashlight hanging from her belt if she needs it. She's also dressed in uniform from her life as an X-Man—tight, blue, low cut, but it's durable and easy to move in.

She's not necessarily trying to engage with the beasts, but it doesn't stop her from running up against them on her own or to help someone out. Watch out for blood splatter if you run across her while her claws are out. She's not taking prisoners.]

Happy Day 365, Marina Nova!

Hear ye, hear ye! Inmates, prisoners, fellow underwater dwellers! Lend me your ears and hands and actually just bring all of you because we're having a ye olde Renaissance Faire to celebrate a full year in this bubble under the sea!

The dome has of course been decked out appropriately. Flickering torches light the pathways, interspersed with larger bonfires that you can cosy up to with that special someone - or perhaps just a glass of honey mead. Pennant banners hang across the gates and along the buildings, sporting the proud coat of arms of the prison (a lot of purple and octopi, for some reason) and many of the clothing stores offer time-appropriate options for those of you who still knows how to have fun. The kiosk has even been re-imagined into a castle.

Many areas within the dome has activities to partake in and, if you're skilled or lucky or both, prizes to win!

It's not the first time Jack's woken in a body that's not his own, and it probably won't be the last. It still throws him completely, mostly because when he rolls over into Ianto he can't figure out why there's hair flopping across his face. He's never worn his hair long enough for that – and it's never been brown and wavy before, either. He looks down at the arm he's flung across Ianto. It's a lot skinnier than it normally is. Actually, his whole body feels a lot thinner, and weaker, and just generally weird. He rolls back away from Ianto with a very uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach, and heads for the mirror.

"Well. At least I'm not Spike this time."

And oh god, his voice!

[ it's cold out, but quinn doesn't mind. seeing snow fall around the dome is refreshing, not to mention relatively harmless. she much prefers these kinds of events to whatever that haunted hotel nonsense was they were dragged through earlier in the week. ]

But, speaking of holidays-- In high school, my Glee Club director used to encourage us to think outside the box and mix two songs together to form something new. We called it a mash-up. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a sort of of mash-up holiday party or dance of some kind. It's impossible to tell when or if one is coming up, so why don't we just sort of cover all our bases at once: presents, chocolates, costumes...

When it's warmer, of course. I'd rather we not be stuck inside -- especially if we're hiding eggs.
