[ From long before the morning message -- since around midnight, actually -- until around noon, Dirk can be found working in the gardens in Sector Four. When it begins to rain, he scowls, but keeps his work up. He has a date to go on tonight; and he's fairly sure that if he skips out, that troll that is his pre-scratch self will further attempt to fuck things up with Jake. He can't allow that.

What a great day for rain.

Got a few things I wanted to mention before I'm too preoccupied. First: That wiki Crane was working on? Last night I added a page to answer a bunch of recurring newbie questions. Hopefully, it'll cut down on some of the repetitiveness of New Inmates Day.

Second: My friend Roxy and I have a project we're working on. You know, bettering ourselves for rehab and shit? Anyone who's good with computers is welcome to come help us out. Tony Stark, Penelope Garcia? You two might be interested. We're thinking of meeting in the computer lab tomorrow, around one PM. Who all's game?

Third: Just so everyone knows, I'm taking Jake English to the Sadie Hawkins dance tonight. This is not up for debate. [ He's just a smidgen defensive. Things have been getting under his skin lately. ]

Happy Anniversary, Marina Nova!

The bots have been busy cleaning up the dome and setting up decorations for this momentous occasion, and by now there isn't a nook or cranny left un-pimped! Bright blue MarinaNova flags wave happily in the artificial breeze together with the colorful ribbons that have been wrapped around poles. The streets are illuminated by strings of lights and paper lanterns and each sector gate has been lovingly decorated with fragrant flower garlands.

Of course, that is far from all! There wouldn't be much of a festival without entertainment and your loving wardens have made absolutely sure that there's something for everyone!

[Despite the icon Tony hasn't managed to get his full Iron Man gear together yet. But, newly free of his Bot Babysitter (too bad, Tony was just starting to get used to hanging things on it) he was finally able to make the adjustments to his flight gear and repulsion gauntlets. So he's doing what anyone cooped up in an underground prison would do.]

[And that would be flying around the dome at ridiculous speeds with AC/DC's Back in Black blasting on his headset. Not quite as ridiculous as he would prefer, mind, but there's not enough room in this stupid place to break any sound barriers.]

Someone who Laverne and Shirley like better than me should request some actual airspace in here. What's the point of manipulating time-space if you're not going to work the pocket dimension angle? [He does a sharp turn to avoid the dome, missing it by about a foot, then turns on the juice and zooms along its circumference.] Speaking of pissing them off, who votes I blast Floating Speaker Island to kingdom come?

I've been convicted of a murder that I didn't commit. And I literally mean an actual murder I didn't commit -- it's not something back home that I'm just too chickenshit to fess up to.

And the thing is, Veridical stuck this D/s collar on me, so at first I thought it was just making up some excuse to avoid admitting it was jealous that I'm already in a relationship. But then it turned out I'm not the only one being punished.

So who all out there has to deal with this bullshit today?

[The last few days have been...something. Enough of a something that Bucky decided getting a drink in the early afternoon was a perfectly good idea and the Winery was as good a place to do it as any. He usually lays low, chats up a few ladies now and then, and spends time with Steve--but that won't be happening anymore, will it? He almost wants to ask what the point of being here is now, but he won't because knowing how things work, he just might get the answer he doesn't want.

He snorts at his own stupid thoughts, taking another stiff drinking from his glass and letting it clink-clack as he sets it carelessly back down on the table in front of him. He's sitting loose, clothes a bit rumpled and his hair a little in disarray. Messy, but not like he just rolled out of bed. Even maybe if he had.]

Time goes by fast around here, don't it? [He says it easily, but there's a bit of slur to his words, an edge behind all of the nonchalance.] You just keep going along, minding your business and in the blink of an eye it's like...you didn't even notice how things were different. That's probably what they want. Get us all cozied up and then drop the bombs.

[He snorts, taking a drink.] Think I prefer being shot at by Nazis.

[It's been less than a day since she accidentally discovered a bottle of dilaudid in Reid's sock drawer. How many times in those hours had she wondered if he was back there now taking the drug? How many times had she considered going back to see if it was where she last saw it?

Too many.

It isn't a feeling she likes. Kitty trusts Reid and loves him, but addiction isn't something she has a lot of experience with outside of her cigarettes, and that seems more like habit to her. More than once already today she's started to open a feed to the network before closing it again. She's not sure what she should say or how quickly it will get back to Reid if she says anything. He was in an addiction group just yesterday making it even more likely someone will recognize her hypothetical plea for what it really is.

But the fourth time she begins she doesn't stop. She needs some guidance with this one.]

I'm looking for someone with training or experience in handling addiction.

[There's an annoucement for another group, this one meeting in one of the rooms at the education center. This group is specially made for those with issues with the families. When you arrive to the room the chairs will be moved to form a circle. It's to promote a feeling of unity, okay?

[ The setting may be familiar to some, either from personal experience or depictions in media. A ring of chairs set up in the middle of the floor of one of the Education Center classrooms, a thermos of bad coffee and a carton of stale donuts left out on a table nearby and a basket of brochures — addiction literature, geared towards the many different faces this monster can take.

There's also a basic schedule written on the whiteboard:

• Round robin - take turns sharing something about yourselves.

Apparently the punishments around here aren't all finger paintings and entertaining all-access reality TV. I'm being commanded by Forrester and Erhardt to pay penance for their idiotic system being without proper failsafes for a cascading power surge.

So this is the part where I offer several million dollars of tech support to the dome at large because that's the best use they can figure for an engineering prodigy. If you have any projects that need doing -- [ugh could this be more fucking stupid]. Just try not to entirely waste my time.

This is the subterranean version of being shanked, for the record. And if anyone asks me to fix a toaster I'm rigging it to launch your Pop-Tart directly at your face at Mach 3.

[The hour isn't too late just yet, the costume party's still in full swing and less mask-oriented inmates might still be out and about, doing whatever. Lovely night, isn't it? Too bad it's about to take a serious left turn.]

[Regardless of where you are in the dome, all of a sudden there's a minor power surge as the lights strain with over-brightness for just long enough to draw looks of concern, and then the entire dome is plunged into complete darkness. Anyone paying a whole lot of widespread attention might note that the first lights blink out in Sector 2, then the effect cascades through the remaining sectors.]

[Not long after the dome goes dark, there's a loud clap of thunder and then a torrent of unrelenting rain starts falling. The only light you'll get tonight is half-second streaks of lightning arcing down from the dome.]

[No lights, no power, a nasty storm, no kiosk to complain at. Have fun.]

[oh, good morning, Marina, here is Pepper, dressed very nicely for being in an underwater dome with limited designers OR Louboutins available. She's bright eyed, and smiling.]

Good morning. My name is Pepper Potts. I have a proposition for everyone. A book club, since we are stuck here, yet with access to various reading materials.

I have a few ideas for reading selections, but this is for seeing if there is any interest and to organize the first meeting.

[The Blood Shack has been redecorated for the evening. The lighting is red and the decor is very Moulin Rouge. The bar has had a facelift of sorts and in the spirit of a costume party is featuring 'candy' flavored shots such as Skittles, Sweet tarts, Caramel Apples, Nerds and Tootsie Rolls. All other 'normal' drinks are available at the bar as well as a selection of synthetic blood. The decor continues in the seating arrangements. The entire room, including the dance floor, stage and platform where Eric's throne sits is bathed in red light. Lording over the entire affair is Eric, dressed as a Viking king. Instead of the helm, he's got a crown made of gold foil and cardboard. His weapons are the plastic sort and he's opted to go bare chested rather than attempting to make any sort of chain mail. He has a faux polar bear throw across his shoulders and is wearing a long, blond wig as well as a fake beard.
