Now it's raining more than ever - an event post!
Hello Marina. Remember those occasional showers we've been experiencing throughout this dayweek? Well, they're not stopping. At all. If anything the rain will keep on pouring well into morning of Day 327. The ground will be soft and muddy, puddles puddling all over the prison, trees and awnings dripping with the downpour... and still it won't stop.

Hope you can swim, Marinanites.

Wait, what's happening?

We're having ourselves a flooding of the rapidly increasing kind. Unlike previous floodings this one won't just result in some water damage and the occasional cold — no, this one isn't stopping. Bring out the canoes, unhook the doors from the walls, get your snorkel ready. The water will continue to steadily rise throughout the dayweek of 327, stopping just short of the Dome's ceiling come midnight. Yes, this includes the floating island. Don't get stuck there.

What if my character can't swim?

Find a floating device or, if you want to be morbid, remember that death is no longer permanent and bring on the horrifying experiences.

Opt out?

Since this is a dome-wide event, it's a tricky one to opt out of but if you're unwilling or unable to participate in the event, you can always assume that your character got through it without trouble. There's plenty of things that can be used as a raft. Maybe they found a canoe in the sports section of Bullseye?

How does this end?

Happily. By daypost on the morning of 238, all the water will be gone, everyone will wake up back in their own beds safe, sound and dry. No water damage, although you may detect more humidity in the air than normal. Perhaps the grassy areas are still a little soggy. There's no real harm done, though. Unless you drowned. That would leave some scars as well as a punishment.

Spike, being the undead, unbreathing jerk he is, will remain mostly chill this event. If needed he can keep some people from drowning but most of the time he'll sulk on a raft somewhere, whining that his cigarettes are too soggy to smoke. Totally open for plotting.

Reid is available, tho I have no plans for him. He'll be fine, hating his life, what else is new.

Aidan is a decent swimmer and will be out in full-on rescue mode, probably focused on pet café animals first and foremost (except the bots will chase him off bc they got this ) but also available for more humanoid rescues should need be. Also, someone make sure he gets on a floatation device before he tires himself out entirely? Thank.

Chuck... was already kind of dragged out of the ocean as a corpse once and I'm so goddamn tempted to do it again. Someone tell me no. Very no. Much no.

	Kitty will contact Reid specifically to make sure she gets him to safety if he's not already there. If she realizes Spike doesn't need to breathe she'll probably try to recruit him to working on gathering underwater supplies. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	If Yuuri passes out I vote for a Kanji rescue because I want him to regain consciousness and be faced with his stupid swimsuit because that sounds fun. Also Kanji is trying to set him up with Nico now be alert for incoming stupid shenanagins at some point. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Nico can't swim. He can shadowtravel to safe places until he tires out or runs out of places to go. After that. :/ Carol will want to try and help, as best she can? But no big plans. Varrick is every man for himself. Until it isn't. He might be inspired to MacGyver a yacht from the debris. Or maybe just a really cool raft. (Reply to this) (Thread)
