[He's had five days to get acclimated. More than the time any new situation back home would warrant, but in some ways Hotch still hasn't wrapped his mind around some of what's been taken as truth here.

He still has questions. More than he thinks could ever be answered in a lifetime, but he'd rather not ask for information he could discern on his own.

So he spends his time in quiet observation. He reads the network, familiarizes himself with the policies of the prison. The Athletic Complex gets a great deal of his attention - it's always been easy for him to work out frustrations with physical activity. It's not working to the extent he generally enjoys, but it's something.

When he's not there, he can be found in the pet café (a soft spot for dogs) or the library.

[This was the first morning Kitty woke up next to her boyfriend in their home instead of his or hers. Perfect day to go run errands and kiss lots and lots of people, right?

Don't worry. She doesn't bite. She might scratch though. She does come with claws after all.]

[The nigh-unhackable system in MarinaNova is by far the most frustrating thing Garcia has ever encountered. It's been bugging her for weeks, but the shame of having so little to give Hotch when he arrived was the last and final straw. Since last night she's been at the keyboard nonstop, frantic to get somewhere with this impossible system. Anywhere. Her team is depending on her and that matters more than sleep. And so, here she is at the coffee shop.]

[She had only intended to grab a few triple-shot lattes to go, but she had her laptop in tow because habits die hard, and then inspiration struck...]

[Hours later she's still there, several empty coffee cups lined up on the table where Garcia is typing with grim determination. She's murmuring to herself -- or rather, at the uncooperative code she's trying to slip past, accusations of unfair play and then something about "bagbiting" -- her fingers moving faster by the moment until she's attacking the keys like they've personally wronged her.]

[Seconds later, she slams both hands down on the table, still addressing the laptop.] You are far and away the most stubborn thing I have ever seen! Don't be so smug, I'm not done with you yet.

[There was a bit of a mail delay with PM's disappearance, but everyone on the team should have gotten a letter this morning. By noon the roof of the new Defense Force headquarters is ready for guests. It isn't exactly decked out, but there is a long table with finger-foods: small sandwiches, fruits, and hors d'oevres as well as sweets like cupcakes and truffles. An arrangement of sodas and bottled waters sits on one end next to an enclosed punch dispenser. Sorry, no spiking the punch, kids. There are also small standing tables around the edges. The only real seating comes in the form of benches along the sides. The point is to get to know the rest of the team, not to sit and eat, so this suits Kitty just fine. They can thank Lacus for the fact that there is food at all and that things have been arranged in such a way to promote circulation.

She waits until it seems like most everyone has drifted in and calls for their attention while perching herself up on the wall itself. No fear of heights here.]

[Once she's done, she hops down. The mixing can continue for as long as people want provided they still handle their sectors.]

[No doubt it's been a long day for some, newbies or standard inmates. Maybe you're lost, worried, feeling kind of alone and like ya need a stiff drink. Maybe you lost someone a few days ago, maybe you were hoping to find someone or head home yourself, but it didn't happen. Or maybe you're just hungry.

In any case, Merlotte's is open for business and the owner, Sam, is almost always there. There's even a pool table! Come on in and relax, forget about your worries and troubles for a while.]

[ It's a good thing this class is only an hour long, with how antsy Reid is today. With Hotch showing up you'd think that he'd have better things to do but their fearless leader will need some time to adjust and Morgan seemed to be on that, so the class will be on like scheduled. It's a good enough distraction, even if it's all too obvious that his mind is on other things when he isn't talking about victimology.

Good thing there's a roleplay session planned. He probably won't be able to keep his concentration for the full hour anyway. ]
