PEARL AHOY! (a plotting post)
So, you know the Pearl event which was the even that wouldn't end. It just goes on and on, my friend? Well, I'd like to CRUSH it. And by crush it I just mean expose it. People could still be unable/unwilling to get rid of their pearls because my precious.

Before this happens I wanted to toss up a post for the sake of plotting and warning. THIS IS THAT POST!

• Please let me know if you had some thing you wanted to accomplish before some jerk is spilling the pearl beans on the network. (And your timetable so movement can happen.)

• Tell me if you're like, "omg! I was about to do just that!" I'm going to be 10,000% okay with you doing it instead or it being a joint post if our characters would do that. For the record I could pretty safely do this with Sam or Kitty.

• Remember when I said I could do it with Sam? (Not that the post.) It has been awhile since he had something spark this topic and none of it was super clear cut and a run in with someone with a pearl where it could be visible and they're acting noticeably strange could help kick this off if there is a taker. I'd rather do it with him than Kitty since she just had a post.

• Any other related thoughts! Let me have them. Probably related to this topic, but I also like cats, so whatever.

I'd like to get this done soon. Probably this week, but I'm cool with waiting if people have stuff they want it to wait for aaaand go!

EDIT: I am hiatusing this weekend as I'll be without internet/preoccupied Friday - Monday, so instead of posting only to ignore the tags for several days, I'll post when I return next dayweek!

	That might be good. Did you ever get any handwaving on someone she could sense? Maybe she meets up with Sam (played out or not) to discuss what she sensed and they decide to take to the network? I mean, I'm still waiting to hear back from others, but a thought. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She did meet Mal that one time and Jack, but she only saw Mal's pearl. I want to say she knows about a black one and she's talked to Anya, but Anya seemed normal so >> Aside from that, I don't think she's seen any other pearls. Piper's got a happy pearl, so, considering her recent memory influx and the door event, her nice neat little recovery back to 'normal' might seem suspect. I'm replying to both of you here because I feel like both Sam and Deanna might notice this with her. Piper's not the type to brush things off easily, so a happy pearl would definitely make it seem like she recovered from recent events a little too easily.

	Deanna would be able to sense the difference in her emotions. Does she have the pearl in their current thread? I can't remember if it's been stated. If so, I can have Deanna start to pick up on it there. It would definitely give her something else to focus on. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Would you like to maybe handwave that Deanna and Sam spoke about this with Piper as sort of a final push toward "this is a real thing that is happening and people should know?" Or not handwave if that would be better for you. Just trying to figure out if there is anything else I need to do before the announcement. So far it's looking like I'm pretty good to go. As for other characters with pearls, I never got around to writing a pearl into Duo's and Tieria's daily activities, and that's fine. I was iffy on what I wanted to do with them anyway.

The only other one was Kitty, and both Kitty and Sam might have noticed through things that she seemed a little overly enthusiastic and self-assured and well... prideful... thanks to a different necklace she's been wearing than her usual one, namely a purple pearl. Up to you how you'd want to handle that if you want her in.

Piper's situation might be a bit more of a trigger than Kitty's, though, since a lot of her 'pride' is being channeled through the cheerleading squad.

As far as noticing things, if someone were to push the right buttons, Tieria could probably pick up on it because he's observant and might notice a new accessory that someone doesn't normally wear, but he'd have to be pointed towards it. He's not great at picking up on weird behaviors on his own unless they're overly obvious.

totally meant to have Jack do a network thing on this, months back, but then there was my show and then there was Christmas and all these other events I wanted to play in kept turning up and so I never found the time!

I do seem to remember mentioning, though, that people (especially Sam and Deanna???) were very welcome to have spotted Jack with his pearls in his hand or, later, when he got them made into cufflinks, so anyone is still very welcome to remember that.

If asked, he will probably be very remorseful for having forgotten and not done anything about it all, and very willing to help!

	I know Deanna is aware that Jack's heightened anger was the same strength and intensity as Mal's. I've been having her assume that he may have had a pearl as well. Maybe they could talk about that sometime? If his is gone, she would notice the sudden difference. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Absolutely. I'm happy to thread them talking, though you need to be aware that I am ridiculously oversubscribed on threads at the moment so if you need a quick resolution (which I think is what Haunt is aiming for) it might make more sense to handwave it? It's fine! And if it were anyone else, I'd be fine with a kiss under the mistletoe but Deanna misses her husband too much. With everything going on and considering her canonpoint, that would be too much for her to handle. A cheek kiss would be fine but somehow I think Jack might not go for that XD So just a straight, normal talk would be best. We could just say she went to see him earlier this dayweek.

It hasn't been that long in game time and his brother and Bobby just came back and Bobby left and kissing bots and multiple "Elena's" and anyway, what I'm saying is, yes, I will use that as fodder and thanks.

And I'm good with you doing the post instead if you want, but it sounds like you're still backed up.

Yeah, I can't think of anything recent with Jack that would spark anything, though I'm happy to handwave them talking if you want, or you can just go with Deanna talking to him (also handwaved) as above. :-)

And god no, I don't want to do the post! *g* It was only ever really going to be a 'my character would do this so I ought to' thing anyway rather than 'I want to' thing. And god, I am so backed up, it's unbelievable. SErve me right for having Jack snog so many people last week. *g*
