I hope all of your freshmen are ready for your first Woodsbridge classes! I know we've a few more days of orientation, but given that come Wednesday everything will be a whirlwind- someone remind me why I'm teaching three on the first day of classes? I make poor choices with scheduling- I thought I'd write my typical Professor 'let's all get down to business' post now, instead.

I just went outside, and for a minute I thought I had been powerswapped after all and that now I could fly. But it was just the wind.

I think it's an inside sort of morning, everyone. Be careful!

I have never been so glad not to be included in something in my life.

And while this is going on, if anybody sees a spot where a little bit of, hmm, conflict resolution might come in handy, feel free to give me a buzz.

Being that the semester starts in two weeks, this is my one and only reminder to you all to please register early if you need English credits this quarter. Young Adult Lit is already capped to non-declared English majors/minors/grad students (this can be adjusted by contacting me before the first day of classes, as that cap is at my discretion alone.) As always, Shakespeare and Creative Writing are both already nearly full as well, and neither of them will be offered a second time this academic year, so please do not send me a weeping email at 2:40 in the morning on the first day of classes begging me to make space for you. I'll probably still do it but

Please also be advised that I am being forced against my will required to teach ENG 101 this quarter and my class size is smaller than the usual 101 survey. The cap on that class cannot and will not be moved by any force in this or any universe, so get those spots early or suffer the consequences.

Couple of letters for you came to the house this last week. Not sure if they're important. I'll have them sent to your office if you'd like them.

Goodness, I feel as if I just fell asleep one night in early June and it's August already. And now comes the last minute scramble to firm up syllabi and reading lists and all of that wonderful madness.

Also, so much wine.
