[About a week after this, the Las Vegas Sun runs a spread in their gossip column about the mysterious woman seen picking up city councillor Dallas Shay's daughter from school. There are several paparazzi shots of her carrying the little girl to her vehicle and driving off, accompanied with a single photograph of Dallas, his daughter and the mystery woman coming out a restaurant together. The article claims that the widower has not been seen with another woman since his wife passed away, and there is much speculation as to the identity of his new girlfriend.]

I got a letter from my ex-fiance today. She actually asked if I would meet her in New York for some charity event. I'm not sure what she is thinking but politely declining seemed the best option. After all these months, she still has the gall to assume that we are fine. Did she not read the papers, or receive word from home? This month just keeps getting better and better.
