Hey pretty boy.

[This is going to be as quick as she can make it so she can get back through the door. She's actually standing in the hall outside the DC door, and she doesn't feel well. Not plaguey (can Death even catch enough of the plague to transfer to her? She doesn't know), but tired. Exhausted, really. And shaky. Her handwriting reflects that, slow and careful but still a little wavery.]

Captain's Log, Stardate 2259.16. Lieutenant Commander Spock has rejoined the crew of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). All other senior officers remain missing and unaccounted for. Attempts made by myself and Spock to locate the missing crew have proved [pause] unsuccessful.

[He takes a bite of his apple, chews, and then continues to speak.]

Until such a time as we are successful, I'm taking Spock to the surface so he can see what Starfleet didn't show him on their approved tour. [Amusement.] It's his home now too and someone's gotta show it to him. [Another pause where he almost says that he's looking forward to showing the pointy eared bastard around, but doesn't.]

Johnny Masterson's buboes have faded, something that is met with some amount of relief until the preliminary blood culture results are back. Negative. His condition is cautiously optimistic until the evening, when he lapses further into respiratory distress and begins to have seizures.

Margaret Masterson is admitted to PICU as well with similar symptoms to her brother. Within a few hours after her admission, she begins coughing blood and asphyxiates on it. She codes, but is successfully revived. Mary Masterson is admitted to the medical floor at the urging of her son's nurses. By nighttime, she will be in the ICU.

The elder John is still in Berlin, but has holed himself up in his hotel room.

Several patients on floors that the Masterson's have visited are showing initial and second stage symptoms. By the end of the day, several immune compromised patients will have died.

As the day progresses, more people arrive with buboes. The CDC and the WHO are both called and will arrive by late afternoon. At midday, the hospital holds a press conference to discuss the possibility of an outbreak of bubonic plague. (News sources report on this most of the day and include the history of bubonic plague and likely transmission source: rats. There is a huge upswing in the number of cats adopted from local shelters and rescues following this news.)

Employees of Bruce Wayne's lab continue to work on the suit.

Morning news reports arrive from London, Berlin, and several other major cities of a particularly virulent flu as people flood to ERs and clinics. By tonight and under the urging of the WHO, quarantine procedures of those cities begin.

The virus has passed into the Marvel door.

[Fairly early in the morning, though she's about lost track of the time of day. It feels like she hasn't slept for nearly a week, as she watches the progression of reports from across the globe and the medical notes from Gotham General. The exhaustion is audible in her voice, but she doesn't sound sick.]

[A tired sigh first that she doesn't actually mean for him to hear.] The Mastersons are all sick. The youngest actually died, but was revived for now. People at the hospital are worsening and dying. Some major cites are being quarantined. It's not bubonic plague, but no one knows what it is. Are you sick?
