Evacuating the building is the best way to wake up on a Saturday morning.

[Saturday morning, as the sun begins to rise, reports of another fire interrupt morning television viewing in Las Vegas. The fire begins in a laundry room on the third floor of the Willows apartments, and regardless of the timing it is definitely a copycat crime. There is no particular apartment targeted, and the use of accelerant is reckless overkill. It's an uncontrolled fire, and it burns most of Saturday morning and into the afternoon. Damage to the building is spotty, with some apartments ruined and others entirely untouched.

The police are still investigating, but early news reports are already referencing a serial arsonist in the city.]

[As the 'monster' attacks Times Square, local government is attempting to evacuate as many people as they can. The army has been called in, but their weapons seem to be doing nothing to the creature but making it angrier. Of course, they don't know that there isn't really anything there to shoot at.

The creature can be seen as far away as the outer boroughs, towering above the skyline. Casualties thus far are unknown, with the numbers fluctuating wildly, since no one knows how many people the creature has 'devoured'. In fact, since it isn't actually hurting a fly on its own, the deaths are all being caused either by the army or panic-induced violence on the ground.]

[The plan was flawlessly executed. The charges had gone off exactly twenty minutes passed midnight and the financial district was rocked by a series of explosions. Though the target had been one stand alone building the force of the blast and the heat created by incendiary devices destroyed any windows in the immediate vicinity. Dark smoke billowed from the hole blown into the side of the steel tower. For any one watching, it was clear that this was a message. A large bat dominated the side of the building and the symbol flickered and warped with the dancing flames. Debris rained down from the sky and amidst flaming wreckage were the calling card. For anyone new to Gotham who questioned the motive, they simply need flip the card over for their answer. The Clown Price was back in town.]
