I could not find Legolas.

It was this time in our world that Gandalf sent me on an errand. I nearly forgot, but as he is not here, he could not do so again. I did not have time there to search all the places that I wished, but there is time yet to do so and I will make use of it.

It will take me far from the Shire, but as my key continues to open at Bree, I can return. If there is any sign of the enemy, no matter how small, you must tell me.

Every morning for the past week, I've had a cardinal and a blue jay joining me for my morning coffee at the fire pit. They watch me, I watch them, they hang around for a few minutes and then fly off. I think even Spot likes them.
