When the sun rises, all guests at the party feel the compulsion to return to where they began. They leave the hotel, return to their doors, and shuck off the secrets they became for the evening. Every memory remains of the night, and physical aches linger, though injuries fade with the sunrise and the dead live once more.
In each attendant's journal, one sentence sheds light on the events of the evening:]
[Police have been called to a Las Vegas motel in the early morning hours when hotel owners discovered a dead female in her mid-twenties in a hotel room. Police are treating the death as a homicide, and the public is urged to contact the LVPD with any information. The news release also comes with a grainy video capture image of the girl in question. The face is difficult to make out, but the blond hair is unmistakable.]
Monday night, a woman is found on a bench near the Bellagio fountains. She is unresponsive, and a medical team is called for her. She carries no identification, and is nearly dead by the time the paramedics arrive. She's taken to a local hospital, where she is revived and admitted. A story hits the news, asking if anyone has information, but it is overshadowed by a local murder, pushed off to only a sidenote on broadcasts.
