That time has come, family of mine. MSF is sending me (us) to Syr Lebanon for a couple months. We're headed out this coming weekend.

I know we aren't technically Americans, but I like celebrating the holidays of the world/country we're in, so. Kil Dad gave me permission to throw a 4th of July celebration on his ship tomorrow night! I'm making a ton of food, snacks and desserts (and champagne??), and I'm going to decorate with blankets and pillows everywhere. We're going to sail out onto the water so we can watch the fireworks from the perfect spot.

So. Family, extended family, friends, Liam's boyfriend, anyone who wants to see the fireworks from an awesome place in Hawaii?

I seem to have acquired a new first mate. Hopped on board and doesn't seem keen on leaving - in fact, I'd say he thinks he owns the ship.

I got a job. I mean, I have a job, but an art job. A guy saw my fantasy piece that I put up last week and contacted me about commissioning for a series of book covers and concept art for a fantasy series. Sixty pieces. They already sent me my starter check.

This is big. Biggest commission I've ever done. Holy crap.



I need to stock up on hibernation snacks.

In other news, I qualified for the Pyeongchang Olympics. NBD.

I'm wet, cranky that I'm not buoyant enough to float and I've spent the last three weeks studying for finals that now I won't have to take. I won't be doing junior year over and there's no way finals are the same in 2015 as they are in 2037. You guys haven't even had a female President.

Can someone come pick me up from the police station? I'm technically a minor, so I have to have some kind of guardian and considering I'm related to half the people here, they're covering their bases. Mostly I just think the officers and detectives are all scared of mom.

Bloody hell. Hatter, he's mobile and learned to roll. Time to batten down the hatches and find the rum, I haven't prepared myself enough for this. He looks so bloody pleased that he's trying it again.


I'd say something inspirational about fatherhood changing someone, but I think this might be easier than babysitting a crew of drunken pirates after a good haul. More rewarding.

Because somehow my counterpart seems to think I'd be better at school shopping than him, I'm going to be in Honolulu this weekend for a day or two. If anyone wants to join Holly and I or take pity on me and lead the charge, please do. Regina, I'm looking at you.

EDIT: Friends and family - August and I are getting married in Honolulu on Saturday at noon. Wear whatever you want and no presents, but make sure you're there.
