Everybody's talking about "let's go on vacation before school starts back up!" and I'm just like "I just want to curl up in a warm bed for the next two weeks with junk food, Netflix and Dave Matthews Band", is that too much to ask, really?

I still have to pick a specialty, preferably before clinical placement this year. Emergency, surgical or pediatrics? My lead thinks I'd be best in peds but I still don't think people should trust me with babies.

Too much adulting. I want to stop adulting now, someone pick for me. :(

Okay, I've been working non-stop since I got here to get back to the position I was in with my work. And changing my own diapers has been a gross and tiring experience. So I need to get out and party. Who wants to teleport a girl out to New York?

Thanks to the help from 5-0, I'll be starting NYU Nursing in the spring semester, rather than having to wait until fall. And, you know, worrying all summer that I'd even be accepted.

But that means I'll be in NYC for Christmas, since I have a list of things to do a mile long and I'm avoiding, so plan accordingly.

Thing One: I've got a placement test at NYU Poly next week for the spring semester. I'm going to get lost at a friend's house upstate this weekend and part of next week to study for it, as it's not enough that I do well; I also plan on eviscerating the competition. You cannot find me. You cannot trace me. I'm dust in the wind. Text if there's a problem I'd actually care about. Otherwise, buzz off. (Assorted Hales, there's a casserole in the freezer.)

Thing Two: My birthday's on the 27th, which falls on a Monday this year, which I think we can all agree is terrible. I'm going to celebrate it on the 24th here, and you're welcome to join me. Yes, that is a Halloween-themed club playing exclusively 80s and 90s music complete with an entire Nirvana floor. Yes, it's perfect. Costumes are optional; I'm broke so I'm going with the tried and true slutty cat. No gifts, unless they're expensive, and if you insist I will always accept donations to the Alcohol for Petra Hale Charity. The more donations I receive, the more likely it is that I will show you my flawless Thriller.
