I thought at first I was just confused because I spend so much time around Alex -- Alex was all I was smelling, instead of the whiskey and cigarette smell my dad usually has.

It's not Alex, though. It smells almost like him, but not.

Everybody's talking about "let's go on vacation before school starts back up!" and I'm just like "I just want to curl up in a warm bed for the next two weeks with junk food, Netflix and Dave Matthews Band", is that too much to ask, really?

I still have to pick a specialty, preferably before clinical placement this year. Emergency, surgical or pediatrics? My lead thinks I'd be best in peds but I still don't think people should trust me with babies.

Too much adulting. I want to stop adulting now, someone pick for me. :(

Finals until the 30th, then I'm done with summer semester until August 10th. Seems stupid to take a vacation when we live in Hawaii, and yet...

Is it too early to demand 4th of July shenanigans? I want a cookout and fireworks and Springsteen music and vaguely-homoerotic beach volleyball. And ice cream and one of those coconuts with a straw in it and daydrinking and writing rude things on people's backs with suntan lotion. Not too much to ask, right? I'll even throw in potato salad and as many D. Hales performing manual setup labor as I can round up. I can't comment on the quality of the D. Hales, but my potato salad is a religious experience.

C'mooon let's pretend we all get along. I need a fun day to look forward to.

Normally today would be the day I would go to see the Ranger Memorial with my dad. Anyone else have any traditions I can barnacle onto?

Hey gang! It's been about a year since we defeated the Nogitsune, and a ton's happened within that year, both good and bad. But it's been mostly good here, right? We've all made new friends that we wouldn't have had the opportunity to get to know otherwise, gotten jobs, and generally had decent lives now that Beacon Hills is in the rear view.

So I'm throwing a huge party this weekend; you're all invited. Bring anything; I've got a ton of junk food so if you want veggies, bring veggies. It's going to be at my old weapons storage (address) and not the apartment (see Lyle? I do respect you). There aren't any weapons or traps or things in the warehouse; I wound up moving them to a bigger unit. Come unarmed please, or Isla and I are going to frisk you, and we may do it anyway.

I also just saw 'Up' and am feeling hella sappy, so. Argent out!

[ Edited to Add ]: Oh, almost forgot - if there's someone from another fandom or whatever you want to come, it's fine! Just make sure they're not going to narc or whatever; there will be shenanigans.

So to get my mind off of the psychotic vampire currently trolling the world, I decided that I might as well read one of the books that my tutor assigned me. It's called "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and so far, there are no stones. It's about a boy whose parents were killed by an evil wizard and he goes to a castle and learns about magic and one of his teachers is a monster dick to him. I'm not done yet but I'm enjoying it. Sorry to everyone who lived it and was miserable, but your lives are way more interesting than "Tess of the D'urbervilles", and also I'm not really sorry.

In the book, people get Sorted (with a capital S) into a House (also capital) that lets us know about their personalities. It's very interesting. So I decided to look up to see where people Sorted me, and I found this link that Sorts a lot of the people on the Teen Wolf show, and it's SO WRONG. I can't be a Slytherin! I'm not the bad guy! That's so untrue and terrible and makes me want to strangle whoever wrote that and display their head on the balcony outside as a warning to others. Just because I'm resourceful and I'm going to outlive you all doesn't mean I'm a Slytherin!!
