So hayyyy, who wants to volunteer 6-8 hours of their time for charity? October 25-26th, I'll be hosting a Children's Halloween Carnival. I got permission to use Gramercy Park & Hotel for indoor and outdoor activities, and am currently getting donations and backers for rides, activities, booths, etc.

What I need from you guys - anyone who's willing - is volunteers to work one or both days, man booths, work the carnival, picture & autograph booths, face painting, judge costume contests, bob for apples, maybe sit in a dunk tank, get hit with a pie or two? All proceeds are going to Children's Health Fund charity. So, yknow, kids.

Sooo, if you want to help (please!) contact me ASAP with when you're available. All day, a few hours, etc. I'm asking if you sign up, you at least do it in a 4-hour block so that I don't have to shuffle people around too much. Currently working on getting lunches donated for all of the volunteers.

(Thor, I'll be abusing your arms to help set things up. Be prepared.)

According to a Hawaiian landlord, my female counterpart has decided that the home I helped sign on for is a great place to keep assorted meats, and that the furniture it came with would be better purposed if it were destroyed and remade into something different.

Clearly, public appearances are paying off, as my client list has grown substantially in the last week, both on the jewelry and smithing fronts. (One attempted to commission me to make a replica of an Elvish crown, of all things.) Keeping my windows open to relieve some of the heat in the room has also afforded me a rather grouchy looking stray cat who tends to lay in my sill and glare at me while I work.

Much as it pains my pride to say it, I may need an apprentice. At the very least, someone to keep the cat from staging an attack.

I don't usually attend these sorts of things, but I've been invited to an event in New York that, I'm told, could serve as good networking. Considering that I'm still in the process of getting my work back into common knowledge now that I've been transported back in time, I supposed it would be a good chance to further that. Anyone have a pressing desire to dress me? Or, equally importantly, attend at my side? I'm sure that my tastes in fashion, evolved to fit the modern world as they are, are hardly appropriate for something so classy, and I am definitely in need of someone charming to attend alongside me given my tendency to come off a bit gruff.

How do I have an almost-one-year-old? Seriously, anytime someone tells you the horror stories of having a toddler and how much havoc they can wreak and you just laugh them off (been that person all my life) alksfaljglj omfg they're all so accurate now.

HEY that said, Children's Museum of Arts, next weekend. 2-5pm. There's a ball pond and you're supposed to "dress for a mess" because the birthday project is a giant collaborative mural with like finger and hand and feet and body painting. :D

I hadn't realized until recently that dropping back in time meant that there was still a film left. It seems I've acquired an enthusiastic stalker.

Apparently there's this insane law in England where you have 42 days to name a baby. News to me. So I have nothing to call him by, but this Bundle Of Adorable is born two weeks ago and no one has posted bragging images yet. Cook and Panda, proud parents.
