Hey, so I was in Honolulu yesterday night for a job interview (why do they always ask you if you want to ask them any questions at the end of the interview?? I freaked and asked him if he preferred crunchy or smooth peanut butter. I suck. Anyway - ) and took a walk downtown and got some coffee. When I was leaving the coffee shop, I heard something on a roof above me and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a totally gross snake/lizard/Geico Gecko/dragon thing? I scaled the fire escape, but it hissed at me and took off and I lost it.

It was about six or seven feet of scaly foulness. Vaguely human shaped? I know there's a bunch of different were-things here, but I didn't get the impression that this thing was at all safe to be around people. Something about its eyes I could be wrong; I have a bad history with snake people. Like, way bad.

This mean anything to you guys?

I was chasing a perp and I had him cornered, but he pulled a gun on me and I didn't think I wasn't thinking and all of a sudden he was knocked back against a wall and he's in the ICU. I think I did magic and now I'm suspended pending an investigation and I don't know what to do.

Since we've had a few new arrivals over the year, there's a traditional 5-0 versus Blackpoint football game on Thanksgiving morning in Hawaii if that's your kind of thing. Casual observers are also welcome. I've heard it's hilarious from that side.

So who had 2014 in the "Danny's Jeep finally dies a painful death" betting pool? Because it just did that in UH's parking lot in a hail of rust and engine parts. The engine literally fell out.

Last night, I finally learned what Cards Against Humanity is. That is one game where you learn how terrible the people you know are, yourself included. Gracie is definitely my child.

I'll be working Mischief Night and Halloween this year, so a few warnings to everyone:

1. Check your kid's candy haul. If it looks tampered with, assume that it has been and throw it out.
2. If you see any suspicious behavior any where, report it.
3. If you are responsible for any drunk and disorderly calls I get, I will make your life hell.
