Poor little me just got put on lab duty for the next few weeks, so I'm afraid my stint with the public at the Botanical Gardens is on indefinite hold. I'm just no good at discussing climate change with skeptics! I get so terribly flustered when they deny scientific fact, and then inevitably they begin to counter my perfectly legitimate concern with 2014's answer to manifest destiny and the next thing I know, the potted plant our admin keeps on her desk has sprouted fangs and vines and is attempting to have an early dinner.

Oopsie. Does anyone know how long this state lasts? I'm so flustered, and terribly vulnerable...

There are some perks to being married to a wizard, and one of those is watching your neighbor's face when she sees the Halloween decorations you've put up. It's not my fault she didn't tell me she was petrified of spiders, but it's wearing polka dotted leggings for heaven's sake. It's scary chic, not deadly.

That being said, Emma, darling, are we planning a Halloween bash this year, or are you still in the honeymoon phase?

So the University of Massachusetts, Boston has an assistant coach position available for their women's ice hockey team. I've sent an application in, so fingers crossed.

I'm going down to the Mai Tai Bar to celebrate finally doing this. Anyone joining me?

She came right around lunch time, so she's clearly got some of her dad's prioritizing. And her mama is the most amazing woman on the planet.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit today. I'd actually warned the nurses ahead of time, but I'm sorry if they got a little grumpy with any of you. I'm not so sure they were used to having so many people visit.
