I've been unable to contact Agent Barone and unable to locate her on Governors Island. I hesitate to use the phrase "missing person", so for now let's say she's unaccounted for. The last couple of weeks have been a fun adventure in figuring out where to eat that isn't our restaurant. Thanks to everyone who has supported ROOSTER so far (even if by "supporting" I just mean listening to me rant about those baseline assholes after 5 or 6 drinks). On the bright side - the glass is always half full, every cloud has a silver lining, blah blah blah, my Bumble inbox is BLOWIN UP now that I've been the victim of a hate crime!

Anyway. Here's the cocktail I've been drinking to drown my sorrows:
THE REBUILDING
2oz bourbon
.75oz lemon juice
.75oz cinnamon and chile infused simple syrup
red wine float (try a Beaujolais)

Combine the first three ingredients, shake with ice and strain into a double old fashioned glass over ice. Top with the red wine float. Enjoy. Rinse and repeat until you can't remember why you started drinking in the first place.

Thank you for participating in our family Thanksgiving celebration. It warms my heart that we can all come together and share our traditions and good food.

A couple days ago we were contacted by a member of Project: Ascension leadership, Nero Decorso, with a proposal on how to move forward in an alliance. This has not been seen or approved by his superiors. He has given it to us first to decide if we are going to do this, so that we may provide a united front when this is presented to the Secretary.

His proposal as as follows:

I think it's important to note that the mission of the Movement for Atavist Liberation has not and will not change. We are here to make sure that atavists are allowed to live freely. Decorso is proposing that our Movement and their Project both sit at the larger table and help plot a course for atavists moving into the future.

We will not make this decision unilaterally. It's big and if they go with Decorso's idea, it would mean turning ourselves in to receive pardons. We are open to any suggestions and questions you may have.

Onto another, equally-important topic... Leo Barone is still missing. We don't have any reason to believe he was abducted. Him being caught by the Way would not be good for us given everything he knows about us.

There is no knowing where he is or what he is planning to do. We need to change this. I'm going to need a few agents to work with me in investigating his whereabouts.

Thanksgiving is a shitty holiday, but it is a good opportunity to give back. This weekend, some of the brothers and sisters went to homeless shelters downtown to help serve food to the less fortunate and down on their luck. We passed out blankets, and a lot of the volunteers donated their time and services to people who needed help. It feels good to remind people that atavists can spread Light, not just destroy Midtown.

This week, the Center is going to be open for Healings, both spiritual and physical. Just walk in the door, no strings attached, and you can be helped by one of our experts to fix whatever's hurting you — ease the psychological pain your family inflicted on you this holiday, get rid of those winter blues, or fix the aches and pains from any injury. Maybe even get a free consultation on how to become your better self. I'll be there, doing my part to help.

Sure, you might be thinking, you can always go to the clinic, but maybe that's just because you haven't really come to terms with the real pain you're feeling. Lost, alone, unsure of where you belong right now in a community slowly being torn in half by Project: Ascension and MAL. Feeling exposed by the news. Afraid of the future.

Full pardons for all involvement in the MAL and any unlawful acts up to this point, in exchange for turning over The Mother, Leo, and three of our own to be used as scapegoats.

I have told him we will not turn over any of our ranks. And I hope you stand by that sentiment. There's no doubt in my mind that if we turned over anyone, they would never see the light of day again.

As painful as it might be to imagine turning down a normal life, where we are free to go home, I— I wouldn't purchase that life with the lives of any of you.

Thanksgiving is a week awayand I'd like to get the menu finalized. For sides we're leaving it open so feel free to add whatever traditional dishes your family makes to share with the rest. This is potluck so everyone is contributing. If you can't cook or don't bring anything you will be put to work, either the night of or going shopping for those of us that are trying to keep a low profile.

I'm going to be doing some Puerto Rican dishes so look forward to that, those of you who weren't with us last year.

If you haven't seen yet, ROOSTER is officially closed for repairs for the next couple of weeks. Some racist assholes came by, vandalized the dining room, and set it on fire.
