they're all stable. were stable upon entry to medbay. no visible injury but exhibiting outward signs of a comatose state; RHR registering as approx 60 bpm. pupils responding to penlight. no sign of stroke. not enough heart monitors - can't hook up all 6. have been rotating, no one showing signs of hypotension but will remain monitored

I'm going to start holding my first aid sessions again starting tomorrow, if any of you can make it! I'm thinking Prospect Park this time, so if any of you in the Brooklyn area have dogs, you can bring them and I'll bring Portia. I might swing by my parent's house for Bear because she needs the exercise...

At dinner yesterday, my mother was talking about the hospital getting rid of some equipment that they're not sure if they're going to trash or send overseas for donation. I'm going to see what I can do about encouraging her to suggest the former so that if possible, we could swoop in and take them before they end up in a compactor???? She mentioned a defibrillator and a ventilator specifically when I tried to wrestle some details out of her.

Tyler and I would like the go ahead to talk about official recruitment with his brother, Mark. His powers are of size manipulation, as we've mentioned. We're planning to meet him at Prospect Park Friday afternoon, which I thought was a good place because it's busy without being hard to find privacy.

Update as of this morning: Noelle, Addie and Jakob were stable as of the early hours of sunday night. Jakob hasn't regained consciousness but again, he's stable. Jane, Andy, Giselle, I'm sorry we couldn't see you ASAP but I can come to you if you need it

To all the atavists who are new to New York, some tips about 4th of July here:

• Be wary of how many people there'll be -- there will be a lot of tourists!! Be prepared to have to wait in long lines for a long time, and bring your own drinks and snacks if you don't want to be caught in a line for three hours at Starbucks.
  
• The fireworks on the river start sometime after 9pm, but if you want a good spot for visibility, you'll want to get there a couple hours earlier and steal a spot, if the fireworks are your main attraction! Anyone living in Stuytown will have a good spot by the East River to watch. There are also fireworks and events (like the hotdog eating contest) on Coney Island!!
  
• It might rain tomorrow, but I honestly don't recommend bringing an umbrella because it shouldn't last past the morning. Hard to tell from year to year, though...
  
• There are a lot of historic tours and events happening this weekend and into tomorrow, but since a lot of tourists might be visiting... if any business owners in the community want to share their business specials or hours or deals if you have any, feel free to advertise here!!

For those of you with parents who weren't born here, do you celebrate Father's Day even if your father's home country isn't the USA and the day is different abroad? I guess the same question could be asked for Mother's Day, but that's already passed here.

Thank you to everyone who has come to the last two sessions!! It was really great to see and hear your interest, so again, if there's anything you'd like me to teach you, let me know. This week, I'll be introducing proper suturing methods and what you can use for stitching when you're in a pinch.

Hi everyone!! So I have a proposal that is non-committal and not mandatory and completely open to anyone who would like to attend: if there were first-aid sessions held once a week at HQ [OOC: EDITED OUT], would anyone be interested in attending? It wouldn't be structured like a class so you could come and go, and anyone can step up and teach everyone something!

Sessions would cover and include but not be limited to: CPR, the Heimlich, staunching bleeding wounds, emergency stitches, how to cauterize a wound, what you can use on the fly if you don't have the medical equipment, the importance of sterile equipment and clean hands (!!!), how to tell if there's internal bleeding, how to prevent a wound from getting infected and what to do if it is, how to set dislocated bones, how to tell if you or someone has a concussion, when NOT to move someone, the recovery position, what to do if someone is in shock or has an anaphylactic reaction, how to protect someone having a seizure.

I realize it's... a lot... but knowing even ONE of these things if you don't already could help save a life, whether it's yours or a strangers or one of us. If you have any questions, you're welcome to ask! I thought Wednesdays or Thursdays would be best for this, but please let me know what works!!

I've been thinking lately about the idea of sessions teaching everyone first aid with an emphasis on emergency aid and resuscitation skills. I think it would be beneficial for everyone to have a grasp of, if not more, especially if Martin and Mia aren't available to transport and someone has to administer life-saving first aid while they're out in the field. I've [....] just been thinking about the hospital and the docks and how we might be able to help both ourselves and civilians if [....] and when injuries do happen.

What do you think???? I think the Project offers a class like this, but... the idea of us going to their classes scares me.

Have you ever wondered [....] why our powers don't work on ourselves? Do you think it might actually be possible, but we haven't tapped into it yet? Is it because we don't have powers of self-regeneration, and are they mutually exclusive?

I struck up the longest, nicest conversation that I've had in a long!!! time with a grandmother at the soup kitchen on Sunday, and I think she might've given me her whole life story, including all six of her grandchildrens' stories (yes, all six). For obvious reasons, I could only give her my own life story up until being atavized, and then she added me on Instagram. (I actually think she knows how to use it better than I do..........)

She also encouraged me to share my cat pictures more often, so: This is my Ophelia.
