Places You'll Go will be closed tomorrow (July 14th) until Sunday (July 16th) as my wife and I are going upstate for a few days to attend the Finger Lakes Wine Festival. Perhaps even take in some recreational boating. Or antiquing. Truth be told, I really haven't thought much beyond the All-You-Can-Drink wine tents. Perhaps even take in some recreational boating. But! The Wednesday after I return will be the trial run of a Cards Against Humanity league. For the time being, I'm going to keep it an atavist-only event, but that doesn't mean you can use your powers to cheat. Winning is based purely on your sick and perverted imaginations. Pizza and soda will be provided, though feel free to bring other beverages as long as you don't get too inebriated.

In honor of tomorrow being the longest day of the year, Places You'll Go will be having a twenty-five percent off sale for all books that contain references to the sun, light, day, or summer in the title. For those new and/or interested, the store holds regular book club meetings on Thursdays. First Thursday is dedicated to science fiction/fantasy/dystopian/horror, second is non-fiction, third is fiction not covered by the first Thursday, and the fourth Thursday is a free-for-all. It's free and I provide cupcakes. There are also regular Magic: The Gathering games every Sunday night. We usually order pizza those nights. And I was thinking of starting up a Cards Against Humanity league? Maybe?

In conclusion, have a list of funny town names and be thankful we don't have to live out our days in a place called Meat Camp.
