At exactly nine o'clock, Godricwent into his bedroom, retrieved his partner with barely a word, and brought him out to the car. Tonight was determination, yes, but it was also about trying not to force himself to be determined about things. Tonight was about trying to just "be" without having to try as much as he did. Which was why there was a playlist synched up in the Prius when they got in, and Godric took Blake's hand then turned on the radio, then kissed him before driving off to Boston. With songs playing that Godric knew he liked, he could focus on that and not on whether or not the drive was strained or awkward. They could make small talk and he might not think and overthink if Blake was silently breaking his words down bit by bit. Ever since Blake had locked him that room, and the days of withdrawal, Godric worried that the quiet moments Blake had were imply filled with worries and judgement. But not tonight.

And, since he was wearing comfortable clothing (including his favorite shirt), Godric was not going to be uptight and uncomfortable as they pulled up to the dance club where they had shared their first true intimate experience, ironically in the very public parking lot. He wasn't even going to wonder if the owners would recognize the car and the two of them from a year and a half ago. He was just going to go inside, with Blake, and drink and probably stand around (and possibly be forced to dance) and just enjoy being together, without overthinking it.

But first he would worry just a little if this was something Blake wanted to do. "This alright?" he asked softly, looking over at the other man.
