Haunted Hotel Event Info
It's day 347 (Oct 26-Nov 1) and you've woken up in a haunted hotel. If you're lucky there's a mint on your pillow. If you're not maybe there's blood. You're not in for a pleasant stay, and you probably won't write the nicest review.

But why?
Maybe the wardens are cleaning the apartments again and needed you out of the way. Maybe this is a new kind of prison. There's no message on your communicator or pamphlet to let you know.

What am I seeing?
When you look out the window you might see the dome as you know it. Or maybe the windows are all boarded up when you try. Pry the boards off and you'll find bricks. Maybe you look out and it's just dark and stormy. The hotel could be right out of the Shining or maybe it's more Supernatural kitsch. It could be high end or dilapidated or anything in between and not all rooms need to look alike. In addition to bedrooms you may find ballrooms, conference rooms, a restaurant, dining hall, lobby, bathrooms, laundry room, ice machine alcove, etc. Really, just anything you could picture in some kind of hotel. You won't be penalized for having an imagination.

That's just the setting. Other things are happening too. Spooky twins? Bats? Someone at the door with an axe? Bleeding walls? Creepy shadows? An unexpected chill in the air? Flickering lights? Maybe just an unnerving thumping sound that gets louder? Maybe you're being chased by a Scooby Doo-style baddie that's not all that scary if you aren't a dog that likes to get high. Cartoonish ghosts? A monster under your bed? You know the tropes. And you can make up your own.

What's happening?
This is about horror. It's not supposed to be pleasant, and you won't all have the same experience. Maybe you find classic horror? Goofy? Surreal? Maybe all of the above or some other breed. Who knows. Different people, different rooms, different troubles. Not to mention mixing and matching as you run into fellow inmates.

Opt out?
Everyone is in the hotel, but some rooms are calmer than others. Maybe you watch some porn and get a good night's sleep and never hear the screaming. One thing's for sure. You can't get out.

But...you'll get out, right?
Like most nightmares, it will be over when you wake up on Day 348, back in your regularly scheduled bed.

What if I died? What if I killed someone or something?
If you die then you acquaint yourself with the death FAQ and hit up the IC Rules for punishment and taking on some kind of consequence. If you kill another character then you need read up on murder which also comes with a punishment. If you killed something you or another player made up for the event like a murderous llama with a chainsaw then no harm, no foul. But you can always contact a mod if you're unsure.
