Sleep shifting wasn't something new, nor was sleepwalking. Maggie did both from time to time when she was dreaming about being one of the various animal forms she'd mastered. But this was the first time it had happened since being turned into a vampire. With visions of hunting in a forest playing out in her head, Maggie's body morphed into that of a black panther. The transformation caused her pajamas to rip from her body. Her ears and whiskers twitched. Her paws flexed and batted at invisible prey. And then suddenly, without warning, she leapt up and off the bed. She was still sleeping. Still dreaming of prey. And, as an expert predator, she was extremely stealthy as she moved out of her bedroom.

Awhile back, Charlie had changed the door handles to make it so Maggie could actually open them while transformed. The plan seemed really fucking stupid right now, given that Maggie was able to slip out with ease and through the hallway. Cracked doors and windows were her friend as she made her way outside, driven by the need to find real prey. Eventually, she woke up, but it was gradual, and instincts had kicked in, so she didn't think to go back. Maggie was hungry.

Candi kept fidgeting as the man tried to take her measurements for the wet suit, she wasn’t interested in this part, just in the sunshine that was trying to break through outside. Despite Charlie’s warning, Candi went off with Xander as planned to Boston, she was not going to be able to resist being on a boat and going diving..sunbathing nude! All things she hadn’t done…well the sunbathing nude she had done just not in a long long time. She glanced over her shoulder at Xander as he waited patiently and then happily stepped away from the sales clerk; she was ready to get going.

Frankie still hadn't told anyone other than Kim or Grey about the baby. She'd begged Grey to keep it to himself for the time being, and Kim was under strict orders to not tell Starbuck. Frankie had to get used to it all herself. She needed to feel good about it before her family made her feel like shit.

The fact that Grey was happy and ready to be a dad made things a lot better. She knew most people in her life wouldn't accept him, but she thought he'd be a good father. He was good to her, and he'd love the baby. He had money, so he could support their child as well. It was going to work out. Some how.

But she still had moments of panic. Tonight was one of those moments. She started to feel overcome by anxiety in her room, so she quickly threw on her workout clothes and headed out for a run. She wanted to escape all the shit in her head for a bit.

Frankie had a lot on her mind. Unresolved things with Lucas, her chat with the new shrink, the argument with Lyle, and then talking to Lyle again and having that conversation turn to the subject of her birth mother. It was all so much to deal with. She wished she could escape from her thoughts for a little while. Instead, she was being suffocated by them.

Walking had seemed like a good idea, mostly because she thought the cold would be so horrible that it would distract her from the shit in her head. But it was awful out. Clearly, she'd not worn enough layers.. even though she had on five. Stupid winter. Frankie glared at the flurries flying around. What the hell was she doing out here?

Running as fast as she could, June had determination burning in her heart. She didn't know quite where to find who she was looking for, but her nose would see to that. She had found Malcoda across a huge country of human stench, she could find a demon. It took some time, and night was beginning to fall as she finally was sure of where to find him, but at last she had. He had a home like Mal's, smaller but in the same human style. Panting slightly, her paws wet and chilled from the snow, June stood on Xander's front step and shifted form, because she thought that he might be more pleased seeing her in her human skin. Demons on the surface preferred humans, it seemed, and she wanted him to want her to serve. He was the only demon she could think of that had never tried to treat her like an equal, who didn't try to make her into something she wasn't.

The air was freezing, and June was naked. She shivered, but she knocked on the door regardless, determined to be strong. To be worthy. As she waiting for his answer, the hound got down on her knees, bowing on his doorstep. She wanted to give herself to him, so he could use her as he saw fit. She needed a master.

What was once a place of learning had quickly been transformed into an almost unrecognizable playground. The staff, as they had done at the back to school mixer, had gone to great lengths to create a Halloween Party that would make any but the most stubborn of people leave their problems back home. From the commons room, to the facilities, to the very grounds themselves, everything was being utilized to provide the most extravagant celebration many of the new students would ever have seen.

The commons room was being utilized as a cinema for the evening, playing a mixture of classic, and modern horror movies, from Frankenstein and the Wolf man, to the recently released remake of Halloween. There was also a list so students could make requests if there wasn’t enough interest in any of the movies being shown.

As per the last celebration, their were many areas for students to enjoy a wide variety of music, with a techno style dance club in the dance studio, complete with lack light and disco balls and a personal DJ. The pool was filled with floating candles and flowers, with soft music produced by a string quartet wafting through the room, and the music room was home to a small dance floor which was driven by a man playing graceful classic tunes on the piano.

In the lounge of the rec hall, there were various games for any willing participants, including bobbing for apples, and a game where you could supposedly tell the first initial of the person you were destined to marry by how the skin fell when peeling an apple. There were also fortune tellers and palm readers, real of course. After all, in a school that catered to such gifts, it was easy to stir up a few willing participants. There was also a wide variety of Fall themed treats, not only candy but also traditional pumpkin stuffs, and other like dishes.

However, the main attraction was a haunted house trail that ran the length of the grounds, and which had a few special surprises put in place by the staff. Though, of course, the goal wasn’t to completely terrify the students, it certainly would not be your normal haunted house trail, and there was a posted sign warning those less brave of students to not risk the terrors that awaited within.

Addie was looking forward to this evening.  An incubus seemed like interesting entertainment.  She had gotten together an outfit as promised, but it was no kitty outfit.  She didn't do costumes, per say.  She had on a zip-up shirt that she had zipped only to about her bellybutton and a short pleated skirt, schoolgirl style, in black and white with plenty of zippers.  And her favorite pair of bitch boots.  Underneath all of which was some nice leather and lace lingerie.  Normally she didn't wear this kind of outfit.  She was more comfortable in a pair of Tripp pants and an obnoxious t-shirt.  But it was fun to dress out of character now and then.

At the knock on the door, she shouted, "It's open."  She was standing at the makeshift bar she'd erected on the vacant side of the room.  "What's your poison?" she asked as soon as he entered.

Erin had actually totally outdone herself. The amount of detail put into the burlesque entertainment provoked question. The club was naturally divided into different rooms, and she had rented out a few of them. It was not a popular joint, nor was it an exceptionally large place. With the money she had spent, though, she had not only decorated the several rooms beautifully, but she had catered the entire thing. It had been a lot, but it was worth it. Things had come together nicely.

The main room, which housed the bar, the food, and a few full sized tables for six had dancers strewn about cavorting under the multicolored lights. There was no defined color scheme for the dancers: each had their own outfit, and each wore it very well. Although the music varied from classic burlesque striptease music to more modern dance, fun songs, the dancers were clearly ready for anything and had acts prepared. There was a large stage in the main room, and a smaller, currently empty stage to the right, where a DJ generally was stationed.

In the two smaller rooms were fewer dancers, but the intensity had varied. Though none of the dancers were ever anything close to disgusting (Erin had, again, chosen to represent "old school burlesque"), the smaller rooms had heavier movements, duo acts, and, while no more body parts were shared, more were touched, licked, and slathered in liquor.

Angelina had never taken the time to try out the pool at the school. She realized that had been a mistake. On these cold days the warm water was wonderful. Earlier that morning she had asked when the pool had quiet hours, when no students were really around, and found out early afternoons were the best. Wonderful. Angel had no classes and no papers to grade. For the time being her job seemed easy--though it troubled her that two of her sponsors seemed very unresponsive to her. A part of her wondered if she should have tried to reach out to them more, or just let them be. It was probably good to let them be, just making sure they knew she was there for them if they needed her.

Somehow...this school didn't take well to angels. She just did not understand why. She was nice and friendly, never did she try to push her views on any of the students. Her class was completely unbiased and she taught about all kinds of angels, not just the commonly depicted ones. Angelina thought she was a good person, someone that everyone could get along with. Clearly not.

Deciding to wash the troubles away, Angel slipped down to the pool at three. She wore a pair of dark straight-leg jeans and a purple blouse over her pink swimsuit. When she arrived she removed of her outer clothing in the woman's locker room, taking a fluffy white towel with her out to the poolside. That was left on a bench before she tested the water with her foot, then jumped right in with a splash. Graceful as always, the angel surfaced and began to swim around in silence enjoying the peace.

Meike found Friday afternoons to be absolutely dull in the library.  At least when she was helping students, she felt useful.  Most Friday's she spent doing personal research on the various interpersonal relationships within the school.  In other words, she hacked into the journals and just skimmed through them.  It was better than a soap opera.

The only time Friday's were remotely interesting was when finals were coming up.  The blond was particularly wrapped up in what she was reading, and didn't notice someone enter her office.  Maybe her afternoon would turn out interesting after all.

After the weekend had gone by, Xander was almost looking forward to school again. The album he had been working on was nearly finished. He had some ideas for the remaining songs, and the rest of his band had given him raw works that he could easily work into the main picture. Even his agent had been useful, which wasn’t always something that he could say. Agents were agents, after all, and didn’t always have the band’s best interests in their mind, since they had to run a business.

His dorm room would be just like all of the others with, perhaps, one minor exception. Against one wall would have a pair of guitars resting against it. One was electric and a deep shade of blue. The other was more classical, wood and brown in color. The demon’s desk next to them would have a piece of hardware for a computer that most wouldn’t have seen, since very few people really had need of a musical I/O device. Both that, and the laptop resting in front of it, would definitely look high tech and quite professional.

Xander wouldn’t even pay attention to who else might be in the room when he arrived. His gym bag was tossed to the side, he would have to get the contents washed in the morning. His hair was even still wet from the pool he had just come from. Without so much as a glance around the room, he had no real reason to expect anyone else to be there, after all, he walked over toward his own bed and threw himself onto it with an exhausted sigh, though he had a grin on his lips as he did so.
