Whoever this Bucky was who claimed to know him really should have known better. Even without all of this nonsense happening around them, demanding he avoid a girl was like waving a menu and telling him to come and eat. Anyone who knew him would know that. But, regardless, none of that really mattered to Xander. When you got handed a lemon, you turned it to lemon-aid in his world, and that’s what he was doing. She surfed, and apparently wasn’t human, and that had him intrigued. He had never enjoyed pretending to be human, and it was always nice to meet others interested in what he was interested in that he didn’t need to pretend with.
So, he waited at the edge of school for this Lu to show up. Over his shoulder was his guitar. Well, it wasn’t really his guitar, even if it played and even felt like his, even that didn’t make sense to his mind. But, magic, if this really was magic and not some strange acid trip, wasn’t something he argued the logics of. Xander always felt naked without a surfboard or guitar with him, and without a beach, he settled on the guitar. Old habits and security blankets and all that, though he would never admit to that.
His intentions? Walk and explore, they were within New England, so the woods couldn’t be too dangerous. Not that he would go far, last thing he wanted to do was get lost without remembering exactly where he was. Since his own drivers license said he was far older than he knew he was, he didn’t need that kind of trouble these days.
