Ann Arbor was like a different city at dawn, Scarlet Oak a different town. Erika enjoyed her early morning walks. Although she'd lived in Scarlet Oak her entire life, Erika still enjoyed roaming random streets before the rest of the world clogged it up. It wasn't that Erika didn't enjoy the company of people; there was just a certain peacefulness that the world possessed when it wasn't clogged up with other sounds. Since childhood, Erika had always lived in a part-home, part-business. She was used to having other people constantly in her space. When she was old enough to be trusted to traipse about outside on her own (which she was fairly certain her parents still didn't think she was old enough), she started taking walks in the early mornings around town, just exploring on foot what she'd probably biked or driven past millions of times. It was different on foot. Slower, she supposed, more time to just take it all in.

It had been five days, and the general opinion was that five days past the first date meant Bella wasn't going to hear from Odin again. To say this made the redhead sad was a bit of an understatement. She had felt that the date had gone very well, and she would have really liked to see him again. But she couldn't say she was surprised. For whatever reason, Bella didn't get a lot of second dates, and she never understood why. It was a matter of great insecurity for her. Over the past few days she'd constantly rerun the evening in her head, trying to figure out where it had derailed for him.

Luckily, work was providing great distractions for her. It was strange - when Bella had been in high school, homecoming had been such a bittersweet event for her. She enjoyed going to the functions with her friends and she always participated, but the bullying from Rufus and his friends usually resulted in leaving the dance in tears and swearing she'd never go to another one. Now that she was out of high school, homecoming was kind of a blast. She enjoyed dressing up the shop windows in displays of school spirit, and she almost always got involved with the parade through the shop. Floats always needed flowers. Even though there would be no parade this year, the shop was still busy. Today, she was making corsages. It was simple busy work, but work Bella enjoyed immensely. She was an extreme perfectionist, and all other thoughts but her work were driven from her mind as she bent over her workspace. She was just wrapping up another when she heard the bell above the door ring. "I'll be right with you," she breathed in a quiet, sing-song voice, as she nudged her braid over her shoulder. The arrangement had to be perfect, and she was almost done.

EVENTS: Spirit week comes to a close today. It’s school colors day! Students and teachers are encouraged to wear red and black, and you can count on seeing owls everywhere. Today is the final day of voting for homecoming court.

In local news, local mother and business-owner Jadyn Cole has been reported missing, though circumstances surrounding her disappearance are somewhat unclear. She was reported missing by the father of her two-year-old son last week, and it is believed that police are keeping many details quiet to aid in the recovery. It is widely believed that Cole is not the sort of woman to abandon her child, but police can’t be 100% positive as to whether or not she’s the sort of woman to leave of her own free-will. Search parties are being organized, and those with any information are encouraged to call the police.
