Apr. 22nd, 2015

DATE: Monday, October 19, 2009

WEATHER: Still overcast; with an occasional light drizzle of rain throughout the day. Temperatures reach a high of 53 degrees Fahrenheit and there's a brisk wind to remind everyone what time of year it is. Brrrr.

EVENTS: Not much seems to be happening in Scarlet Oak today; though anyone who has been watching the news constantly will notice that the sketch of a young woman has been removed and no mention is being made of the murder of Pastor Lemuel. The church is still roped off with police tape and inaccessible.

I am waiting at the counter for the man to pour the coffee

Who: Raphael and Cameron
Where: Some fancy coffee place
When: Mid-morning

It was by complete chance that out of all the coffee places in all of Scarlet Oak, Raphael had walked into the very one where a celebrity of sorts sat drinking his coffee. And what an interesting celebrity it was. Cameron Calvert, face and heart of the anti-supernatural movement. Pretty, so very pretty, to boot. And Raphael, after the strange week they had all had, was up for some real fun.

After getting his coffee, Raphael eyed the man, licking his lips. Only then did he approach, smile well in place. "Excuse me, Mr. Calvert?" He said, placing his coffee on the table. With this one, Raphael thought it might be best to stroke his ego before attempting to stroke anything else. If, indeed, that sphere of fun could be had. If not, there were always others. "I just wanted to say what a fan of yours I am. I think you are doing great work."

you said i'll never let you go

Who: Jesse and Zoie
Where: Street near the police station
When: Late afternoon

Zoie had not wanted to go to the police office. )

Oh darlin', what have I done?

WHO: Julian and Jo
WHEN: Mid-day
WHERE: The Summers House

During the space of time where everyone's memories had been wiped, Julian had been taken to a time before any of the ugliness between him and his family had ever happened. He'd been the good son he'd always been; he'd even hugged his mother. Getting his memories back had been hard. For three days, he'd avoided any and all eye contact with his mother. He didn't hate her; but he couldn't help the words that came out of his mouth when they were talking. Well, when she was talking. Julian mostly yelled nowadays. The blank slate had given them the chance to see what life could be like if Julian wasn't so messed up...it had been beautiful. But they couldn't get back to that. Julian didn't know how. Julian didn't know if he could. There was too much hurt and no matter how much he tried to rationalize it wasn't her fault, all of his anger was directed at her.

But life needed to go on. )

Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling

Who: Maxine and Teddy
Where: The streets of Scarlet Oak
When: Night time

It appeared as though after that little awkward moment at the coffee shop (and the intentional flirting that occurred afterwards) Maxine and Teddy had actually gotten closer. At least it appeared so to the siren herself, given she couldn't remember a time when they had taken a ride at night without the rest of the team. Yes, they had been trying to break into the police station network following the faerie pictures debacle, the vampire murder and whatever had happened before then that had made them forget everything. But still. Closer.

Everything happened so much, so fast in Scarlet Oak. Murders, curses, spells, disappearances - it almost made Maxine's head spin. As long as she had lived, she had never seen such a thing. Omega seemed strapped for a place to start from, and so they worked separately, two and two (or three, in one case) trying to get everything under control. Maxine had gone along with Teddy for support, company and in case they found a window open that she could fly through - you never knew what buttons even an expert hacker might need pressed (the double-entendre in this very thought was not lost on her).

They had parked their van an inconspicuous distance away from the station and gone to work, Maxine riding shotgun as lookout and Teddy working his magic. Or, his psychicity.

Maxine looked behind her seat after another once-over around the van and on the mirrors. "You look frustrated dear, what is it?"

take a break, take control, take advice from someone you know.

Who: Trent and Farren.
Where: Trent’s apartment.
When: Just after midday.

When he’d sent the text the previous night it had been with the intention of reconnecting with his sister, the oldest of the Summers daughters. It had been too long since he’d spent time with Farren and truth be told Trent missed her, everything about her: her wit, her bite, her keen intelligence and sharp sense of humour, the way she told things how they were and didn’t feel the need to wrap people in cotton wool to spare their feelings. For all that she had a good heart, she was a Summers after all, she was honest and considerate and she had compassion as the rest of them did. It was just that she didn’t feel the need to conform to the world around her in order to fit in, she knew exactly who she was and she wasn’t afraid to embrace that, to hell with what anyone else thought. The world could use more people like her, in Trent’s opinion, that sort of brutal honesty could help solve a lot of problems.

With enough food on the go to satisfy a werewolf’s appetite Trent made the last rounds of the apartment to make sure things were tidy, not because he worried that Farren would think less of him for any mess but just because the smallest offhanded comment to their mother would have Camilla knocking on his door to clean things up quicker than either of them could say oops. Trent didn’t want his mother worrying about him, especially now that he had moved out and into his own place, between his job and his somewhat complicated relationship she already worried about him enough. There was no need to make it worse.

Tossing the last of his laundry in the basket to be dealt with later Trent heard the knock on the door and lightly jogged through the modest apartment to answer it, pulling it open and offering his sister a smile as he saw her standing on the other side. “Right on time,” he said, “the food’s just about ready. Come on in.” Not that he needed to tell her she could come in, she already knew that, but he stepped aside and waved her in anyway.

DATE: Sunday, October 18, 2009

BIRTHDAYS: Jenny Bryant

WEATHER: Today is overcast with the temperatures remaining reaching the mid-50s.

EVENTS: Once again, today is another quiet day in the township. No mishaps or trouble going on outside of what is stirred by the citizens themselves. The only event of note are the fliers posted around town inviting anyone who sees them to take an online poll. The fliers themselves are vague, citing that: “If you have a passionate opinion, make sure your voice is heard!” Those who visit the website will be met with a series of questions. While it supports anonymity, the questions begin with supernatural race and ability description. It goes on to ask about opinions regarding recent events and whether or not the survey participate would be interested in an online forum where they could communicate with others like them with similar opinions. No one knows for sure where these fliers came from and investigations behind the source of the website will prove fruitless. It’s curious, but given everything that’s been happening, not exactly newsworthy.
