In need of some fun

Who: Fiona and Syri
When:Late Morning
Where: Coffee Shop

Syri had texted Fiona and suggested they meet to catch up that morning. She'd been in town a couple weeks and hadn't had much in the way of work so she decided that now was probably the best time to get back with old friends- because who knew what next week would bring. Dressed simply in a pair of blue jeans with heeled black boots and a black fitted t with a red leather jacket, she'd ordered a house blend- black, and taken a seat, waiting for her friend.

Fiona hadn't been going much while waiting to start work. She had met that guy Spence, which made her grin to think of. She wanted that boy in her bed, oh yes. Shaking her head she pushed open the door of the coffee shop, looking for her friend Syri. She hadn't seen her in a few years and it would be cool to hook up again. Fi spotted her and rolled her eyes. She went to the table and sat. "Still dressing like a slut?" she said with a grin. She herself was in Doc Martens, tight fitting jeans and a purple v-neck t-shirt that clung to her body.

Bad Night

Who: Jason & Selene
When: late afternoon/early evening
Where: Sarah's Place

Another day of finals gone and done with and another day closer to the end of school and beginning of summer. He was starting to dread the idea that he'd have to start painting houses again for extra cash, but with his new found 'friend' John... an alternate cash flow might be quite possible. He entered Sarah's and took a seat in a booth with a long sigh before pulling off his black overcoat and revealing his dress shirt that was undone a few buttons and showing off the white undershirt. Jason had just gotten off of work and decided to grab something not cooked in a microwave for dinner before heading home.

Selene had just started her shift. She was not a happy camper. Well, she was never a happy camper when she had to wake up at any point of the day. Waking was not her favorite thing to do. Not that she had a death wish. She had a... Rip Van Winkle wish. But here she was in her stupid little uniform with her stupid little skirt and her stupid little hat... And her hair up in pigtails, chewing some gum because it was kind of expected. So when a guy in an overcoat came in, Selene started her work by grabbing a menu and taking it over to his table. "Hi there," she didn't sound particularly friendly. More like tired. "What can I get you to drink?"

Give Me A Wink

Who: Ransom and Jessalyn
Where: The Weiss Residence
When: Late night

By the time Ransom got home, the house was mostly quiet, his younger brothers and sisters already put to bed. He had no intention of waking them and attempted to creep quietly up towards his room, well aware that he needed a shower. While he didn't mind smelling like Charlotte, the rest of his family didn't need to know about it. As he'd told Charlotte, it was hard to keep a secret when living in close quarters with a bunch of werewolves.

Making it Better

Who: Aiden and Jules
When: Late evening
Where: Their apartment
nsfw

Shortly after Jules got off work, she took a quick shower and put on a pair of shorts and a tank top, heading out of the bathroom with her towel still in her hand. As she walked, the towel got tangled amongst her feet and turning into the bedroom, she stumbled. Normally, it wouldn't have been a big deal. Except for the fact that she smacked her face, specifically the area around her left eye, on the nightstand beside the bed. An hour later, she already had a deep purple bruise showing around her swollen and throbbing eye. She could practically hear Aiden now, wondering how it had happened. She thought about trying to cover it up with make up, but it was no use. He'd see the swelling, so she decided against it and plopped herself down on the couch, awaiting his return.

This is easy as lovers go

Who: Charlotte and Ransom
Where: Charlotte's house
When: Evening
NSFW!

When the news about Mercy hit on Wednesday morning, Ransom immediately knew what he'd missed a couple days prior. She'd been at his house, had run away scared, and he'd still not put two and two together. While he'd like to blame the excitement of graduation, he still felt like he should have caught on sooner. At least she'd gotten help eventually, and from someone he knew he could trust. It was Charlotte's house that had been on the news that morning, and so he waited a little later into the evening before dropping by. He really didn't want to be a part of the media circus, especially as a were himself. When he arrived, it looked like things had finally quieted down and he knocked on the door, smiling to himself as he heard footsteps from inside the house.

Things hadn't calmed down until well after Charlotte had gotten home from school. Charlotte had not appreciated her home becoming a media circus, and the whole household was a little out of sorts from the experience. But it had been worth it in the end. Mercy had a home, and things were quiet now. The front lawn was ruined from cop cars and news vans and the animals were all still in hiding, but things were getting back to normal. Charlotte winced a little at the sound of the door, praying it wasn't another journalist as she got up to get the door. She felt a migraine coming on, and she was praying to keep it at bay for just a few more days.

Of course, once she opened the door and found Ransom everything brightened considerably. "Oh, thank God." she breathed, all but jumping on him as she threw her arms around his neck. Okay, she'd had a bit of a Day.

So don't complicate it by hesitating )

First day on the job

Who: Cian and Open
Where: Public Bar at O'Leary's Pub
When: Evening of 3 June

Cian pulled another three beers, setting the glasses on the bar top and accepting the money from the punter. He'd settled in fairly easily, the other staff giving him the lowdown on the regulars when they could, and appreciating his willingness to get in and pull his weight with the tapping of kegs and emptying ashtrays.

Cian was enjoying the atmosphere of the small pub and the meals they served were about as authentic as he'd tasted since he'd been in the US. While he doubted he'd ever find anyone who could make stew and dumplings like Annie, he didn't mind the large bowl of it served up with still warm from the oven sourdough bread with lashings of butter. His appetite was always huge and it had been a huge attraction to work there when they said the staff could eat their meals there for free. He ate a lot, though one couldn't tell from looking at him, his body lean and trim thanks to his were, both the metabolism and the running he would do.

He'd just come up from tapping another keg when the manager told him it was his turn for a break, passing him a pint and jerking his head toward the Snug where things were a little quieter. "Go have a pint, y've earnt it," he said to Cian, Cian nodding his head in thanks and heading out to sit down in the small snug at the rear of the bar, booths each offering a modicum of privacy with U-shaped benches around small tables.

Who: Ruby Lu and Salome
When: Night!
Where: Their place/Heme

There was something to be said for stripping - it was ridiculously easy to set one's own schedule, and Salome made as much in three nights as most did in a full forty hours, if not more. Which meant that instead of working, Salome and Ruby Lu were going out to party. Heme had opened recently and she hadn't been yet, which was a shocking lapse for a girl who liked to party.

How Old Are You?

Who: Spence and Ava
When: Evening
Where: The park

With work finished for the day, Spence decided he didn't want to sit inside his house and drink alone all night. And given he had just spent most of his day in a vacant bar, he didn't want to go to one to drink either. So he found himself walking around through town, passed Heme and the chaos that still surrounded it. Eventually he found himself in the park, smoking a cigarette and enjoying the quiet. It wouldn't last long. School was out the next day for Scarlet Oak, and given it was summer, teens would be out and about until the wee hours of the morning for the next three months. Fucking fantastic. Spence sat on a wooden bench and stretched his legs out. He could enjoy the rest of his cigarette, breathe in some fresh air, and then start thinking about walking home.

Who: Adrienne and Hope
Where: U of M campus
When: Evening

Adrienne left the building that housed her lab, exiting onto one of the campus's many quadrangles and almost breathing a sigh of relief as she did so. She felt, as she did at the end of so many days since the Light of May, unproductive. Not enough of her time was spent on actual research lately, too much was spent fending off clueless undergraduates who wanted to jump on board the new "trend" of supernatural research, or in convincing Hunters no thank you, she did not need them to capture any vampire research subjects for her. Briefly today she had entertained the thought of moving her work into a secret underground facility, then brushed it off with a chuckle to herself. She was probably antisocial enough as it was.

The young woman glanced idly around the campus as she walked the short distance to the bike rack where she'd left her ride home. It was fairly empty, as most students had moved elsewhere for the summer. However a couple of boys threw a frisbee on the grassy lawn, and there were a few others strolling around- maybe potential students checking out the campus or just taking advantage of a nice place to walk. Adrienne could do with a good long walk herself, she thought as she removed a key from her bag and set about freeing her bike from the rack. Time to find some way to unwind.

Celebratory beer

Who: Jane and Tayne
Where: A bar that serves good liquor
When: Around 10 pm

Jane had had the most amazing three days ever, hands down. Not only had she been with this amazing guy - something she hadn't done in two years, which almost sounded impossible - but she had also found a house to rent with another person, and, best of all, an awesome high-paying job. High paying? No. Huge paying. Huge. And a hot boss, too, even if he was a vampire and automatically out of bounds in Jane's head for all the reasons above. She had already been enjoying the perks of the 80k a year and had splurged a little on some new clothes, and furniture for her new bedroom. A car was next, definitely.

Seeing as Jane hadn't been this happy in years, she decided it was a good night to go out and have a celebratory drink, even if all by herself. She didn't think she needed anyone to celebrate with, in any case. So, with a smile she had also not sported in years, Jane walked into the most presentable bar she could find, and sat on one of the stools, signaling the bartender, who was probably busy, because he didn't come her way right away.

In the car I just can't wait//To take you out on our very first date

Who: Fiona & Hal
When: Mid-evening
Where: Fi's place/The Golden Dragon
Warning: Eventually NSFW.

Her first date in her new town. Fiona was pleased at how fast her track record was going. She had planned on hunting down Spence at some point and she had scored a date while just wandering around. Moving was definately broading her dating horizons. Hopefully she'll get some good sex in while she was at it.

She finished her last touch of make up. Nothing to crazy, but enough to show she tried. Her pants were tight, her Doc Martens clean, and she wore a black tank top with a demin half-jacket over it. Hoop earrings and a little fluffing of her dual colored curls and she was set. Fi looked at herself in the mirror one more time. Yep, she looked hot.

She went into her kitchen, looking at the clock. 5 more minutes till Hal was supposed to pick her up. She was tickled pink he was going to pick her up for dinner. She couldn't remember the last time someone picked her up for a date. Might have been prom. She went to the fridge and took out a bottle of beer drinking it swiftly then popping a few breath mints. She looked at the clock again. Man, this waiting thing sucked.

Who: Justin, Completely Widely Open
Where: Sunny's Diner
When: Most of the afternoon.

Justin sat in a booth in the diner, back to the wall and face stuck in a comic book with his feet up on the booth to keep himself upright. He was dressed in a Wolverine T Shirt and a pair of older jeans, sneakers that had seen better days dangling with two of the neon aces undone and hanging limply over the side of the booth. Sipping on the biggest strawberry milkshake the diner sold and reading with intense concentration, Joshua was lost to the world. This was the final epic battle in this series and he was not going to miss a single detail in a single panel.

His dark gray backpack sat open and forgotten, revealing a couple new dog leashes, different comic books, and his sketching journal, but he didn't notice, so absorbed in his literature. He gaped at the death of a major character and took a sip form his milkshake. He had a couple hours before his shift at the hospital and it was nice to sit back and relax and enjoy his comics.

Got something to tell you.

Who: Christian and Day
When: Late evening
Where: Their home

After some movies at Hayden's house, Christian made his way home alone. The entire way to his house, he was having a hard time deciding how to broach the topic of kissing an opposite elemental to his brother. He could not tell Day, but he had the feeling that if he didn't tell him, he'd freak out when he did find out. And he would find out. He always did. Always. Christian would slip up. He could practically feel it, and if he didn't, Hayden probably would. Parking his car, he went straight upstairs and knocked lightly on his brother's door and once he was given permission, he opened the door. "We have to talk and you're going to be pissed."

When Chris got home, Day was curled up at the head of his bed, hugging his pillow, staring at the tv in the middle of one of the most violent movies he'd ever seen-- December, another of Nastasiya's movies. Not that, that was hard, of course, since he hadn't seen a lot of very violent movies, but still! The knock on his door made him jump, and scramble for the remote to pause the movie and turn off the television, itself. "Yes? Come in?"

Who: Alex and open
When: Afternoon
Where: outside, around Camelot Place

Alex had cleaned up her living room and bathroom at her house before becoming bored and restless. Elle was napping on the couch, but when Alex walked over and scratched behind the puppy's ear, she woke up and started bouncing around enthusiastically. "Hey girl! Let's go for a walk, it's too nice outside." She grinned and walked towards the door, picking up her purse and the leash. Elle barked excitedly and stumbled over herself as she ran for the door, wiggling and bouncing around while Alex tried to attach the leash to her collar. Finally, Alex opened the door with a grin and let Elle drag her out into the sunlight, barely managing to drag the door shut behind her.

The two of them jogged to a little area, where Alex proceeded to goof off with Elle, enjoying the bright sunlight. After a few minutes of running around, she sat in the grass and let Elle explore as far as her leash would let her while she relaxed, pulling a book out of her purse.

Late Night Phone Call

Who: Gabe and Claire
When: Nighttime
Where: Phone!

After Madock retreated to his bedroom, Claire changed into her pajamas and sat back down at her computer. She put her glasses back on and checked the status of her downloads before grabbing a blank CD from her stash and slipping it into the computer to turn the new music. She wanted to pick up the phone and call Gabe and tell him about Madock, but she had promised her brother she wouldn't. But that didn't mean she couldn't still call him just to say hi, and tell him she had some music for him. Grabbing her cell from beside her keyboard, she dialed Gabe's number and leaned back in her chair. It was late, but she didn't think he would be sleeping yet. They were graduating tomorrow, and she was pretty wired herself, so she was hoping maybe he was still awake too.

Gabe was awake, laying in bed as he flipped through the channels on the television. There wasn't anything in particular that he wanted to watch, and his mind wasn't really on the programming options anyways. He was graduating tomorrow. He was done with high school. It was still hard to accept that that stage of his life was over and done with. As excited as he was about college, it was still a funny feeling and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. For him, high school had been a blast. College was the unknown. The phone rang and he picked it up, smiling when he saw who was calling. College couldn't be that bad if Claire was there with him. "Hey," he answered. "What's up?"

"Ha, I knew you wouldn't be sleeping yet," Claire said, using her toes to swivel her desk chair back and forth a bit. "I was just calling to say hey. And to tell you I've made you a happy graduation mixed cd, as cheesy as that sounds. I just didn't want you to be taken back by the sheer awesomeness of it all, so I figured I'd warn you ahead of time."

Phone call of DOOM

Who: Tayne and Vivienne
Where: Phoneland
When: Evening, around 8ish

When Tayne got in that evening, he finally had to admit he'd been putting off calling Vivienne when he knew he ought to at least let her know he hadn't forgotten about her. They didn't have to make plans for tonight-- thank god-- but they ought to at least make plans so he didn't come off like an ass.

So he puttered around the kitchen for a little bit, then finally manned up and picked up his cell to find her number, though he called from his home phone, dropping into a kitchen chair and listening to it ring.

How'd you know it was me? )

A Couple of Furballs

Who: Tabby and Brian
Where: Brian's shop
When: Early evening-ish

Tabby's beat left her at the south end of Main Street, and right around where Brian's shop was. She passed it to finish the street, but then doubled back right around closing time, poking her head in to peer around. The shop hadn't changed much since she was last in here; the furniture for sale was a little different, but not all of it. It did, however, smell different. Last time she'd been here, all she could discern was the faint woody smell from sawdust and polishing agent. Now... now it was a lot of different smells, and she could hardly separate them out from the morass to put names to each one.

So she just came in, letting the door shut behind her and looking around for Brian, himself. She was still in uniform, though her hair was tamed down into a multitude of small braids rather than the massive cloud it had been the day before.

And the kitten's got fur, too. )

Working with dead people is not a pick up line.

Who: Evan and Jovie
When: Evening
Where: Gas station

After Jovie left the bar, she stopped by the grocery store to get some things for dinner for the rest of the week. It was easy to cook on a budget when you were only cooking for one. If Alex decided to give her a call maybe that would change, but she wasn't holding her breath. The guy was a hard nut to crack. But she was looking forward to the challenge. Once she found out what he was and why she couldn't read him, she could find something new to keep her entertained.

On her way home, she stopped by the gas station to fill up her tank and grab something to drink. She walked inside to pay, bombarded immediately by the thoughts of the patrons and employees. Trying to block them long enough to pick out what she wanted with a clear mind, Jovie walked to the back of the gas station where the coolers were, her heels clapping on the floor with every step. She tried to concentrate on the sound her shoes were making rather than the voices she was hearing in her mind. None of the thoughts were interesting... all of them were mundane and dull and to her, that was worse than a migraine.

rejection or not? )
