When Ancilla had delivered the news, Domina had calmly told her to summon Lex and Tanith. When she was alone, it took every ounce of control not to throw a temper tantrum of epic proportions.

Amazingly enough, it never crossed her mind to be afraid. A Moriarty needn't fear anything or anyone. At the very least, everyone from that dungeon would have a spell on them to make them incapable of finding this place again. But she was still angry. This slight was unacceptable.

Remain calm, Mistress, Hades urged. Do what needs to be done, and take your anger out on something worthy later.

Oh, yes. That went without saying. Something was going to die tonight. A precious few of the slaves had already been rounded up. And they would all have to be made examples of. It was what any proper Roman enthusiast would do.

And she would enjoy it.

Sitting at the window - okay, she was actually perched on the ledge, legs swinging - Kat was starting to get impatient. Patience hadn't even been her virtue after all and she hadn't seen Roxy in forever. A week was totally forever when it came to a sister you were used to sharing a room with. Audrey was starting to get on her nerves just because she wasn't Roxy and didn't dye her hair and wouldn't take Kat to get her hair redone and a multitude of other reasons that Kat was occupying herself by chalking up. She was just starting to make up a song about it, toying with recording it and sticking it on YouTube and seeing how long it took Audrey to find it and figure out it was about her when she saw Roxy's car pull up. "Hey!" she called, forgetting for a moment that she wasn't supposed to be there. Whatever, her mom and dad were locked up in their room talking or arguing and she was getting out.

Waiting, Kat tugged at her earrings and beamed when she saw Roxy come walking up. She'd told her that's she catch her if she jumped out the window and Kat was so totally going to do that. A) it sounded like fun and B) Roxy had said she could. Roxy said it was okay and Kat didn't care if it involved sharks, she was doing it. "You'd better catch me," she informed her sister before she pretty much pushed herself off the ledge. Penguins weren't flying birds but hey, that felt pretty cool, all of the air. Damn, why couldn't they fly again? "You know," she informed Roxy, grinning because of course she'd caught her, Kat settled onto her feet. "I totally think that we should like, learn to fly. It'd be awesome."

Having left the sword-welding vampire in the foyer, Val was ready to speak with someone who had some sense. He'd not intended to meet the madam in the bad mood, though, and did his best to shake it off prior to requesting her presence at the front desk. As this was a vampire brothel, he expected she would be in at this hour, but he could be wrong. She didn't need to oversee every single second of the operations, especially if Lex was there to manage security. He couldn't imagine anything getting past the vampire, at least in the evening hours.

Domina was still seething from earlier events. She'd sent Lex and Tanith out to do their respective duties, and set Ancilla to the task of finding her decent references for a blood witch for hire. Oh, no, she would not let Tanith have the satisfaction of that job. Tanith was perfectly qualified - overqualified, she was damn near a master. Yet Domina refused.

She was about ten seconds away from going downstairs and strangling something, but Hades was doing her best to calm her down. Hades was rational while she was not. You don't know how many Lex will be able to round up tonight. You can't kill the precious few slaves you still have when you don't know if you'll need them in the immediate future. The familiar had good advice. So Domina did her best to calm herself. She was about to send for a shot of vampire blood when she was told a client wanted to see her. The blood would have to wait. Domina took a deep, cleansing sigh and sat herself behind her desk. Hades took his standard perch just behind her and to the right, and she rang for him to be sent in.
