given this place or the zombies I'd take the zombies anyday

Who: Locke, Cole, Jack, Angeline, Bunny
When: it's a mystery!
Where: Night of the Living Deadville

Bunny could still smell them. Above the sawdust and the sweat the scent of the walking dead was still strong in her nostrils, even though she'd been back for hours. Going back inside had been a very hard thing for Bunny to do, but she kept her promise. After what she judged to be an hour, she returned. She was able to do this only by facing the truth - that even if she and Duchess McNuggets teamed up in full hybrid forms, they could never take them all. Bunny had gone back to the house and worked her ass off, privately glad that fortifying the house left little room for conversation. But unfortunately, something unexpected had happened. They'd finished. There was absolutely nothing left to do. Bunny had spent the better part of an hour going room to room and re-examining every last possible entrance, and every single one was well covered. There was nothing left to do now but wait - and there were still hours until the zombies actually reached the house.

Sighing, Bunny headed into the living room. She walked to the nearest couch-shaped-thing, ripped off the white sheet revealing the couch below, and fell into the cushions. She propped an arm behind her head, and kicked her legs up on the arm of the couch. She was actually kind of hungry, but not sure she wanted to admit to that just yet. It would have made sense to sleep, but she'd never be capable of that in a million years. Looking up at the ceiling and wondering how they'd manage to get through this (mainly without killing Angeline) she mumbled, "And now we wait."

Down with this sort of thing

Who: Angeline, Jack, Bunny, Cole and Locke
Where: They're coming...
When: Nobody's wearing a watch so your guess is as good as theirs.

Waking up in a dirty old basement midway through trying to come to terms with coming in second for Homecoming Queen was not ideal by any standards. And yet, this was what Angeline Moriarty found herself doing, only with a sharp pain on her back from lying in an awkward position to boot. The heaviness took long to wear off and minutes went by before Angeline even moved or opened her eyes properly. It was like waking from a wonderful heavy peaceful sleep, except with none of the wonderfulness. Or peacefulness, to be honest. Once Angeline moved her Ancient Greek style headband (fit for winners, which stung a lot more than it would have had it just been digging into her scalp and not her pride) so it wasn't hurting her head, Angeline raised her head from the floor and looked around.

"Fantastic." She murmured. Not only was she waking up somewhere completely foreign that was in no way part of the school that she remembered, she was also waking up with a boyfriend she had been seriously considering dumping and his two pedestrian friends, the blue haired boy and the feral weirdo girl. Oh and there was another one, but this boy she had no recollection of ever having seen. A deep sigh later, Angeline moved to sit on her side with her arm holding her upright. "Um...Is anybody dead?" That would make things slightly better. "Hellooooo?" Angeline briefly considered throwing her shoes at people to make sure, but she could swear she'd seen one or two stirring. Which was too bad, really.

you doing okay?

Who: Bunny and Locke
where: SOHS
When: A bit after the incident

Things like what went down in the cafeteria were somewhere on the list of reasons why Locke wasn't sure he wanted to go through yet another life. He wasn't even sure he wanted to go through this one anymore. Yes, incidents that were bloody and involved violence enacted on others for reasons that he wasn't even sure of were enough to send the phoenix into a dark little pit of depression. Granted he had already been halfway down thanks to everything that was happening with Cole and probably Angeline too, but this was making it worse. He'd messed up and that was his fault, he had to deal. What had Penny done? Locke didn't know her that well since she was two grades below him, but he didn't think that she seemed like that bad of a girl. There were worse people out there who deserved to get attacked by girls with boxcutters more. And Cole was there. Yeah, that was what Locke had focused in on to keep from freaking out over students attacking students, blue hair that didn't seem attached to an upset person. Probably shock. Teenagers didn't always know how to handle blood. I've seen more blood than any of them. Except maybe for that Darklis girl...

Shaking himself out of his thoughts, Locke hiked his backpack up on his shoulder and craned his neck to peer out the window, hoping to catch sight of his guardian. He understood that things were tough for her since she was still going through that whole cancer thing - not cool, he wished it wasn't happening - but he was having to go through high school again. High school and crazies who - oh hey, Bunny. Locke had been meaning to catch up with her ever since he saw her change her relationship status on Facebook. He refused to admit the little thrill it had given him because he doubted it was actually a good thing. Abandoning his post by the window, he walked over in front of her. "Hey Bunny. Holding up okay?" Was she friends with Penny? A question Locke realized he didn't know the answer to, but if it was 'yes' then she wouldn't be doing okay so he needed to make sure that she was alright. If he could focus on someone else for a few minutes then he wouldn't have to just be standing there with his thoughts about the general decline of humanity. Or speedy decline. It's pretty damn speedy these days. When people blew up bridges...

that's what fake girlfriends are for!

Who: Locke, Cole, and Bunny
When: 4ish
Where: Cole’s house

Bunny was trying to be a good fake girlfriend. She had decided a good way to do this would be to visit Cole after school since he hadn’t been in school that day, and bring him a present. And also bring him the friend she was now certain he was secretly gay for. Wasn’t that nice? Locke had almost put a wrench in her plans with his little admission earlier, but he had agreed to it. Bunny really couldn’t blame Cole for not liking Angeline. She sure didn’t like Angeline, not that she had told Locke that. She’d certainly considered it though.

As she and Locke walked up the Landers driveway together, Bunny slipped her totally kick-ass Gizmo backpack off her shoulders, and began routing around inside for her gift to Cole. "I'm glad you decided to come," she told Locke. "We haven't all seen as much this summer as I would have liked. I'm sorry that I kind of... sucked, for half of it. I know you've been through hell lately. Forgive me?" She looked up at him with a hopeful smile. Faking it was getting easier every day.

Make sure you don't tell on me

Who: Kristen and OPEN
When: Around 3:00 p.m.
Where: Elementary school playground

Kristen wasn't supposed to be on the swing, tilted back so far that her hair was brushing the ground while she had a clear, if upside-down, view of the brick wall of the school. A school that she'd been in a few hours ago and would be in again the next morning. Because that was what kids did; they went to school every day except Saturday and Sunday. After school they were supposed to go back home to their families. Or, in Kristen's case, they were supposed to go to the daycare center for a few hours until their big sister got done with work so that she could pick her up and maybe take her out for ice cream. Kristen snorted at herself when she thought that, knowing it wasn't true. She was still grounded and even if she'd gone to the daycare like she was supposed to there wouldn't have been any ice cream. She'd just have been stuck there and that little boy who was always shouting would've torn up the drawing she'd been working on for Nikita. She'd seen it when she'd been drifting off near the end of school, chin propped in her hand as she gazed out the window and tried to find shapes in the clouds since the teacher wasn't talking about anything interesting. Even her earrings had stopped being fun to poke at around lunch-time.

So it'd just made good sense to her that she shouldn't go to the daycare. Instead, she'd waited until the buses and most of the cars in the parking lot were gone, and then she'd snuck into the playground and taken up residence on one of the swings. If she'd stopped to think about it then she'd have probably been afraid and she'd have run all the way to Little Miracles. Because every time that she wandered away from where she was supposed to be she ended up meeting someone scary. First there'd been that lady who had said things about breaking bones and little birds and then there'd been the vampire with red eyes who'd almost killed Mitzi. But Kristen wasn't thinking about any of those things. She was thinking about how much more interesting everything looked when she was hanging upside down, and about whether her drawing would just get ruined another day if it didn't today, and then she thought about how mad Missy was going to be with her. "I don't care," Kristen told the wood chips underneath of her, eyes briefly focused on one that was bigger and darker than the others. "She always finds reasons to be mad anyhow, so I might as well give her another one." Or maybe she'd leave the playground in time to meet Missy outside of the daycare so that she didn't know she was there... unless one of the workers went and called her. That wouldn't be very nice of them. Kristen's smile turned into a frown before she shrugged it away in favor of watching a particularly large ladybug as it plodded along from chip to chip. Focusing there kept her from acknowledging the tingle in the back of her mind that would've made her wonder how mad Missy was going to be this time.

It might finally involve that tracking bracelet she'd threatened her with the last time.

ride up to your door

Who: Angeline and Locke
When: Late afternoon
Where: Moriarty place

Locke didn't want to leave his computer. He didn't want to leave the house either. Sure it still didn't feel quite like home, but that didn't mean it wasn't. People knew that he was here and this was how to get hold of him. People like a blue-haired guy who had told him to go away and hadn't said a word to him since. Yeah. That kinda got to him. Especially since yesterday there'd been that big explosion and no one had heard from him or his sisters... Locke didn't like jumping to the worst possible conclusion but he hadn't had to jump here. He'd taken a small step and all of the conclusions had found him. He couldn't even do his homework to take his mind off it because he'd done it all already. God but being a nerd who loved learning could be a pain in the ass sometimes. Usually just times like now when he wanted to lose himself in a menial task like math or history or an english paper. Teachers were getting awfully lax when they didn't give you enough homework to keep you occupied all day.

It wasn't until after noon, when he'd paced so much in the living room that Amelia had told him to stop before he wore a path right into the hardwood floor, that Locke remembered he had somewhere he could go to take his mind off things. Tall, lanky, blue-haired shaped things. Stop that! Locke ruffled his hair and tugged on a fresh tanktop before shouting at Amelia that he was going over to visit a friend. Then he stopped at the door and wondered why he had said 'friend' instead of 'girlfriend'. Angeline was his girlfriend, right? They were dating and she had taken him to that fancy party and everything. Yet the person that he kept thinking about when he went to - goddamnit he was not thinking about that. All he was thinking about was getting his bike out of the garage, climbing on and pedaling his way over to Angeline's. It was a nice, long ride and by the time he got there his hair was a little damp. He probably should have taken his time so that he was a little less gross, but hopefully Angelina wouldn't mind all that much. But damn her house was big. Swallowing hard, a little intimidated just by the house and other houses in the area, Locke propped his bike up and went to ring the doorbell. That was when it finally occurred to him that he probably should've called to make sure Angeline was actually here. If she wasn't then he guessed he could just go for a longer ride...
