Come on make me feel alive Who: Liliya and Lizbeth Where: Liliya's home When: Later in the evening Warning: Potentially NSFW
Very simply put, there was no such thing as 'a completely good day' in Liliya's life. Even when she had had that brief vacation in New York City with Via - something that she no longer allowed herself to so much as think about - it had not been completely good because her mind had still drifted back to work or to worry. There was always something. There was never a moment of peace. That was why she turned to the angelic blood. Maureen could tsk all that she wanted, but this was the life that she had thrust her into. Liliya did not see her engaging herself in this job so she did not think that the other vampire had any room to talk. So far as she was concerned the life of a senator was nothing compared to the one she had been given. Now, had she simply been the aide to a city administrator then she would have been able to content herself with Naoki and nothing more, but that was not it. Every time word came of a vampire doing something wrong - and even if it did not reach the news, it reached her - Liliya was left clenching her pen and staring at the phone while she waited for it to ring with Michael on the other end demanding to know why she had not put an end to it yet. No one else wanted her job because it was impossible to have, impossible to give up without surrendering her fangs and therefore her life... so she was just a well-maintained druggie who now had to keep two angelic-blooded witches on tap. Lizbeth was doing well at responding to her calls. She had only used her once since the initial interview, but how easily she had responded and how eager she was to give her blood straight from the source? It was refreshing and when Liliya had felt the familiar craving building upon returning home later than usual from the office she had not turned for the fridge but for the phone.
Now she was settled on the couch in her office with her heel-clad feet actually resting on the table. It was her office and if she wanted her feet there for a few minutes while she did absolutely nothing then they were going to be there. Lizbeth was on her way over and according to the call, she knew to just come in the front door rather than bothering to knock and set Snowball off. If Snowball got involved then chances were high that she would alert Naoki and Naoki would ask questions. Now Liliya had no problem telling the man to mind his own business, she had done so multiple times, but it would take up time and she was hungry. For multiple things. Taking times to soothe any of his ruffled feathers or even just to slam the door in his face and send him off to his room and then assure Lizbeth that everything was alright would not get her closer to her end goals. Though if she could pick one thing about Naoki that she actually enjoyed, then Liliya would have gone for Snowball. The dog was pleasant and, well, a dog. She wanted what she wanted and simply loved everyone. Sometimes it was nice just to have her there to bury her hands in her fur and get her face licked with nothing expected but to scratch behind her ears. If she had not been nearly certain that Lizbeth would be here within ten minutes then she would have called for the familiar to keep her company, but instead she contented herself with reaching for her Blackberry to scroll through the new emails that had arrived since she had left the office.
It did not surprise her to see that she already had five.
