"I'm in shock! Look, I've got a blanket."

Who: Kenna, open to whatever student/chaperon was unlucky enough to get stuck with her as a roomie
When: Afternoon
Where: U of M Hospital

In Kenna's defense, they never should have assigned her to a male nurse. A young, attractive male nurse. She'd just undergone a horrific experience she didn't know how to cope with and couldn't begin to understand, only to find out it was all in her head, which really all boiled down to Kenna acting out simply because it was familiar. Shamelessly hitting on the poor bastard and walking around without a hospital gown (or anything else) on was what she would have done if everything was fine, so by God, that was what she was going to do. And had done. Multiple times. After her x-ray -- which Kenna had objected to very strongly on the grounds of fucking logic, you shithead because really, they were worried about radiation, cleared her for that, and then wheeled her off for a x-ray? Fucking really? -- Kenna was pretty sure they'd 'forgotten' her on purpose. They'd left her in the x-ray room a lot longer than felt necessary. She'd been just about ready to ditch the wheelchair and start walking around, looking for that male nurse, trouble, or Treat - not necessarily in that order - when someone had finally come to take her back to her room.

"About time," Kenna sighed, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes. "You won't let me leave, but you don't watch me very closely. Next time you do that you're not going to find me again, because I'm going to quit this mess." The orderly did not respond. Kenna suspected the orderlies had been specifically told not to talk to her. Fair enough order, that. It did encourage her.

When she was wheeled back in her room, a curtain was drawn around the other bed - that had been empty when she left. "What's the curtain drawn for?" she asked.

"We're past capacity," the orderly admitted. "You're going to have to share." She put the wheelchair's brakes on, and promptly hauled ass out of the room. A room-mate, huh? Kenna got up and headed over to the curtain, pulling it back without stopping to think twice about it. She was going to hazard a guess that they'd been at the school, too. "Fine mess this is, huh?"

You must be this tall... TO DIE!

Who: Juliette, MacKenna, Crowley, Samantha, Treat
When: Half past Fuct O'Clock
Where: the SUPER dark carnival

The seatbelt was digging into MacKenna's tummy, and she groaned and tried to find a more comfortable position. She was not ready to wake up, but she was so damned uncomfortable. The seatbelt was secured too tightly for her to move much though, and eventually she opened her eyes. She blinked twice in confusion, and then her eyes went wide. She was not in Treat's car or any car, but she was looking down at a wooden track.

"The fuck?" She sat up straight, quickly looking around. She was in the first car of a roller coaster, and it was moving slowly down a long decline. Too slowly, really, and the seatbelt was the only thing keeping her in place. What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck I didn't even drink that much last night! She had woken up in some pretty strange places before, but this one took the cake. She tried to remember what the fuck she had done last night. The last thing she remembered was Crowley being drunk, and deciding to take him in some closet somewhere before he was too drunk to be any fun. She'd only been a little buzzed! She was still feeling a little buzzed. She was still wearing her homecoming dress. Frowning, she twisted as much as she could to look behind her. Crowley was there, along with a few girls she didn't recognize. Towards the back of the car, she could see Treat. Out cold. Buzzed or not, Kenna knew something was very wrong. "Treat?! What's going on? Wake up, you lot!"

Her fever dream

WHO: Kenna, Treat, probably familiars
WHERE: Treat's house, specifically outside the guest bedroom
WHEN: Stupid o'clock in the morning, about 2am-ish

So far, so good. Despite the fact that there had been no nightmares this time around, Treat had slept fitfully at best. The downside of not actually sleeping next to the person whose dreams you were supposed to be consuming was that you didn't know when they were sleeping. Finally, when he woke up for the umpteenth time that night at around two in the morning, he decided that Tanith was hopefully asleep by now. Throwing on a robe and cat slippers, he made his way down the hall towards the guest bedroom where Tanith was sleeping. And, hopefully, Eztli, too. The last thing he needed was for there to be a witness to all this strangeness.

A language on her face. )

Is this seat taken?

Who: Crowley and MacKenna
When: Third period
Where: SOHS

American high school was such a head trip.

True to his word, Treat had taken MacKenna to the public school this morning and arranged with the principal for MacKenna to sit in on classes to see if she would like it here. She'd been given a schedule, and the vice principal had even walked her to her first class to make sure she found it okay. From then on? It had all been kind of a hilarious blur. For one thing, apparently Hollywood movies did not lie and Homecoming was actually a super big deal here. And everyone appeared to be in a tizzy over it. MacKenna had spent the better part of the first period class she'd sat in on having it explained to her what Homecoming involved, and why she should be super disappointed she didn't come in in time to qualify for Homecoming queen. It all seemed fabulously ridiculous and theatrical, so naturally, MacKenna was all for it.

Hey I just met you and this is crazy but I'm the new kid so get the fuck out of my way. )

Surprise: it's a girl!

Who: Treat and MacKenna (and Banges)
When: Afternoon
Where: Treat's house

There was good news and bad news. The good news was that MacKenna had finally stopped crying this morning. The bad news was she was pretty sure it was due solely to dehydration. There was just nothing left. She felt weak, and hadn't moved anymore than she had to since late last night.

Everyone on the train had been looking at her funny, so before taking the bus from Detroit to Scarlet Oak, she decided to give them a reason to look at her funny. She pulled on the most random, mismatched articles of clothing near the top of one suit case, and glared at anyone who dared to keep looking at her funny.

No one was waiting for her at the bus station, but sadly, MacKenna couldn't even be surprised by this anymore. Great Auntie Desiree hadn't known she was coming, so she probably hadn't informed her son, either. MacKenna didn't even know the guy's number. She had his address though, so she used some of the money her mother had given her to call a cab. The cabbie seemed to have some pity in him, and he had loaded all four of her suitcases and her massive trunk for her. When they reached the address, MacKenna hugged Banges tight, and got out of the car. There was a cleaning van in the driveway. It also looked like someone had driven a motorbike on the lawn. 'Go on,' Banges urged. 'You can do it, Kenna!' MacKenna sighed, and as the cabbie began unloading all her things in the driveway, she headed up to the door.
