Saturday - 10/20/07

Who: Everyone who received invites
When: Saturday night, starting around 8 pm
Where: The student lounge
What: Frankie's surprise party!

When it came to planning big, elaborate things, Vinnie wasn’t so good at it. Luckily, when it came to planning and working on stuff for Frankie’s surprise party, Nate had his back. He and Nate were gonna split the cost of supplies and stuff for the shindig itself and Nate was also gonna bake the cake, which was a huge relief. Vinnie wasn’t very skilled in the cooking or baking departments so he was glad that Nate at least was. As for the rest of the food, the two guys had managed to get stuff from the kitchens, so that was another huge relief.

The invites to the surprise bash had been sent out earlier in the week and Vinnie was happy to see the responses he had been getting. It seemed like it was gonna be a good sized party after all! Hopefully, Frankie would like her surprise. He didn’t doubt she would, though. Vinnie was pretty sure his sister was gonna be ecstatic about it.

After his last class of the day, Vinnie ran out to Party City to get balloons, streamers and other decorations to put up in the student lounge. Once he got back to the school, he changed his clothes, grabbed the supplies and his iPod and headed off to the kitchens for all the food. Luckily, the kitchen staff had set everything up on a food cart for him so that all he had to do was move it over to the table. Sweet deal.

With the loaded cart on hand, Vinnie headed off to the lounge to get everything ready. The first thing he did when he got into the lounge was hook up his iPod to the sound system. He needed music to entertain him while he set everything up. Once that was done, he grabbed all the drinks and bowls and plates of chips, dips, cheeses and other finger foods and spread them across the large table in the lounge, placing Nate’s homemade cake in the middle. Next came the decorations. He hung red streamers from the ceiling to all the walls, blew up a ton of red balloons and hung up a huge sign that said ‘Happy Birthday Frankie!’ on the wall across from the door.

Once he was done with all that, he plopped on one of the sofas he had moved out of the way to create a ‘dance floor’ and let out a sigh of slight exhaustion as he waited for the guests to start arriving.

Who: Vinnie and Zevira
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: Outside on an open field
What: Soccer lessons and some other things

When Zevira asked Vinnie to teach her how to play soccer, he was more than happy to do it. It had been such a long time since he had the chance to play soccer so he jumped at any chance that he could get. Well, there was that and the fact that he found Zevira unbelievable cute. After hanging out with her on numerous accounts, he realized that you couldn't not like her. Sure, she was a little sheltered and hadn't experienced many regular things like driving or going to a beach, but whatever. He could help out with those.

After lunch, Vinnie headed back to his room to change his clothes. He pulled on one of his high school's soccer jerseys and short then pulled on his socks and finished off by pulling on his cleats. Sure, it was just a lesson today, but he still liked to be in all his gear. It just made him feel more confident about his skills. Kneeling on the floor to look under his bed, he pulled his soccer ball out from under it and then headed out the door.

Once he was outside, he dropped the ball to the ground and started dribbling it around with his feet. There was no sign of Zevira yet, which was fine because then that gave him some time to warm up and get rid of any rustiness. God, he missed playing soccer so much. And the weather right now was perfect for it.. just like it used to be back in Chicago when he'd play with his high school team. Stopping the ball with the bottom of his foot, he flicked his ankle down and flipped the ball into the air and proceeded to alternate bouncing it from one knee to another.

Who: Lelia and Zevira
Where: The common room
When: 3 a.m.
What: Sharing each others company.

Lelia was dressed in plain black PJ's that added little to her figure, clothing Arc would certainly not approve of. But she felt comfortable in them, and after her nightmare, comfort was important. She hugged her arms close at her side, still rolling through the thoughts that had plagued her dream. That man...except it hadn't been him...it had been...

She shook her head and crossed the threshold into the common room, easily spotting the girl she was looking for, despite having never met face to face. It was hard to miss a girl with pink hair in this school though. Lelia did her best to feign a smile, and slowly approached, keeping her eyes cast to the floor, her arms still crossed protectively over her. "Hi...I'm Lelia...thanks for...for offering to sit with me."

Saturday night

Who: Reggie and Z
What:Chit chatting and foot massages
Where:The lobby
when:saturday evening 9:45ish

It wasn’t all that late, but Reggie could never sleep at night regardless.. Point in fact, at night was when he was always most active. It was like his brain worked in reverse. During the day he was as dead as a vampire(unless he was out on the football field) but then during the night is when he always came alive and wanted to prowl. The night had been okay, he’d gotten to talk to his sweet lips, was utterly amused by his conversation with Shizuka, and now he was off to go meet Z. A night that wasn’t going so great from the start now seemed to be getting better. At least tonight he had someone to hang out with for a while. Which was great. Reggie hated night, and not having anyone to talk to or hang out with. The reason why is because it gave him too much time to think, and in Reggies case, thinking was never a good thing.

So, while it was still early enough Reggie headed out of his room, and towards the lobby where z had said she was. He was still in his jeans that he wore to the party earlier that night, but as far as a shirt went.. Reggie never wore a shirt. He was shirtless, as always. He changed hats though, and was now wearing his 69 hat. It was his favorite number after all. Favorite position, and the number on the back of his football jersey. He grabbed his jacket, his letterman jacket form his old school and shrugged it on over his shoulders. The jacket was different, and not a shirt. He was proud to wear his jacket, even if this was a different school. The letter M on the front of his jacket, along with his football, and track symbol, and the three bars he had already gotten.

After putting his jacket on, he slipped into some house shoes (black suede slippers with some white socks on as well) then he grabbed a bottle of lotion, and headed out of his room. He walked down the halls, and made a couple of turns and soon ended up in the lobby. Having no clue where to find Z, he didn’t even know what she looked like just yet. He had an idea, but, well damn. There was only one way to go about it. Not knowing, he walked up a couple of feet behind her, and glanced around. Finally, he just shouted out really loudly. “ Yo Z, where you be at sweet cotton candy. ? “ he asked, and then he noticed that the girl in front of him had oink hair!! Oh snap! Pink hair! “ Wow, talk about some cotton candy, you got a whole head of hair full of it. Damn, I wonder if you taste as sweet as you look. “ He was crude, obnoxious, and straight up blunt. It was a good thing, as well as a curse. Charm, it got him exactly what he wanted at times, and others? Just got him into cow shit up to his knees in trouble.

Who: Vinnie, Zevira
When: Evening 7 (or 8, I don't remember lol)
Where: The halls >> Club 5000
What: A date Friends go out to a club!

Oh, good Lord this was nerve wracking. Slender, soft hands wrapped around themselves as their owner paced back and forth through the halls where the boys and girls dorms came to intersect. In the ten minutes it took between her signing offline from her conversation with both Reggie and Shizuka. She had told her best friend, Shi-chan, that she was going to wear a white cap-sleeved shirt with a dark green tank top over that. While the color scheme was still the same, she had switched out the tank top in favor of an emerald green corset that had silver contrast over the boning and around the hem. The white shirt had a wide collar that revealed most of the collar bone around her neck, and practically all of the pink gems on her skin.

At least the corset helped keep down the shirt so not everyone saw she had jewels on her stomach as well. It wasn't really something they needed to know even if she could pass them off as stick-on jewelry. Zevira was concerned as it was that someone would ask about them--though she planned to say she bought them online. So there was that, at least. And there would be Vinnie. He seemed like a comforting sort and she felt a little more at ease.

Her painted nails ran along her thighs as she adjusted her shorts, pulling them down slightly because they were pretty darn short shorts. She liked them, they were freeing and she rarely ever (read: almost never) wore such revealing clothes. It felt pretty good inside to know she might be able to get out without going into a panic. But her greatest fear at this moment was that Vinnie would not approve of her attire. Reggie brought up strange questions that had begun to plague her in the last half an hour. Did she like Vinnie? Probably. He was a real sweetie with a sense of humor she could appreciate. Was this a date? Hell if she knew. Maybe she'd ask, later.

Much later.

At the sound of footsteps suddenly, Zevira turned and looked up to see her companion for the night. Her stomach felt queasy but all she could do was give him her signature sweet smile. "Hey."

Saturday 9/22/07

Who: Cole, Hunter, Shizuka, Zevira
When: All day long
Where: Boston center
What: New friends take a trip into the city

This was amazing. Breath-takingly so. Driving into the city had been magical enough for Zevira. Pink eyes looked in awe at the tall buildings and bridges, most of the highway newly built. The ports were beautiful, the water dark and crisp in the cool September day. Birds flew by, mostly ducks or goose, and the hundreds of cars on the road going North or South were distracting to the Gemman. This was magical, and that was only the drive.

When they had climbed out of the car, the pink haired youth got her first smell of city and smog, dirt, grime, and stale gas. It was something she accepted and would forever remember that scent as "Boston." Sighing, she finally slipped off of the backseat and let her sneakered feet touch the old pavement of the parking garage. There was no one around, not that she could see, but camera's lurked everywhere in Boston. As she got down her fingers adjusted the pale purple scarf of silk around her face until she looked like a young woman from India with only her eyes visible above the bridge of her nose where the scarf stopped.

Monday 9/17/07

Who: Cole, Zevira
When: Monday night (around 8?)
Where: Campus grounds
What: They take a walk.

It was a pretty nice evening. Zevira smiled softly, if not a little worriedly, as she shut her laptop quietly. She didn't want to bug Cassie going in or out of their dorm, but felt restless and had to take a walk. After finishing her conversation with Cole, who she thought seemed like a very nice person, she left the room in silence. Her sneakers were carried in one hand, her keys being stuffed into the pocket of her jeans. They were one of her favorite pair. Faded blue over the thighs and knees, but mostly dark blue along the side. She had patches stitched on over the rear pockets, the patterns matching but being entirely different. The knees had cuts in them, ones she had surged so they didn't fray and look horribly ugly like most torn jeans did. You could see one of the gems on her right knee when she walked just a certain way.

Her sweater was fitted, but loose enough it wasn't snug around the middle. It sort of looked like a rainbow had thrown up, only because Zevira knew style, she could pull it off. A hood was drawn up around her head to hide her hair, but she chose to leave behind her usual gloves and scarf. A bad idea considering it was chilly out. At least the cold was particularly nice this time of year, not like in the winter.

At the end of the hall to the female dorm where she waited for Cole to turn up. The feeling of waiting for a boy to show up, even one who would be a friend, was a new one on her. It felt strange, but nice. Zevira smiled and glanced around at the rather empty halls while fitting her hands into her rear pockets and turning her back on both halls completely, taking a few steps away. She hummed, because there was something lonely about standing there by herself, and it was a cute song. However, she was by no means good.

Thursday - 9/13/07

Who: Zevira and Vinnie
When: Thursday afternoon, after classes
Where: One of the study lounges
What: Getting to know some new people

Even though he hadn't had a full week of classes yet, Vinnie still had a lot of homework to do already. Geez. Even his first week at his other school had been easier than that, considering the drama with his sister and cousin that he had been thrown into as soon as he had arrived. Guess if he had to choose between the two, he'd grudgingly choose the homework. Definitely a million times better than trying to defend Frankie and Cissy from each other and other people at the school.

Once all his classes were over, Vinnie headed over to one of the study lounges near his dorm wing. Might as well get a move on on all this work before he got tired and crashed. He was still kinda jet lagged after all the flying he had done since leaving the other school so time was money when it came to getting things done. Hopefully this jet lag would go away soon because he hated zonking out so early and missing all the fun that night time usually brought around.

Arriving at the study lounge, he sat down at an empty table near a window and settled his stuff on the table top. Taking out all his books, he started with his Math homework since that was the one that was actually due tomorrow. Gah, Math.. Vinnie didn't like it all that much, but he somehow managed to be good at it. He opened his book and a notebook and started scribbling away at an inequality.

Wednesday 9/12/07

Who: Starbuck, Zevira
When: Afternoon, after lunch with Shizuka
Where: Starbuck's room
What: Zevira is going to pick up her book

Well, today was certainly one adventure after another. First, she met Shizuka, who was very sweet, and now she was off to go meet Starbuck. He seemed very nice, and the stereotypical side of her brain said that he had to be nice because he had a baby daughter. She'd find out soon enough, Zevira would, as she left her room around 2PM. Honestly, the Gemman was a little wary about going through the boys wing. Was she even allowed to? So long as she didn't go inside the rooms it seemed like it was okay. Her white sneakers slapped on the floor as she moved quickly, looking as if she were trying to take up as least space as possible and not be seen. It was only a shame she was so colorful.

Her purple scarf tied around her hair and hiding all but her bright, magenta eyes, Zevira wore a blue shirt. It had long sleeves that reached beyond her wrists, she bought them large and took them in herself at the sides so it fit comfortably but not baggy and frumpy. She didn't like skin-tight clothes because someone once had made a comment she had skin cancer when they saw the lumps on her back that were the little gems. Blue jeans covered her legs, but there were patches she had sewn on herself over the knees and rear pockets that had very bright rainbows with white starts throughout the pattern. Her sneakers were white, but the laces were orange.

What could she say? She liked color.

At the end of the hall she let out a sigh, hand over her chest where the pads of her fingers could feel one of the larger gems in her skin, she looked relieved. To have made it down the hall without conflict was the hardest part of the trip! Now, to knock and hope Mr. Starbuck was there--and hopefully not wake little Kamea if she was sleeping. Carefully, Zevira lifted her hand to the marked door and knocked gently, three times, and then took a customary pace back. Her eyes fell to the floor, head tipping forward as her hands fiddled in her pockets nervously. Online she was rather talkative and very social, but in person she felt all constrained and bunched up. She never knew what to say.

Wednesday 9/12/07

Who: Shizuka, Zevira
When: Lunch
Where: The Lunch Line
What: Two shy girls, one long line, one common quest for food. That, and the shock that is Zevira's face.

There was no bounds for the hunger raging inside Zevira's tiny stomach. She was practically starving. For some reason she didn't think it would take a genius to remember to eat breakfast in the morning. Yet she had not done so, having over slept. The Gemman wasn't used to having to wake up for anything and still had not gotten on board to the school's schedule. In that respect, she was very slow. So with the fastest steps she could muster without looking like she was running or even attempting to go somewhere too quickly, Zevira hustled to the cafeteria. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, at least at that moment, but the line was not. Frowning, she pushed her hands into her pockets. These days she learned how to get them even into the tightest of spaces, despite the large gem taking up most of the back of her hand. She had gloves on anyway. They were thin, much like framers gloves--in the way they were light and breathable--if anyone had ever worked in a frame shop. Most of her "covering" clothes were thin because 60 degrees was warm any time of the year.

When Zevira made it to the end of the line, she sighed. She wasn't even late for lunch. Was this considered early? She would have to haul some serious ass everyday if she wanted to avoid this line, or come later. Shaking her head, a curl of pink hair falling in front of her face to be moved back into the purple scarf she had tying back her hair and hiding most of it behind the silky fabric, she waited. There were only a handful of people behind her by the time she got to the food, which looked absolutely divine at this point, but many before. When she grabbed a tray and began to put a plate of that days "special" on it, she gasped as her clumsy elbow knocked a drink over the tray before hers.

"I'm so sorry!" she said as she looked around for a napkin to clean it up with. "I didn't get anything on you, did?" Zevira frowned behind the scarf she had laced over the front of her face. She knew she looked very strange and may as well have just worn a ski mask she showed so little of her skin. Wearing her scarves was a habit she knew she would need to break in time, but for now she was fine looking a little silly. If people asked, people she knew she'd never see again, sometimes she lied and told them she was adopted into an Indian family. That usually shut them up. But she couldn't really lie to these people at school, they had potential to be friends. Or, in the least, people who would know she was lying.
