Where: The cafeteria!
When: Dinnerish-time, post 4.30pm
What: Summer meets Astrid, a fellow witch, and then later, Keagan
Summer had pretty much been miserable since Jacob left. At first, her misery was because the only person she'd truly befriended -- who ended up becoming her boyfriend -- was now off campus for who knew how long, but now her misery was because that same person was coming apart from her. She didn't know what Jacob was up to, aside from taking care of his sick mother, but it was something she labeled "not good." His speech had become erratic, and he seemed very distracted. He sounded occasionally hyper, and then would swing from jolted to apathetic.
It wasn't like she needed help wondering if things had moved too quickly between them. She knew they had. They were still learning things about each other, and the more she learned about Jacob, the more she wondered if they were right for each other. Then he left, and put her worries aside, due to her missing him so badly, only to have them return when their interaction was limited to the phone and computer.
The distraction of worrying about her disconcertingly small number of confidants and friends here at TJS was what made her drop her Snapple bottle right off her tray on the way to the table. She let out a gasp as it fell, then snapped her hand into the air, hastily mumbled something that didn't quite sound like English, and there was a hiss and a pop! sound before the Snapple bottle disappeared from where it had been, and reappeared in her palm.
Having not done this with a bottle of liquid for quite some time, she let out a disbelieving guffaw, brown cow eyes huge, and looked at the Snapple bottle like it had sung a song.
