Who: Garret and Mal
What: Friskiness
Where: Mal's office
When: Friday afternoon
Rating: NSFW

Rorie had been packed and shipped off this morning to center himself again. It was almost like therapy- when he started falling apart, he took a few days off to put himself back together. Garret could appreciate the need to get away from everything and fix yourself, and he wasn't worried that Rorie wouldn't come back. Rorie would always come back to him. But this meant that Rorie's house would be vacant for Finn to have a few days of space, and Garret could spend some time with his favorite pup in a man suit. He had two hours before his shift started, which was just enough to find Mal, ravage him, then limp to the infirmary before he needed to go to work.

Sneaking in from the office next door, Garret phased through the wall, sneaking up behind Mal. (Not that he thought for a moment that the hound hadn't heard/smelled him coming.) For half a second, he looked over the form before him, the well rounded shoulders and the subtle curve of the waistline, and those dark locks that Garret loved to tangle his fingers in when they kissed. Wrapping both arms around his lover, Garret's lips immediately found their way to the smooth skin of Mal's neck. Purring softly, small nips were made beneath the jawline, Garret using his chin to tilt Mal's upward. His hands splayed themselves on the hound's chest. "I have two hours before my shift starts," he murmured softly, gently biting on Mal's left earlobe. "And it has been so, so, so long since someone has bent me over their desk and fucked me."

It was at the very latest six in the morning when Garret finally climbed out of Rorie's bed, leaving his young love with a kiss to the forehead as he climbed into the shower to wash the night of sex off his skin. After dressing, pressing another soft kiss to Rorie's face and writing a quick note ("Gone to Mal's, be back for lunch"), Garret jogged the short distance between the two houses and let himself into the hound's place. He had missed the both of them, though he knew Rorie needed to be handled more delicately, because his trust was shattered more easily. Mal operated differently. Garret could take a whole different approach with the hound.

Mal looked dignified and peaceful and Max looked like he'd been hit by a bus. )

Who: Rorie and Mal
When: Late afternoon/evening
Where: Rorie's house
What: Rorie needs Mal's help putting together Garret's birthday present.
Rating: NSFW
Status: INCOMPLETE!

Rorie was a bit nervous. He knew Garret didn't want anything for his birthday, but he was doing it anyways. Just because. It'd be easy enough to give it to him on Sunday after his birthday. He'd gotten a few things together and was glad that Garret was at his apartment as he worked to get things set up in the bedroom and living room. Pete was in the garage, contently sleeping in his bed next to the heater. Smoothing down the shirt he had on, which wouldn't be on long, he waited nervously for Mal to come over and help out.

Mal was trying to figure out just how the hell he'd gotten himself talked into this. )

Who: Mal and Max
When: Evening, past sundown
Where: Playground
What: Max yelled at Rorie and refused to come home so now it's Mal's turn.

How on earth did the hellhound get himself into these situations? He'd come back to Garret's house after spending time in his own place just to get his head together and found an irate Rorie yelling about curfews and disrespectful pups and how Mal needed to go out and fetch him home. Mal was half tempted to leave Max outside on his own for a bit. It wouldn't hurt the pup any. He knew the basics of hunting so food wouldn't be an issue. It wasn't like he'd freeze if he remembered to keep himself warm.  Max was perfectly capable of taking care of himself for at least a short amount of time. If he wanted to come home, he was more that able to do so. Rorie didn't take kindly to that suggestion.

Which meant Malakai was now running around, an hour past sundown, trying to find a pup who had probably hit puberty and was acting out. Lovely. He knew the pup wasn't on campus so he started to hunt him down, following the faint scent trail left behind. It took a bit, but he finally tracked Max to a playground just outside the center of Danvers. Wanting a bit of privacy -because scolding hellhounds was never quiet- Mal cast a silencing spell and a mirage charm, encompassing the whole of the empty play area. Now he could shift without worrying some human would see him and freak out. The only thing they'd see would be an empty playset.

It was easy enough to see the pup hiding underneath the slide, so Mal walked over, crouching down at the far end so he wouldn't crowd Max. Still, it was obvious he wasn't happy, if for no other reason than he had to find the pup like a training hound on a hunt. Embarrassing. "Well?"

Who: Garret, Rorie, Mal and a little Connie (NPC)
What: A late night/early morning in the hospital
Where: Beverly Hospital
When: 2am
Rating: PG 13
Status: In Progress [aimscene]

The boys had been dutifully waiting pretty much all night, much to Connie's surprise. She didn't know much about these men in her son's life, but she approved of them. They were loyal, and it was obvious that they were very distraught by what had happened. It was written all over their faces, the love they had for Garret, for each other. Her son was very lucky to have found them. So when Garret was getting moved from intensive care to a regular (but private) room, Connie kept true to her word and sought out the two young men. They were sitting, finally, but neither was asleep. "Ahem," she said softly, to get their attention, standing beneath the harsh flourescent lights but somehow still looking like a beacon of light. "He's being moved to his room now, on the second floor. Visiting hours aren't until nine, but I told them to let you through for awhile. They probably won't give you very long, but I thought you'd want to see him before you went home."

Don't look at me like that, I'm alive, aren't I? )

Who: Rorie, Liam and Mal
When: Evening
Where: Outside in the parking lot, then Adult!Garret's apartment
What: Liam comes to pick up his son and Mal walks by

Rorie was nervous. He was not a rule breaker at all, but this was his father. Not some random man that just happened upon him. It was the man that helped create him and his brother and apparently his little sister. So as the time came to get picked up, he bundled up in the clothes Mal had brought him, feet shoved into a pair of boots and wrapped up in a black pea coat and stocking cap on top. It was approaching 5 when he saw head lightly come into the parking lot. He was starting to rethink this. Maybe he could get his father to go get dinner and bring it back here instead of him leaving. Maybe he shouldn't have snuck out while Garret was in the shower, leaving only a note and hoping that he wouldn't be too mad. Too late. The nice, black car pulled to a stop in front of him and an older gentleman in a black coat with a smooth smile. It looked just like Finn's when he was sweet talking girls or anyone to get his way. He was definitely his father. "Hey you," he said, his smooth, baritone voice said. It was like dripping honey. "Ready to go?" Liam asked.

"I. . . I don't know," Rorie said biting his lip, the pale pink was cracked and worn looking from all the wear it was recieving resently. "Maybe-maybe, you should just bring the food back here. So Garret doesn't get mad that I left him," he suggested, hoping it'd work.

"Are you sure? I made reservations and they don't exactly have take to having people not fill them," Liam said, playing the guilt card. It seemed Rorie was a people pleasure when he was younger and scared of making people mad. He could use that easily. "I mean, I'd have to still pay for the seats whether or not we go. Might as well go so we can at least have a nice dinner before bringing some back."

Oh, Mal was going to be so mad and so was Garret )

Who: Garret, Mal and Rorie
What: Who knows!
Where: A hotel nearby the wedding
When: Late night

Note: Backdated

Garret was sort of paying attention. He started paying more attention at the nip to his ear, that warm, hot tongue tracing over his skin and making him shudder and moan softly, squeezing Rorie's hand. But from that moment, he watched closely to where they were, where they were going. He even kept himself well behaved while they walked through the hotel, drawing Rorie close to his side and releasing his grip on Mal, doing his best to keep the drunken Irishman's hands to himself. This was a really upscale place, and while Garret didn't give half a damn what they thought of his trio, he didn't want to garner unnecessary attention. No sense having security or room service checking in on them.

The closer they got to the room, the harder Garret's heart pounded. )

Who: Max and Malakai
What: Taking a walk
Where: The grounds on campus
When: Early afternoon
Rating: G

Living with Malcoda after leaving Grit's place had been... odd. It wasn't bad, but Max knew that something was wrong with the elder and he couldn't think of what to do. He had been a good boy for days, minding his human manners when they practiced with forks at the table and not drinking too fast and even letting Mal have some blankets on the bed. He should have slept in his own bed in his own room but he didn't want to. He liked the way the elder smelled.

Even running around outside, like they were now, wasn't making Max feel like he usually did. There was something not right in his head. Malcoda was not happy, and Grit was being very odd lately, a lot less grumpy, and Rrrie had seemed less happy yesterday. Everything was weird. On top of that, Devon his new friend had said strange things about families, and when Max had asked Grit while he was on his rounds and checking into the daycare, he had been told a weird word that sounded perfect and foreign.

Too much for a young pup to ponder.

Mal had a lot on his mind. )

Who: Garret, Malakai, Rorie and Max
What: Bringing the family together again
Where: Garret's campus apartment
When: Monday Evening

The texts had been sent, Max had been washed down (much to his dismay but Garret did not trust him burning dirt off himself and not burning the building down), and the apartment was almost clean. Mal had not exaggerated in his frustrations with Max, although a perk of the little pup was that he ate the leftovers Garret tended to leave on tables. Garret was nervous. He didn't know how this was going to go, if either of them would get angry, or feel deceived. If Rorie would be too afraid to want to stay. If Mal would feel ashamed and hide away. If Mal would even show up at all.

Pacing back and forth, Garret ran his hands through his hair again, waiting for Mal. Max was watching the pacing, head moving back and forth like he was at a tennis match, a perpetually perplexed look on his face. Malcoda was coming, wasn't that good? Unless Grit was nervous that the elder would try and take Max away again. But Grit had promised he wouldn't, so there was no need to be worried. And so he wasn't. And when he smelled Malcoda beyond the door, he actually felt excited. Scared, a little bit, but excited.

But he still hid behind the couch when Garret opened the door.

Who: Garret, Malakai and Max
What: Spending time together
Where: Mal's apartment
When: Around seven
Rating: TBD

Just to be spiteful, Garret had eaten before coming over. It had only been an oatmeal raisin Clif bar, but it had been food nonetheless. He was full, and his stomach would not growl in hunger while he was with Mal, and that was the point. There was no limit to how spiteful and petty Garret could get just to prove a point. Not that Mal would care. Or probably even notice. At least, he would never let Garret know that he had noticed. No, he would just act like he usually did, indifferent to anyone's emotions around him, concerned only with his own little world. There were rare glimpses of the truth but for someone like Garret, who needed constant reassurance, it was infuriating.

And he was hoping to deliver some of that infuriation right back. That's why he had eaten, even though he knew Mal would make food for him. And also why he was wearing a torn pair of jeans and a simple tee shirt, as though indicating he hadn't given much thought to their hanging out tonight. (Also, wearing something he wasn't totally attached to would prevent something he did like from getting drooled on by Max.) Pausing a moment outside the door to run his hands down his hair, Garret pahsed through the door into the apartment, backing up immediately (and thumping his back against the door) as he almost walked right into a little kid sitting cross legged on the floor right in front of the door. "Hey!" Max declared, sitting totally naked but grinning happily. "Grit!"

Who: Cassie, Mal and Max
What: Visiting the sponsor and finding the surprise
Where: Mal's apartment
When: Wednesday evening.

Picking up her pillow, Cassie buried her head in the feathers and fabric and let out a muffled scream. This conversation with Jason about dating, not dating, what was going on.... it was just awkward and confusing. She needed a distraction. Luckily for her she had a date to annoy her sponsor instead though so taking her leave from the awkwardness, the demon logged off, grabbed her phone and set off for the staff apartments, texting Fox as she walked.

By the time she arrived at Mal's door she was no clearer about anything, but she was feeling lighter. Unfortunately for Mal this meant there was no way she was going to announce her arrival and give him prior warning, even if he had probably smelt her coming. No, instead she let herself into the apartment, without even thinking about the surprise and the fact Mal had mentioned a 'he' that might escape.

Sunday: November/2/08

Who: Cherry, Malakai, Max
When: Sunday evening
Where: Malakai's apartment
What: introductions and dinner

Cherry had bought the steaks the day before, but got a last minute text from Malakai telling her that Sunday would be better, so she held off on cooking the meat until now. As the beef soaked up heat and lost a bit of its color, she monitored it carefully, making sure two of the steaks stayed as rare as possible to please the puppies. She removed them from the heat when they met approval and quickly wrapped them in foil to hold in the heat. Cherry then let her own steak cook a bit longer so it was medium well, the way she preferred.

With the steaks cooked to perfection, she grabbed her keys and cell phone, then piled up the containers of food, including mashed potatoes, hot biscuits and even dessert: chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. It was a real feast, and fixing it had been therapeutic for the struggling empath. It gave her something constructive to do other than feel sorry for herself.

She hauled the meal over to Malakai's door and knocked with her foot. "Hands full!" she called out, "I can't open it!"

It wasn't that Garret was nervous, per se. He wasn't nervous. But he was uneasy. He didn't like children, and he didn't like puppies, and right now Mal had a combination of both at his apartment. And judging from the way Mal had acted on the phone, this wasn't going to be a circumstance where the kid would only stay a little while. This was one of those "changes forever" kind of deals. Which was partly why Garret had brought Rorie. This was Rorie's life too, and he needed to meet the new addition. And also Rorie had really, really wanted to come. Holding onto the younger man's hand, Garret stood in front of Mal's apartment, debating if he should even bother knocking or not. No. If it were any other time he would have just phased through the door. So he turned the knob and came inside, squeezing Rorie's hand gently.

Hey! Hey! Hey! )

Everything was gradually setting itself into place. Life with Rorie was back as it should have been, and while Garret and Mal had spoken before, it still didn't feel quite right. So after Rorie had been dropped off at his dorm that morning, Garret did his day shift and then begged Declan to cover for him for a few days. The pathfinder should have been exhausted from all the activity, but he wasn't. He felt totally alive. He knew he'd need the energy, because what was coming next would push his body to its limits.

Not bothering to knock, Garret let himself into Mal's apartment, knowing that it was too soon after classes for him to have shifted yet. It took only a few seconds to find the hound, unwinding from his day in the bedroom. Coming up behind him, Garret wrapped his arms around Mal's waist, hugging him tightly and kissing along the back of his neck, humming in approval and want.
I want to be with you... I thought that was obvious... )

What: The two finally become acquainted, then Lloyd has a run in with his demon side
Rating: R for violence and swearing later.

After a week running around the world, Mal should have been ready to stay home, instead he found himself wandering around Boston for no real reason Saturday night. He parked the car in a lot and started walking. It wasn't long before he came across a club that was fairly recent, and apparently owned by one of his co-workers. He'd never been, but he was here now. Shrugging, Mal walked in, white button-down shirt over black jeans reflecting the light in the club as he walked around.

Moving to the bar, Mal ordered a drink and leaned against it, glancing around. Not a bad place all in all. An ear twitched as the next act was announced. Feather something or other. Turning to the stage, his normal stoic expression turn into a grin as he recognized the scent of the demon onstage.

Ok this was dipping into uncomfortable territory )

Mal was tired and actually looked slightly ragged after his long week in Greece and what felt like an even longer flight back home. It wasn't the time changes that got to him so much as the lack of sleep for the past seven days. Since being given the assignment from Hades, Malakai had gotten zero sleep. Still, the first thought he had when he got off the plane was he needed to get back to the school. There was a certain pathfinder he wanted to see.

How he managed to avoid getting a speeding ticket, Mal would never know, but he made the drive from Boston to the school in record time. The hound didn't even stop by his apartment to drop off his bag. He went straight to Garret's door and knocked, running a hand through his hair in an attempt to straighten it and appear the calm, collected man Garret knew.

I wanna feel like I fucking matter. )
