Who: Garret and Malakai
What: Spoilings
Where: Boston
When: Saturday Night
Rating: Probably NSFW eventually
Status: In progress

Malakai wasn't quite certain what to do with Garret any longer. The man was obviously enamored with Rorie, given the amount of time he spent in the other's presence. So maybe the hound was superfluous, just another way to stroke Garret's ego. He'd been pulling away, giving the other two space to be lovers and everytime he did Garret came chasing after him. Like this afternoon online. Mal would not admit to jealousy, but it was nice to know that at least his presence was wanted.

He'd told Garret to be ready by seven, and it was at that time that Mal knocked on the door. He wasn't overly dressed. Stonewashed jeans with a burgundy longsleeved t-shirt and a leather jacket covered his frame, giving him that casual elegance he pulled off so well. He said he'd take Garret out, but he never said where.

Mal was stoic and quiet and simply let things play out as they would, never interfering unless prodded with a stick to do so. )

Saturday: January/23/09

Who: Frankie and Mal
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: Mal's place
What: the fire sprite needs fire

The idea of crawling into a lit fireplace was extremely comforting. Frankie couldn't warm up with the help of electric blankets or space heaters, and poor Vinnie was frazzled from babysitting duty. Frankie had considered going to Belle for help, but she was still in the honeymoon phase of her relationship, and given that it was the weekend, she hated to bother the happy couple. Malakai was a creature of fire, a very powerful one at that. It was kind of him to offer help.

She bundled up in a lot of layers immediately after calling a cab. She'd probably look like a crazy person, but going outside this time of year, especially when she was in such a bad emotional state, could be deadly. Frankie's temperature was already low, lower than was healthy. She had to be careful.

The sprite shivered violently when she rushed out to the taxi and jumped inside. She pointed the driver in the direction she needed to go and asked him politely if he could crank the heat for the short ride. The man looked at her grumpily, but she flashed some extra cash, and he did as she asked. Money talked.

When Frankie arrived at Mal's place, she paid the driver in full and gave him the extra he'd earned for sweating out the heater. Though her energy was low, Frankie managed to run from the taxi to Mal's front door and knock with urgency. Being away from her space heater and electric blanket this long was a bit more than she could handle right now.

Who: Mal and June
What: Finding a stray pup in his house
Where: Mal's house
When: Afternoon
Rating: PG

Mal walked into his house, oddly tired from a long day of chasing his tail and not in the good way. It seemed that several of his Language students had forgotten everything they'd learned over the holiday break. Others in his sex ed class were being nothing but antagonistic. There were dangers to fucking around, even if AIDS didn't top the list. So it was a slightly frustrated, and thoroughly hungry hound that walked into his den.

And who paused right in the middle of his entryway. There was someone in his home and it wasn't the expected Rorie, Garret or Max. Still, it was a hound he recognized. June. Grumbling under his breath and casting a longing glance towards the kitchen, the elder stalked off to find the young one. It didn't take long for him to sniff her out in his fireplace. Mal waited in the doorway for an explanation.

I needed to think. The skinny one's brother made me think. )

Who: Garret and Mal
What: Friskiness
Where: Mal's office
When: Friday afternoon
Rating: NSFW

Rorie had been packed and shipped off this morning to center himself again. It was almost like therapy- when he started falling apart, he took a few days off to put himself back together. Garret could appreciate the need to get away from everything and fix yourself, and he wasn't worried that Rorie wouldn't come back. Rorie would always come back to him. But this meant that Rorie's house would be vacant for Finn to have a few days of space, and Garret could spend some time with his favorite pup in a man suit. He had two hours before his shift started, which was just enough to find Mal, ravage him, then limp to the infirmary before he needed to go to work.

Sneaking in from the office next door, Garret phased through the wall, sneaking up behind Mal. (Not that he thought for a moment that the hound hadn't heard/smelled him coming.) For half a second, he looked over the form before him, the well rounded shoulders and the subtle curve of the waistline, and those dark locks that Garret loved to tangle his fingers in when they kissed. Wrapping both arms around his lover, Garret's lips immediately found their way to the smooth skin of Mal's neck. Purring softly, small nips were made beneath the jawline, Garret using his chin to tilt Mal's upward. His hands splayed themselves on the hound's chest. "I have two hours before my shift starts," he murmured softly, gently biting on Mal's left earlobe. "And it has been so, so, so long since someone has bent me over their desk and fucked me."

Who: Mal and Garret
What: Reconciliation
Where: Mal's house
When: Early morning
Rating: NSFW

It was at the very latest six in the morning when Garret finally climbed out of Rorie's bed, leaving his young love with a kiss to the forehead as he climbed into the shower to wash the night of sex off his skin. After dressing, pressing another soft kiss to Rorie's face and writing a quick note ("Gone to Mal's, be back for lunch"), Garret jogged the short distance between the two houses and let himself into the hound's place. He had missed the both of them, though he knew Rorie needed to be handled more delicately, because his trust was shattered more easily. Mal operated differently. Garret could take a whole different approach with the hound.

Mal looked dignified and peaceful and Max looked like he'd been hit by a bus. )

Who: Rorie and Mal

What: Rorie needs Mal's help putting together Garret's birthday present.
Rating: NSFW
Status: INCOMPLETE!

Rorie was a bit nervous. He knew Garret didn't want anything for his birthday, but he was doing it anyways. Just because. It'd be easy enough to give it to him on Sunday after his birthday. He'd gotten a few things together and was glad that Garret was at his apartment as he worked to get things set up in the bedroom and living room. Pete was in the garage, contently sleeping in his bed next to the heater. Smoothing down the shirt he had on, which wouldn't be on long, he waited nervously for Mal to come over and help out.

Mal was trying to figure out just how the hell he'd gotten himself talked into this. )

Who: Mal and Ziv
What: Meeting and battle!
Where: The woods behind Mal's house
When: Mid afternoon
Rating: R for violence/language.

She had been tracking him for weeks, and it had not been easy. But she was determined. Failure was not an option. She knew the other elders didn't think she could do this, that she was too young, too weak. But her master had faith in her. He had told her to go, and he wouldn't have sent her topside unless he knew she could handle it. Luck seemed to be on her side, though. She caught the faintness of the scent of Miroslav very soon after she arrived topside, and while that was not her primary target, he was one of her objectives. It was rumored that Malcoda had assisted the runaway, and if this was true then one would lead to the other. So she had followed, blending with the world around her as best as she could, rarely sleeping and picking up the language of the humans. They were an interesting species, in the same way that an ant farm was interesting to watch. The way they went through their lives, how simple their structure was, their needs. How they liked to think themselves complicated. Sad, weird little creatures.

What was most interesting, and unusual, was how varied humans were. Hellhounds all followed a basic code of undertanding- obey the master. Obey demons. Follow orders or be killed. Humans were all over the place in what they thought, what they did, what they believed. It made no sense to Ziv, and she would be glad when she got to return home. And while, over the weeks, it seemed that home would be a long way off, finally the day came where her journey seemed to come to an end. The smell of home was pungent in the air, familiar scents that no human could replicate. It could have been another hound on a mission, it could have been an escort.

But it wasn't. Because there he was, hidden amongst trees behind some human dwellings. He seemed to be walking ambly, without purpose. Ziv frowned. Being topside seemed to have softened the elder, like everyone was saying. She hadn't wanted to believe that he was weaker, because of how proud of him Hades had been, but it seemed true. Malcoda was becoming nothing. Crouching low, the young hound shifted, her clothing searing off in a quiet, contained ball of flames. She trotted over to the elder, without secrecy or hesitation, her wings tucked low against her body. "Malcoda," she said as she came before him, bowing her head in respect. "Volám sa Ziv. Ja som poslal zabiť."

Who: Mal and Max
When: Evening, past sundown
Where: Playground
What: Max yelled at Rorie and refused to come home so now it's Mal's turn.

How on earth did the hellhound get himself into these situations? He'd come back to Garret's house after spending time in his own place just to get his head together and found an irate Rorie yelling about curfews and disrespectful pups and how Mal needed to go out and fetch him home. Mal was half tempted to leave Max outside on his own for a bit. It wouldn't hurt the pup any. He knew the basics of hunting so food wouldn't be an issue. It wasn't like he'd freeze if he remembered to keep himself warm.  Max was perfectly capable of taking care of himself for at least a short amount of time. If he wanted to come home, he was more that able to do so. Rorie didn't take kindly to that suggestion.

Which meant Malakai was now running around, an hour past sundown, trying to find a pup who had probably hit puberty and was acting out. Lovely. He knew the pup wasn't on campus so he started to hunt him down, following the faint scent trail left behind. It took a bit, but he finally tracked Max to a playground just outside the center of Danvers. Wanting a bit of privacy -because scolding hellhounds was never quiet- Mal cast a silencing spell and a mirage charm, encompassing the whole of the empty play area. Now he could shift without worrying some human would see him and freak out. The only thing they'd see would be an empty playset.

It was easy enough to see the pup hiding underneath the slide, so Mal walked over, crouching down at the far end so he wouldn't crowd Max. Still, it was obvious he wasn't happy, if for no other reason than he had to find the pup like a training hound on a hunt. Embarrassing. "Well?"

Who: Garret, Rorie, Mal and a little Connie (NPC)
What: A late night/early morning in the hospital
Where: Beverly Hospital
When: 2am
Rating: PG 13
Status: In Progress [aimscene]

The boys had been dutifully waiting pretty much all night, much to Connie's surprise. She didn't know much about these men in her son's life, but she approved of them. They were loyal, and it was obvious that they were very distraught by what had happened. It was written all over their faces, the love they had for Garret, for each other. Her son was very lucky to have found them. So when Garret was getting moved from intensive care to a regular (but private) room, Connie kept true to her word and sought out the two young men. They were sitting, finally, but neither was asleep. "Ahem," she said softly, to get their attention, standing beneath the harsh flourescent lights but somehow still looking like a beacon of light. "He's being moved to his room now, on the second floor. Visiting hours aren't until nine, but I told them to let you through for awhile. They probably won't give you very long, but I thought you'd want to see him before you went home."

Don't look at me like that, I'm alive, aren't I? )

Who: Rorie, Liam and Mal
When: Evening
Where: Outside in the parking lot, then Adult!Garret's apartment
What: Liam comes to pick up his son and Mal walks by

Rorie was nervous. He was not a rule breaker at all, but this was his father. Not some random man that just happened upon him. It was the man that helped create him and his brother and apparently his little sister. So as the time came to get picked up, he bundled up in the clothes Mal had brought him, feet shoved into a pair of boots and wrapped up in a black pea coat and stocking cap on top. It was approaching 5 when he saw head lightly come into the parking lot. He was starting to rethink this. Maybe he could get his father to go get dinner and bring it back here instead of him leaving. Maybe he shouldn't have snuck out while Garret was in the shower, leaving only a note and hoping that he wouldn't be too mad. Too late. The nice, black car pulled to a stop in front of him and an older gentleman in a black coat with a smooth smile. It looked just like Finn's when he was sweet talking girls or anyone to get his way. He was definitely his father. "Hey you," he said, his smooth, baritone voice said. It was like dripping honey. "Ready to go?" Liam asked.

"I. . . I don't know," Rorie said biting his lip, the pale pink was cracked and worn looking from all the wear it was recieving resently. "Maybe-maybe, you should just bring the food back here. So Garret doesn't get mad that I left him," he suggested, hoping it'd work.

"Are you sure? I made reservations and they don't exactly have take to having people not fill them," Liam said, playing the guilt card. It seemed Rorie was a people pleasure when he was younger and scared of making people mad. He could use that easily. "I mean, I'd have to still pay for the seats whether or not we go. Might as well go so we can at least have a nice dinner before bringing some back."

Oh, Mal was going to be so mad and so was Garret )

What: Who knows!
Where: A hotel nearby the wedding
When: Late night

Note: Backdated

Garret was sort of paying attention. He started paying more attention at the nip to his ear, that warm, hot tongue tracing over his skin and making him shudder and moan softly, squeezing Rorie's hand. But from that moment, he watched closely to where they were, where they were going. He even kept himself well behaved while they walked through the hotel, drawing Rorie close to his side and releasing his grip on Mal, doing his best to keep the drunken Irishman's hands to himself. This was a really upscale place, and while Garret didn't give half a damn what they thought of his trio, he didn't want to garner unnecessary attention. No sense having security or room service checking in on them.

The closer they got to the room, the harder Garret's heart pounded. )

Who: Max and Malakai
What: Taking a walk
Where: The grounds on campus
When: Early afternoon
Rating: G

Living with Malcoda after leaving Grit's place had been... odd. It wasn't bad, but Max knew that something was wrong with the elder and he couldn't think of what to do. He had been a good boy for days, minding his human manners when they practiced with forks at the table and not drinking too fast and even letting Mal have some blankets on the bed. He should have slept in his own bed in his own room but he didn't want to. He liked the way the elder smelled.

Even running around outside, like they were now, wasn't making Max feel like he usually did. There was something not right in his head. Malcoda was not happy, and Grit was being very odd lately, a lot less grumpy, and Rrrie had seemed less happy yesterday. Everything was weird. On top of that, Devon his new friend had said strange things about families, and when Max had asked Grit while he was on his rounds and checking into the daycare, he had been told a weird word that sounded perfect and foreign.

Too much for a young pup to ponder.

Mal had a lot on his mind. )

Monday December 1st 2008

Who: Garret, Malakai, Rorie and Max
What: Bringing the family together again
Where: Garret's campus apartment
When: Monday Evening

The texts had been sent, Max had been washed down (much to his dismay but Garret did not trust him burning dirt off himself and not burning the building down), and the apartment was almost clean. Mal had not exaggerated in his frustrations with Max, although a perk of the little pup was that he ate the leftovers Garret tended to leave on tables. Garret was nervous. He didn't know how this was going to go, if either of them would get angry, or feel deceived. If Rorie would be too afraid to want to stay. If Mal would feel ashamed and hide away. If Mal would even show up at all.

Pacing back and forth, Garret ran his hands through his hair again, waiting for Mal. Max was watching the pacing, head moving back and forth like he was at a tennis match, a perpetually perplexed look on his face. Malcoda was coming, wasn't that good? Unless Grit was nervous that the elder would try and take Max away again. But Grit had promised he wouldn't, so there was no need to be worried. And so he wasn't. And when he smelled Malcoda beyond the door, he actually felt excited. Scared, a little bit, but excited.

But he still hid behind the couch when Garret opened the door.

Wednesday November 26th 2008 - Later Night

Who: Garret and Mal
What: Talking (hopefully)
Where: Mal's house
When: After dropping Rorie at the infirmary
Rating: TBD

With Rorie safe in the infirmary, in the capable and beautiful hands of Wesley, Garret had a new mission. He needed to find Mal, figure out what the hell was going on. But after seeing the state of Rorie's house, and hearing what Rorie had gone through, Garret knew he couldn't walk into this just as he was. He'd need to prepare. Because it wasn't a full moon, Garret managed to go into the security office and make off with the tranquilizer gun, the Holy Water super soaker (young vamps could be dangerous) and the silver choke chain. He didn't think Mal would hurt him, but he didn't know for sure. He didn't know what to expect.

Wearing boots, ripped jeans, an old tee shirt and a denim jacket over that, Garret drove back to the houses, his heart thudding hard in his chest every inch of road he passed. He needed to know. He needed to see Mal, face to face, to know what happened. Because the Mal that Rorie was describing wasn't his hound. He couldn't be.

Stopping at the door, Garret paused, hand hovering over the knob. He took in a deep breath, closed his eyes, and did something that he had never done before in the entirety of his life. He prayed. "Whoever you are, or aren't," he murmured, "please don't let me die in there with him. Amen." Eyes opened, Garret grabbed the knob and turned, letting himself inside.
