Hi. Just arrived in England today. That post of Robinet's from yesterday was...um. Intense. How are you?

I’m an idiot and I should have put an end to this stupid situation I'm in when we talked about it last. I’m going to send back the ring and get the contract formally made null and void with a solicitor’s help.

I’ve hurt and disappointed a lot of people (including both of you) with my bad decisions and I don’t know exactly what I need to do to make things right. Those two things for sure, but I have no idea about the rest.

Weirdly enough, one of the biggest things that helped me make a decision was something Val said. She was lecturing me for apologizing to Fred for my journal post about getting a black eye, and told me I’m going to be an Avery and should behave the part. I’ve compartmentalized and compromised my sense of empathy too much already by going along with this as much as I have.

I’m willing to go as far as an Unbreakable Vow to hold myself accountable.

I wish everyone who was injured last night a speedy recovery.


To the "gentleman" who pushed ahead of me and elbowed me in the face fleeing from last night's attack on the Ministry: thanks ever so much for the black eye. You're a darling.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there.

I couldn't have asked for a better one myself. Thank you, Maman, for teaching me class and compassion, and for always being patient whenever I hounded you with a barrage of questions and wouldn't stop asking "Why?"

I've never been so glad to have a fourth floor flat! There are werewolves howling and snapping outside of my building. They don't seem to be trying to get in, but it's still creepy.

If you live in Knockturn Alley, please be careful and avoid going out. I'm working on a non-violent solution to the problem.

Now that I've managed to get the warding working (seriously guys, check your warding before sending anything - I think there are network updates or something!), I have some news.

I know Michael has found me giving up alcohol for an entire year weird, and Thea noticed something at the ball, so I decided it's time to tell you. A few people already know, and I wanted you to find out directly from me rather than secondhand. I'm pregnant. It'll be four months in early March and holy shit I was not ready to type out that sentence. Dante is the father. So...that's my news. I hope your days are going well.

Thanks to Rhys Cadwallader's recommendation of pineapple fizzy drink, I started experimenting with ways to mix it for other delicious non-alcoholic drink options. This one is my favourite:




I've named it "Lava Dream" in honour of this weirdly cute video about volcanoes that someone uploaded onto Wiztube. You could add rum to this drink if you wanted it to be alcoholic, but I think it tastes great as is.

Nothing like an up close and personal encounter with a Dementor to really wake you up in the morning.

So...Sunday's dinner. We should talk about things before our parents make all the decisions for us.

When I visited my family this weekend, I found my old (and well loved!) copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. I always liked The Fountain of Fair Fortune the best. Everyone found the solutions to their problems by turning to one another.

Alive and not disowned. I'd say that was a moderately successful family chat. Also, we should go somewhere warm with a beach soon.

I have a few ideas on how to tamper with the tracking on the IDs and possibly even make Madam Umbridge get in a little bit of trouble. Purely theoretical, of course. We are Ministry professionals who would never dream of interfering with our fine government's creepy invasions of privacy, after all.

I think I'm going to try making a pureblood dating app like Peony suggested. It won't be ready by Valentines' Day, though. Sorry!

I've decided to give away several bottles of wine - five in total. Rather than just give them away to people I know personally, I thought it would be more fun to have a mini-contest and give everyone a fair chance to get some. It's all been made by my family's wine distillery and I can attest that it's delicious if you like wine at all.
