I want to say some things. Because the truth is, I spent so much of this war quiet hoping that bullying and hatred and evil shit would just blow over so the rest of us could get on with our lives. And I kept my mouth out of what I observed because I didn't want to make it worse for the people I loved. I also didn't want to make it worse on myself. That is a kind of cowardice.

Because I was scared then, I don't want to be scared anymore. I just want to say that I'm proud of my sister, Alicia Spinnet. She had to give up her career and face public maligning by purported adults because she stuck to her beliefs. She fought for people who were disenfranchised by the Death Eaters' government. She fought for our parents. She supported Harry Potter. And she survived. I love my sister very much.

Take this opportunity (right here, a little good vibes only moment) to tell the world about someone whose behaviour should get major props. Who's been pretty badass in your life?

I want to have you both over to dinner with Mum and Dad.

You know, Joan of Arc's a saint.

[LEON & ALICIA]
I don't really know Oliver Wood. But his dad's body is at the hospital. And I would definitely want my family in this situation.

Here's some Sunday night herbology for you. As you know, there are many dangers lurking in your back yard. Venemous spiders and snakes, bites from injured or sick animals or even the slip of a garden shovel or kitchen knife. There's a plant that I always keep on hand that's good field medicine until you can go to the hos see a Healer. Good news, it's probably in your back yard. If it's not, I bet you'll be able to get some from your favourite potions dealer. It's called:

yarrow )

Crushed leaves and flowers placed on a wound can help stop bleeding. The leaves are also antiseptic and encourage clotting. I've been experimenting with yarrow and plantain as wound care to slow or even impede the after effects of dark magic. This is:

plantain )

Plantain is also good medicine for bee stings.

As promised: C.M. wasn't at the hospital last night. Of course, this is compounded because as admin, he's rarely there past 17:00. But if you see him try to use it as an alibi, I've taken a photo of his time sheet.

[LEON + ALICIA]
Hello favourite vigilantes. Remember when I said that I'm not a fighter and leave me out of it I just want to live my life? That's all true.

I guess I just wanted to check in and make sure you're all okay. I'm friends with Lumos Boot and ...

anyway. I just wanted to check in.

Should I leave St. M's?

For the last time, catnip tea only gives cats visions. It'll help you if you have to evacuate some poo, but you'll not divine the future by drinking the stuff alone.

[FRIENDS]
You have my leave to assume, if you'd like.
In holding a conversation with a friend this afternoon, it came to my attention that we're all in league with living in a world that is not quite in keeping with normalcy. Because I say to hell with normalcy, but always yes to living well, I'm going to hold a dinner party.

At the very least, this will get you all boned up and ready to go for the Easter sprint.

Bring your favourite drink to my place at LOCATION in Hampstead on 28 March at 20:00.

[ALICIA]
Brunch for Easter? Dawlish is poking around about you. I told him we don't speak.

oh okay. There's werewolves in Hampstead Heath and no one is answering at the DRMC. And as I am not in my house, this is kind of SUPER TERRIF inconvenient.

I have an amaryllis bulb - it's probably 16 or 17 years old.

Old as hell, huh? I've been taking care of it since I was little. And while it doesn't have quite the magic of some of our wizarding plants, the simple hardihood of this flower (with a little care, a little forethought) is pretty magical. It doesn't have much purpose other than the fact that I like to grow it and, for 17 years, its bloom has more or less reminded me that longer, warmer days are on the way.

And barring that, last night Toot learned how to whistle "Space Oddity" ... he was standing on a tennis ball while he did it, too.
